One word of caution, though. Not to put you off visiting, but just a heads up: Larimer County only allows the winery to have 11 vehicles in their parking lot. A wine tasting reservation does secure you a spot. Long version - we were visiting Loveland, CO (from Phoenix, AZ) for a very short trip & wanted to cram in as much as we possibly could. Blendings was one of the first wineries we found doing a Google search for the area. What a fantastic place, no joke. We made the reservation online, and not gonna lie, I got nervous about the 11-car limit. I sent an e-mail to a couple of their "Contact Us" addresses. One did not go through. When I reached out to them via Facebook, someone replied almost immediately, thanking me for letting them know about the bad e-mail & also confirming that yes, a tasting reservation guarantees your car has a spot in their parking lot. Now that is excellent customer service. When we arrived this particular Thursday for our 4 o'clock reservation, it was to a gorgeous spot. Green vineyards, a babbling brook, a gorgeous & well decorated eating / tasting area, a beautiful patio for more tasting ambiance, plus a couple more covered areas in their small side yard. Katie welcomed us with a cheery hello & bright smile. She was very friendly as we navigated through our confusion over the reservation. She was giving us a 4-flight tasting when we reserved the Blendings Experience (6 flights, charcuterie plate, bottle to take home) ... or so we thought. Turns out, we weren't paying attention to their website when we signed up & clicked on the other link, the one for the 4-flight tasting. She was super sweet though & said the Blendings master could be there in 30 min if we wanted to go that route. Not wanting to rush anyone because of our screw up -- and because we were thirsty now! :-) -- we opted to go w/ the normal tasting. What a treat that was. Probably a good thing, too, because the flights were generous pours; I don't think I could have handled 2 more pours. LOL! With all the wine consumption, we ordered a veggie plate, as well as a charcuterie plate. Plus, Katie gave us some spicy saltines to go with it. Tasty! The hummus w/ the veggies had a little kick to it, & the small pita pockets were perfect. The charcuterie plate had some wonderful cheese slices, a nice selection of olives (you could choose to go w/ nuts instead of olives), plus the meat & crackers. It was so good we ordered a 2nd charcuterie. There was an excellent selection of wines to choose from the tasting menu. One or two I wanted they were out of, but we were also able to substitute from their other selections. They also had a couple special seasonal wines, as well as some cocktails, on top of a few frozen wine slushie concoctions. Too many choices. We totally should have taken an Uber/Lyft. Ha Ha! We got through our flights, then tried a few of their cocktails: Old Fashioned, Lavender Lemonade, and one of their frozen. Every single one was delicious. All in all, we spent a couple hours at Blendings. We could have spent so much longer, but then we totally would have needed a ride home. We bought a few bottles of their sweet wines: Strawberry Blonde, Caramel Apple, and Blue Me Away. It was a hard decision to make, which bottles to buy. If you are ever in the Fort Collins or Loveland area and want to have a fantastic wine-tasting experience, you should reserve a tasting at Blendings Winery. You'll have a memorable experience.

11/14/24- went to see a concert here and had a great time. First off this place is super ADA…read morefriendly in that they actually have places for people to sit in the performance area. This is great for people that can not stand for a long time and is missing from most of the venues in Colorado. They also had free water set up as a self serve station. This was also super amazing and something that other venues could learn from. I would totally see more shows here. I can't speak to the bar area since I did not drink. My friends did teach one of the bartenders how to make a Black Tooth Grin and they seemed happy with the experience on that.

They do some concerts here and then have a talent competition i believe that is weekly. We happened to go for the local talent competition with some friends. There was not a lot of folks there. Ambience was okay? Guess it was typical for a bar? Bring your ID. Even though I am in my 40s, i got carded to come in even though i wasn't even planning on drinking. My husband and friends enjoyed it there and would go back. I would go back if someone i knew was wanting to go otherwise in general its not really my scene.

Opera Fort Collins took yet another step forward with last weekend's production of "Faust." The…read moresoloists were outstanding, particularly Branch Fields as the devil. Not only did he hit all the right notes, but Fields displayed a charisma and acting ability that read beautifully to even the farthest seats from the Lincoln Center Main Stage. Fort Collins-grown soprano Tiffany Blake proved Opera Fort Collins needn't always go far afield to find top-notch performers. Her voice and acting rarely missed a beat as her character descended into the very grips of hell. Makeup and hair by Rebecca Spafford, combined with costumes by Ursula Lynch created an atmosphere that transcended the need for extensive scenery.

For being a small town, relative to other cities that are big enough to boast their own professional opera company, Ft. Collins has a very vibrant and active music and opera community. Way to go Fort Collins Opera Guild. I got a crappy seat to see Ballad of Baby Doe for $40. I've bought tickets for crappy seats at the Met for $30 and okay seats at the SF Opera for the same amount. Not happy there (esp since I took a date too), but I know they don't put on productions for several weeks at a time and sell out thousands of seats each time like the big city companies do. Overall, I enjoyed the opera very much and will absolutely attend future productions, but since I payed $40 for my ticket and was bugged by a few things, I'm going to make myself feel better with a mild rant/fume. The principal singers are very good, but there is a large gap in talent between them and the singers who perform smaller roles. It's obvious who the hired guns are on stage. The stage managing was so distracting. One of the backstage stage managers was completely visible from my seat and she wasn't even trying to hide herself or the other singers who were awaiting cues; in fact, people were even dancing in sight backstage at times. If you can see the audience, they can see you, people! At one point, a stage tech slowly popped his entire head out from behind a moving set in the middle of a gripping aria. Several people in the audience laughed. The director works so hard to put together a wonderful show (bravo!), it's a shame that these small but blazing stage errors can subtract from the production as much as they do. Also, the stage at Lincoln Center absorbs most of the sound if a singer doesn't directly face the audience. They ought to include acoustic shells in the set somehow. The pit orchestra is legit, minus the blaring tuba player (it's okay, he only plays a dozen notes the entire time and gets paid as much as anyone else) and a few flat releases at the ends of decrescendi from the winds...and I just achieved a new level of d-baggery with that comment. The conductor pretty much stuck to the instrumentalists. My bartender made a pretty good Manhattan. Again, enjoy that glass of wine or cocktail beforehand and your experience will be just fine.
