My family and I stopped in at Mission BBQ for dinner, and from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. The young lady behind the counter was friendly, patient, and handled all of our questions like a true professional. The food was excellent across the board. My daughter ordered the burger, my wife had the salmon and turkey, my son had the ribs, and I went with the Yardbird. Everything was cooked perfectly, and no one had a single complaint. We tried a variety of sides, and the mac and cheese was the clear family favorite. While we were eating, we had a nice conversation with one of the ladies working in the dining room. She surprised us by bringing over two blueberry cobblers on the house, which was incredibly thoughtful. It was honestly the best blueberry cobbler I've ever had. Great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back. On a second visit My son and I stopped in for dinner after our CAP meeting. We placed our order and went to get our drinks. Shortly afterward, our order was ready. We both chose the smoked cheddar burger. I would have liked it to be a little hotter, but it was still very good. Of course, we paired it with fries and mac and cheese. While we were getting our food, I noticed a gentleman who had arrived before us was still waiting. He spoke with the manager and explained that he had already been waiting about 20 minutes and had not been called. The manager immediately apologized and had his order prepared on the spot. He then went a step further and issued the gentleman a full refund. It turns out the gentleman was a U.S. Navy veteran. Freedom isn't Free... We had a tasty BBQ dinner at Mission BBQ tonight. We found them on Yelp & they had excellent reviews. After visiting, we can tell you they are a superior BBQ place. The food was wonderful - pulled port, mac & cheese, coleslaw, french fries...all delicious! The best part was that because it's Veterans Day, the restaurant is giving free sandwiches to Vets & First Responders. Then we learned that on other days, they get free dessert. How fabulous!! 5 Stars and bonus points since the entire staff was super! A staff member came over to ensure we were enjoying our food & our cashier came out to give us more info on the program they offer for our heroes. Check out the many restaurants in varios states. Passing through on Halloween night. Needed a solid sit down after 9 hours of driving. Yelpers recommended this jewel, and they never steer us wrong! The ambiance was typical of a well ran/organized BBQ restaurant. Order at the counter and pick up. A host of sauces were on the table and in the "garage" along with the straws and lids. Cool idea!! Also, thanks for all of the patriotic photos of our service men - past and present. A very noble and gracious tip of your hat to their service for our country. The food was great - my wife had the pulled chicken sandwich with the cheesy potatoes and I had a 2 meat - jalapeño sausage and moist brisket with the cheesy potatoes and baked beans. Everything was perfect. Greeted immediately when we can in - announced that we were virgins at the Mission so a lovely lady held our hands and helped us jump right in! The manager stopped by - my wife commented on how friendly everyone has been and the food was amazing. She proceeded to thank us and then returned with 2 apple cobblers - oh Happy Halloween to us! As a service member I greatly appreciate mission bbq , not only is the atmosphere welcoming but there is a story on each one of the walls showing the love and appreciation to all of our brothers and sisters. The food was also very good I mean outstanding . For this to be a chain restaurant I am so surprised on the quality of food. I got lean brisket and it was so moist I also got the pulled chicken which was seasoned to perfection . I had been out for a Sunday afternoon drive with my mom, and it was getting on to supper time so we figured we would find something in town somewhere. We looked at a couple of different restaurants, but finally decided on Mission Barbecue. The outside has a modern look to it, and parking was not an issue. Inside we were greeted with the solid smells of Texas Barbecue and the walls plastered with military memorabilia. Turns out that Mission Barbecue is a big supporter of the military, and caters to them very well. We went for a sampler platter of different meats and sides, as we weren't hugely hungry and knew that would be enough between the two of us. We also went to town on the sauces and sampled all of them. The food is good here, and we did enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. If we get a hankering for barbecue this place will definitely be at the top of our list to return to if we are in the area. read more

Wow! What a great location! From the moment we walked in, Daisy greeted us and secured a table to accommodate the 5 of us. As always, the ribs were excellent, the national anthem at noon is the reason we came! Everyone stood up and saluted the flag! It was wonderful. We had a great chat with Daisy and she found out my dad served in the military and she asked him to bring a pic in and they would frame it nicely to add to their walls of veterans. The food was absolutely delicious--some of the very best BBQ my wife and I have ever had. Brisket, for example, was juicy, tender, and perfectly flavored. The sauces were incredible too, but the meat was so delicious (we tried four different ones), we didn't want to use sauce so as not to mask any of the flavor of the meat. We got an order of fries just so we could try all six sauces! The ambience was warm, informal, clean, and fun. And as the son of a career Army dad, I loved the respect for veterans, police, and emergency service providers the place wears all over its walls with unabashed pride and patriotism. ON POINT. This food is so good. It the price is hi. I put in an order for $100 party pack. When I got there the staff seemed confused. She forgot 2 of my items I was a little angry I had to remind her. Order was supposed to be ready at the exact time I got there. She spent 10 packing it all. Not sure why it was not already packed for me. I drove 25 mins across town to get this great food it should be ready when they say it will be ready. The food is pricey but so worth it if you can afford it. I will be back when my budget allows me to. The Mac and cheese was great and the spices in the pork were so damn good. Mission is consistently delicious! We've been several times since they opened and always so good! Daisy was our floor attendant today and she was so helpful! Very friendly and attentive. I had given Lisa pics of several family members who have been or are still active military and today was the first time we saw them on the wall. Pulled pork /brisket and jalapeño cheese sausage- all were tender and tasty- not overly smoky tasting- the fatty cut of brisket was my favorite Sides - the collard greens were the best bite on the plate. Hubby and I were very disappointed with our dining experience at Mission. We do appreciate the tribute to servicemen and women, but nothing about the food would entice us to go back. The meat was way too salty, the slaw was almost tasteless, and we didn't care for any of the sauces (I just ate my few bites of too-salty meat without any). I tried this restaurant since I'm from out of town and I like trying local fare when traveling. I opted for the brisket, green beans and kicking collard greens. Being from Texas, I have the bar set pretty high for brisket, and it did not disappoint! It was some of the best brisket I've ever had. I was pleasantly surprised. Also, I like that they asked me when I ordered it if I wanted it more lean or fatty. I prefer my brisket lean, and that's exactly what it was. I ate every single bite and didn't even use any of the 6 different sauces they offer. If I had used sauce, I like that their sauce offerings are all very different by region and style, such as Texas, Smoky Mountain, Memphis, KC, Florida, and Tupelo. The sides were very good as well. It's sometime hard to get collard greens right, but these were delicious! The decor is really neat, with military photos and decor all over the restaurant; old and new. The staff was super nice as well, which is a rare find these days. This place is awesome. I see that there are locations all across the country, but none in Texas, which is where I'm from and which is why I've never heard of this place. Mission BBQ: Please come to Texas!
