I unfortunately won't buy anything through BRG again. I purchased an "oil painting" of a flower…read morevase a couple of years ago, but when I got it home I realized it was a print. I took the blame for that because I didn't inspect the painting properly when I picked it up (it was behind a plastic cover so it wasn't super easy to tell)-- otherwise I would have declined the charge. Luckily I had only paid ~$35 for it. More recently, I purchased another oil painting for $55; there were several in the lot by the same artist, so I felt comfortable bidding on the painting, and I knew to inspect the painting in person before accepting it. When I picked up the painting, it was indeed a real painting, I could see the paint textures and it looked as expected. On the drive home from the BRG warehouse, I noticed the painting was actually a print that someone had painted over randomly with real paint. In the daylight, it was clear that the background canvas was pixelated, and someone had covered up a lot of the print with real paint, and then signed the artist's name at the bottom. I hadn't noticed this when I picked up the painting because the inspection area under the awning was poorly lit. So, I guess I can blame myself for not giving these paintings a more thorough inspection, but I can also place some blame on BRG for misrepresenting these paintings (either purposefully or by not having a more rigorous process for the descriptions of these lots). And for those reasons, I can no longer purchase anything through BRG. I won another painting last year, which I believe is real, and that is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Also, the website and pickup process work reasonably well.

We have a family cuckoo clock that hangs on the wall which we had bought on a trip to Europe over…read more50 years ago. It is a European clock with the original Dutch movements. A few years ago, it started to develop problems, running erratically and with the 2 drop weights which power the clock occasionally descending unequally. The time could be off by large amounts, even a few hours. In Dec. 2020, Clocktiques sent a technician, Jason, to our house. We told Jason the history, including the age, of the clock. He claimed that the problem was principally due to the fact that the 2 drop weights were not identical and he made an adjustment. About 6 months later, the same performance problems returned. I left my clock at Clocktiques for approximately 2 months and was charged a few hundred dollars for the repairs (I note that the charge for Jason's previous work was not reimbursed). For a few months the clock functioned well, but over the next couple of years, the issues not only returned but became worse: the clock would stop completely every few months, or so. I called Rick, the owner. I then dropped off my clock for several weeks at Clocktiques. They checked the clock and told me the issues were resolved. However, the problems returned. I decided to look for a different repair shop. In Sept. 2024, a shop in Raleigh told me that my clock needed a major overhaul. They opened up all of the internal workings, including repairing/replacing some of the bushings. The technician said that the serious problems had probably been present for at least a few years, and possibly much longer. After about 2 months in the shop and charges of a few hundred dollars, my clock is now running fine (and is under lengthy warranty coverage). I called Clocktiques demanding an explanation, but Rick was not able to provide one. I am deeply disappointed with the service I received at Clocktiques. While the shop carries an attractive and catchy name, my experience suggests otherwise. This is reminiscent of your taking your car to the mechanic when you hear a loud noise from the engine. The noise goes away for a while after you have paid a large "repair" bill but, then, months later, the car stops running as you find out you what you had actually needed was an engine overhaul in the first place.

My friend wanted to go antiquing and while I've never have seriously gone before (true browsing)…read morewith a friend, I was intrigued. Whew, who knew antiquing can be so expensive?!? Most of this stuff is way overpriced. Maybe I just don't understand and I'm definitely not the target audience if I audibly say "I can get this for $5 elsewhere," but so much of the things sold here are not collectibles. Another man's trash is another man's treasure. There's a TON of stuff here. I mean, a ton! It's overwhelming and I definitely walked past a lot of it. After finding a few pieces that I personally collect and seeing the prices, I couldn't honestly stomach walking around the shop anymore. It was a huge let down and I no longer had interest in browsing. I bought some stickers to at least give them some pay for our time spent in their air conditioned shop. The staff were nice and asked if we needed any help. We weren't watched the entire time which was nice because I hate being watched when I shop. If you love antiquing and you're aware of how expensive this hobby is, then by all means, SuzAnnna's is great! I just couldn't stomach $60 for a piece of uranium glassware when I can get the same thing on eBay for less than $10. Side note, there are items that are comparable to what you can find online, but prices are all over the place here and if you're like me who seriously collects certain things, you'll see that many of the pieces sold here are overly priced.

Just so much stuffed into one place!! Some handmade items mixed in, but no obvious junk in either…read morecategory. Fun unique stuff everywhere you turn, great prices. Clean, good music, incredibly sweet and friendly staff. After offering to let me set down my first few choices so that I could continue to browse hands free, they then came through the store to find me when they noticed one of my items seemed to be missing (False alarm; I had just changed my mind and swapped it out with a different item.) My heart and soul would love to return soon, but my brain and wallet are scolding me to pace myself.
