Currently staying at the Creekside Village Resort in Basye, VA. Check-in process was cool even…read morethough we arrived late at night (midnight). They place the keys in a VERY secure lockbox in an envelope with your name on it. You need a passcode to get into it, so it's not easy to break into. The drive to the resort was terrifying in the middle of the night, though, I will say. However, the unit itself was pretty cozy & I liked that it felt more homey than most modern & newer resorts trying hard to be fancy. It goes to show that you don't need a ton of expensive things to have a good vacation. I only docked a star because there were some things they didn't provide for a unit that's basically a 2-bedroom apartment: a dish rack, a vacuum (the place is fully carpeted), & steady internet service. The internet here is kinda spotty & keeps disconnecting every few minutes. I get that it's the mountains, but I also live in the mountains & it's not this bad. One of the locks on the screen door for the back balcony is also broken, which kinda sucks. Other than those minor things, it's a pretty good place to go for vacation & to get away from the world & be in nature. Lots of nature attractions all around. Pool is closed during COVID, tho, so don't get your hopes up.

Maintenance takes forever and the maintenance guys leave a mess behind them. Tent from anyone other than Riner's Rentals if you can. They really are the worst.

They have done a walk through the apartment twice they know that the ceiling fans don't work…read moreupstairs and they know their is ripes in the laminate flooring in the kitchen since we have been here never fixed water damage from the bathroom upstairs in the ceiling in the kitchen been their since we moved in and we got a non renewal because our neighbor kept calling in and lieing at first it was just that then it was they had numerous calls that's to cover them but not one phone call or email about these calls in ten years that we have been here plus numerous things we have had to wait to have fixed we have kept all of our documents and hope they know painting a house and redoing the carpet goes with the wear and tear after how long we have been here oh and they said they weren't renewing their lease either but she knows someone in their office so it seems their getting to stay so now she is messing with our cars I have her on camera doing it and still saying stuff good for you riner rental you just gave her more room to run her mouth...
