I have had some bad experiances with other Dentists in the past…read more That being said, after my wife talked me into seeing Dr. Patterson, I have a different outlook on going. He and his staff thus far have been completely painless. This alone is something I am not use to. They are also very friendly and did not take a big chunk out of my wallet when I went. I recently had a crown replaced and a filling. The wait time was almost nothing. Dr. Patterson is a military man and is very organized and structured. Not having to wait in the waiting room is also a new experiance for me when going to the Dentist. His Dental Hygienist Candy (I love that she's named Candy) is so nice and friendly. She also understood that I have very sensitive teeth and was just great a doing a job that needed to be done that I just am never going to be fully comfortable with, but she was wonderful. I highly recomend Dr. Patterson and his staff to anyone. They have changed my negative thoughts about Dentistry into positive ones!

I had been recommended to go to Dr. Nick by a friend and after researching him online, I finally made an appointment. He is one of a kind dentist and ahead of his time with his knowledge and technique. It is awesome we have such a dentist in this area! The office is really nice and everyone who works there that I have encountered is so friendly and helpful. The woman at the front desk is so warm and friendly. I wasn't feeling particularly anxious, but I was told it was free, so I agreed. I was quickly given paperwork to sign, which I did willingly, though I should have taken more time to read it. What was not explained to me verbally was that this involved an injection in my neck. When I realized that, I froze but went along with it. After the injection, I was told the doctor is writing a paper on this procedure and was then asked whether it helped my anxiety, which immediately made me uncomfortable and made me feel like a test subject rather than a patient. Later, when reviewing the consent, I saw listed risks such as temporary phrenic nerve blockage and infection, risks that were never clearly explained beforehand. Instead, it was described very casually as "feeling like having a mimosa." When I called with concerns, the staff were kind and understanding, but I was told I would know if something went wrong because I'd have extreme difficulty breathing. I wish that risk had been communicated before the procedure, not AFTER. The staff were friendly overall and there were no complications, but the lack of transparency and how casually this was presented felt unethical to me as a patient. While I did sign the paperwork and take responsibility for that, clearer verbal communication and informed consent would have made a huge difference.

I was a new patient (and from out of the area) and therefore I expected the typical routine of having to go through a full examine, consultation, x-rays, etc. This is what usually causes me to 'put-off' going to the Dentist. Although I understand the necessity, sometimes I feel it's just a bit much and overwhelming. I had a small need/concern with my tooth and Robert Hodous took me right in, addressed and fixed the problem. I was extremely impressed at the fact that he didn't push a 'new patient' work up on me and make me go through all the motions before fixing the problem. We were one exit away, and ended up completely stopped on the interstate due to a major wreck. I called immediately (10 minutes ahead of our appointment time), but we were still 30 minutes late. The front desk staff was very gracious on the phone. The hygienists were extremely efficient, and were able to work all of my kids in without having us reschedule. While I know this kind of flexibility isn't always possible, I GREATLY appreciate the effort they put forth in making it possible today.

My only complaint is that they always require you to pay substantially more than the co-pay is expected to be with the understanding they will reimburse you. The problem is it is like "pulling teeth" to get the reimbursement. My insurance processed the claim the day after my visit, and that has been about 3 months, and still waiting.

They sent over the x-rays but when I went in to get the work done they said they had to do "their own x-rays" costing me another $200 out of pocket. And even though I have insurance they want to charge me more up front for the work "just in case my insurance didn't cover their part". What? The lady at the counter was very pushy about having to get this done asap. I never went back. Just seems like a real lack of integrity here and I found another place doing the same work for $500 less out of pocket.
