We met Mark, the owner, who is friendly and offered great suggestions. I had the Brisket Sandwhich with mashed sweet potatoes and an order of sweet potato hush puppies. My husband had the brisket platter with cowboy beans and their special slaw. Everything came quickly, it was hot and cooked to order. The brisket was medium rare and so tender. The seasoning was perfect! Not too salty, so smooth. My husband's meat was cut to the perfect Slice and so tender, he also had the corn bread that was delicious. The beans and slaw were great sides. They give a very nice serving, enough for left overs. We really enjoyed our lunch and will be sure to make this our go to barbecue restaurant.

He told me that we needed to come together, I'm so glad that we finally did. We were greeted immediately by a wonderful hostess who sat us at a table of our choice. The restaurant had quite a few customers for 11:30 a.m. As soon as we were seated "Aubrey"our waitress came over to us with the nicest smile and the sweetest demeanor! Aubrey gave us the very best service anyone could possibly get as a customer. Since I had never been there before I had wanted her opinion even though I asked my son on her thoughts on what I may want to order. She was extremely helpful and made it easier for me. I wanted very much to try two of the meats and she explained how I could just get a side of one and add a piece or two of what I had chose. I also wanted to change the sides on my platter, this was no issue at all. I didn't even see the sides I had ordered on the list of sides even though they had appeared to be accompanied on plates with other meals. Everything we asked for was accommodated and there wasn't any fuss or issue made this restaurant is clearly here to fulfill the requests of their patrons and make sure that they are pleased. Aubrey came around with refills for our drinks knowing just when they were needed and asked us if we needed anything at appropriate times. All I can do is rave about the food it's really so, so good! Everything is fresh, flavorful and cooked so well. This is refreshing the care that they put into their menu. My son had the burnt ends for his second time. I tasted them and they were out of this world! Melt in your mouth and flavored to perfection! I couldn't get enough of a taste it was scrumptious. He also had the Redneck Nacho's with the Brisket and oh my gosh they were delicious! This was a huge bowl and he could not finish. I tried these too and I was impressed how they tasted so fresh seasoned so nicely, nothing like you would expect and they definitely are of quality nothing generic! I might add that he was able to get the nachos his way by adding and removing certain items. Such an extra special touch it made the plate even more appreciated. These both are must tries. I had the brisket platter with coleslaw, waffle fries, cornbread and a side of two ribs. The brisket was delicious and between the brisket and burnt ends I'm torn they are both fabulous! So good and I don't think I've had either so good anywhere till here in years. The ribs were very tender but there was a spice on it that I did not love. It wasn't spicy as in heat it was just something that wasn't my exact cup of tea. Don't get me wrong it was still excellent and worth trying , it just not would be my choice plate. The cornbread was outstanding. It was moist and flavor well balanced, texture perfect. I never thought I'd be speaking about cornbread but it was seriously that fabulous that I even took home an extra piece of! If I could have I would have bought a whole tray. The coleslaw was also a really nice surprise, crunchy, flavorful and just delicious. What can I say this experience was one fabulous meal that I would love to do have again. It's pretty loud inside. We were seated promptly and drinks ordered. Our server, Tanya was friendly and helpful regarding menu items. Food took a long time to arrive but everyone's order was correct. Most of us had the brisket sandwich. It was very good. Not overly smoky, meat was tender with a very pleasant mix of crispy ends, succulent rendered fat, and plenty of meat. The sides stole the show. Despite all of them being on the sweet side (except the collards- which we were advised tend to be a bit salty- which they were). Sweet potato casserole was super, slaw crispy, creamy and sweet, beans smoky sweet and sticky. The complaints I have are the super uncomfortable chairs which actually made me want to take food to go, I recognized these chairs when I walked in (I've suffered in them before at other places). Dessert (bread pudding and banana pudding) were not my preferred versions of either. But, I really didn't want or need dessert anyway as the entree was so filling. In an attempt to be more "high end", the sauces (bbq, ketchup, etc) are not on the table, and small cups are brought by the server. Since there was more than one option in bbq sauce... I'd prefer to have them labeled on the table to see which I liked, and decant how much and where I want. (Small complaints... but it rubbed me the wrong way) There's a paper towel roll on the table- and utensils wrapped in a napkin (which I needed)... bbq can get messy! Those rolled brown paper towels... I didn't want to wipe my mouth on them... it's hard, scratchy and very unpleasant on the face. But, the actual napkin didn't survive the whole sandwich and I was forced to go paper towel. The paper towel holder also was the exact height to block the view of the other people at our table... so the towels had to be moved to the unoccupied end of the table. They are open late which is great, although perhaps some confusion about how late as the website and door signage were off by 2 hours and our server seemed unsure which was correct. Overall: food 8/10 Ambiance 6/10 (The uncomfortable chairs really do not encourage you to stay and have another drink, or watch more of the game) I will return, but I predict my next visit will be takeout.

While we were getting our food, I noticed a gentleman who had arrived before us was still waiting. He spoke with the manager and explained that he had already been waiting about 20 minutes and had not been called. The manager immediately apologized and had his order prepared on the spot. He then went a step further and issued the gentleman a full refund. It turns out the gentleman was a U.S. Navy veteran. Respect to Mission BBQ for doing the right thing and putting their customers first. That level of service still matters.
