I marvel at the activities the counselors come up with to keep the kids engaged and laughing all day, even in sweltering heat. I also love that you can see highlights every day on Instagram. It's all about the counselors, they are kind, patient, inclusive and so positive, even in the face of rowdy behavior. I like what our kids are learning and we promised them they can go there all summer next year :)

It's pretty no-nonsense: they do some activities with the kids in the gym (basically a lot of hopping around on the equipment) and then go to the party room for whatever the host has supplied to eat (pizza, cake, etc.). The staff is friendly and helps out a little with the clean up. Can't tell you much about the serious gymnastics programs, but for a young kid's birthday party, it's A-OK.

You'll see gymnasts, martial artists, break dancers, silk dancers and all kinds of athletes in there at those times and it's a blast. It can get packed those times but everyone is mindful of each other for safety and still get plenty of space and access to what you need to work on. And as a total beginner I can walk in here and have the awesome Steve encourage and support me to try a backflip...I can't even do a cartwheel! At the Y, there are six pickleball courts, striped over three tennis courts. Court surface is great compared to other courts in the Arlington area. There are times/options for all level of play and many sessions are marked for specific levels of play so you know what you're signing up for. It does occasionally struggle with HVAC issues but they address it as much as they can, considering the age of the facility. But they are planning a renovation/new facility, so that's great. And consistent with many pickleball communities, the Y's efforts - drop-ins, tournaments, WhatsApp groups, etc. - have fostered a great community.

There is varied parking. Lots B and C are closest to the track but the back lot has more than enough room for overflow. The staff was kind and the park had more than enough police presence to keep it safe.

Although he didn't start off as one of the more gifted or confident players, Coach Denis and his team has been amazing at bringing out his best -- so much that this year, his team has gone to an undefeated season. But more than winning tournaments, the coaches teach skills at an approachable, inspiring, and positive way. As for our youngest, he was clearly not ready for soccer. Coach Dennis gently approached me and said that it might be better to try again next year and to just email for a refund. When the youngest is ready, we will definitely be bringing him to the field with his cleats on and ready.

For travel camp, they pay close attention to where everyone is always ensuring everyone is accounted for at all times. On one trip to the Smithsonian, a butterfly landed on my child's nose and the camp counselor even took a few pics and sent them to me. So incredibly thoughtful!! I'm so happy that my child has experienced Congressional Camp. Each year, my child looks forward to it and looks forward to exciting new adventures. We've been going to Congressional Camp for six years and just love it.

This review is for the Mad Science Summer Camp ONLY…read more This business is the kind where they find a place to rent out for a few weeks sight unseen *so the venue can be filthy, falling apart, dangerous as in failing equipment, broken down classroom seating and utensils, and they won't know it. Our camp was housed in a filthy and musty public elementary school in a small classroom. This room was too small for the entire group and so all were cramped. The reality was ALARMING that the instructors function as bodies to direct a script but are not truly educators *so you can have a recent college grad with a BA in History teaching your kid "science" and add to that a person not in tune, or give a hoot about kids, how to educate, nurture nor watch over children. Worst of all and YIKES they do not not pay attention nor supervise these kids, they are hands off if any trouble or accidents happen and they do not report injuries to the parents. These instructors are oblivious about harm done to the student and are more worried about having time to get and eat lunch, drinking Starbucks, being on their phones, etc.* SOOOOOO With that as the preface all I can say is do not waste your money because your child will not learn much science. All they will get is a babysitter who pretends to be a teacher, who if you are lucky feigns cheeriness, add to that the other children in the class will not respect the instructor nor their peers and as in the case of my daughter, get physically injured. SO WHAT HAPPENED? An experiment went sideways and my daughters entire back had the skin scraped off while being pulled by a boy to the point that her shirt came up while being pulled the equipment broke, and the skin came off she was left with a raw back, no attention was given and it was bleeding. The instructor kept her mouth SHUT and only when I went to hug my daughter once I picked her up, did she cry out in pain and showed me her entire back was still bleeding. The instructors were gone by then so I had to wait until the next day. I went up to the main instructor the next day and told her it was unacceptable to hide a severe injury such as what my daughter had suffered and all she could muster was "I AM SORRY I HAD NO CLUE ANYTHING HAPPENED" Huh? Aren't they watching a group of 6 and 7 year olds? And there were 2 instructors for the group. I WOULD NOT TRUST ANY MAD SCIENCE SUMMER CAMP AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. ***I find it highly unusual that they have such high reviews seems suspicious and why I question every five star review*** it

I ended up having a babysitter come the remaining three days because my girls didn't want to go back to the camp (a first). There is very little structure to the camp, little to no outdoors time, and the food selection was either a bagel or pizza.....every day. There were no other options available. We packed lunches and snacks and after about a day of the camp my kids were really bored. They spent most of the time on pads or watching movies due to other activities being full when they wanted to do them. They specifically asked me to never send them to this camp again.
