The young lady behind the counter was friendly, patient, and handled all of our questions like a true professional. The food was excellent across the board. My daughter ordered the burger, my wife had the salmon and turkey, my son had the ribs, and I went with the Yardbird. Everything was cooked perfectly, and no one had a single complaint. We tried a variety of sides, and the mac and cheese was the clear family favorite. While we were eating, we had a nice conversation with one of the ladies working in the dining room. She surprised us by bringing over two blueberry cobblers on the house, which was incredibly thoughtful. It was honestly the best blueberry cobbler I've ever had. Great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back. On a second visit My son and I stopped in for dinner after our CAP meeting. We placed our order and went to get our drinks. Shortly afterward, our order was ready. We both chose the smoked cheddar burger. I would have liked it to be a little hotter, but it was still very good. Of course, we paired it with fries and mac and cheese. While we were getting our food, I noticed a gentleman who had arrived before us was still waiting. He spoke with the manager and explained that he had already been waiting about 20 minutes and had not been called. The manager immediately apologized and had his order prepared on the spot. He then went a step further and issued the gentleman a full refund. It turns out the gentleman was a U.S. Navy veteran. Respect to Mission BBQ for doing the right thing and putting their customers first. That level of service still matters.

Both came with a drink and everything was hot and delicious. Big portions and everything was seasoned and flavorful. They have a bunch of different sauces to try, including a yummy alamaba white sauce and mustard sauce. Friendly staff and clean/inviting restaurant. We tried the banana pudding which was also very good. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Ocala. Yum yum!

We witnessed a couple sitting at a table near us who had a dog in a baby carriage type thing. They were feeding the dog with a restaurant fork and also giving some food out of a restaurant bowl. I pointed this out to our server Debbie who told us they are not allowed to ask any questions as service dogs are allowed. When we pointed out to her that they were feeding the dog with their fork and bowl as well as letting the dogs head on/near the table and then ask her what type of service could the dog provide sitting in the carriage she went and talked to them. Debbie came back and told us the couple had a government issued license indicating the dog is a service dog. Again, she said there was nothing she could do. I suggested she talk with her Manager as service dog or not the dog can not provide service sitting in the carriage and should not be feed at the table with their fork and bowls. Debbie stated the couple told her the dog had recently had surgery. The couple left before we did and as they passed by us the dog was very active in the carriage and did not appear to be feeling bad. After they left another person cleared off the table and then wiped it down with a cloth. We watched her take the cloth put it a container which appeared to have water/or some cleaning material in it. Later another person used that cloth on another table. Not all of us ate lunch as we decided we did not want to eat food in a place that: 1. allowed dogs sitting in a carriage. 2. allow dogs to be feed with their fork and bowl. 3. allow dogs to have their head at/near the table top. 4. use a cloth to clean a table where a dog has been and then reuse the cloth on another table. Not only did they lose income today but the likelihood of me returning to Pig and Cattle is very slim. I have always enjoyed Pig and Cattle and personally I think you prices are reasonable and food is very good. Our after Church group -- generally 8-12 people--have about four place we rotate going to. The next time Pig and Cattle comes up in the rotation it is very unlikely my wife and I will go. Afterall, how can we be sure another dog was not at our table or a cloth used to clean the table had not been used to clean a dog table? How can we be sure that the silverware we are using has not been used to feed a dog? How can we be sure that the bowl/plate we we are served with has not been used to feed a dog? As lost customer, George

This restaurant has been here forever, but gets really great inspections from the health department despite being an older building. We ordered to-go and ate in the parking lot. What a feast! We ordered their current special: a full slab on payback ribs and 2 sides for a mere $14.99. That was to take home, but we sampled it in the car and no silverware was needed. These ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy and thick. It was hard to remember that these were for later, we wanted them all now! Our sides were fries and baked beans. The beans were good, but the fries were nothing special. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich with green beans and hasn't stopped raving about the green beans the entire time he was eating. He said the sandwich was delicious, too! I like meat cooked well-done, so I ordered a burnt ends sandwich and coleslaw. What a happy surprise that the meat was thinly sliced instead of the usual chunks served at other places! Every single piece of meat was well-cooked, tasty, and not at all fatty or greasy. I'm a fan! The coleslaw was delicious, too! Our to-go ordered was served with a smile, plenty of napkins and silverware and ketchup and salt and pepper and barbecue sauce. I found a new restaurant to crave (again)!

The waitress responded promptly with our drinks (No Diet Coke) only Coke Zero...No problem for me, but Dawn dislikes the Coke and Pepsi zero products. The Restaurant is nice, clean, spacious and well lighted (a plus for me) The waitstaff, and servers were cordial and professional. Not a big crowd, but it was nice with football on the t.v. and a little country music playing at a nice level. My 1/2 lb burger was cooked and seasoned well, it arrived good and hot too. The cold slaw was good, and tasty. Dawn had the 4 seasons salad, and she said it was good and the grilled chicken was palatable. Overall we had a good meal and decent experience. We would definitely come back again. Jewelz, our server made several trips to our table, and kept our glasses full.

It was a late lunch so the place wasn't full...although the bar area looked busy. When we walked in, there was no host to greet/seat us. Waited a couple of minutes then I walked towards the kitchen to get someone's attention. A minute or so later what looked like the manager came over to seat us in a booth. After checking out the menu and mindful to avoid ordering fried items based on reviews that they're overly greasy, my wife ordered the The Ricky ($13.50 + $1.00 up charge - Cuban roast pork on Cuban bread) with sweet potato waffle fries and I ordered The Pepin ($16 - Cuban roast pork served with red beans and rice and fried sweet plantains). We just had water with our meals. My wife thought the bread was fresh but thought the roast pork was just OK. The sandwich paired well with the honey mustard but not so much with the mojo au jus. My dish started out good, with my first taste of the roast pork being good and flavorful then just went meh after that. The sweet plantains are always good for me. Ambience was cool and upbeat. Portions were generous and it had decent value...but we thought the flavors of the roast pork were muted and fell well short of the pernil flavor we've come accustomed to. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $39.
