She took the time to get us comfortable with our horses, I had Montana and my wife had Sonny, and we fed them treats, she showed us how to saddle them up properly, and patiently explained how to properly ride and handle our beautiful horses. She then led us on their scenic trail through flower-bedded fields, hilly horse paths, and by a scenic lake all while she took hundreds of pictures of us throughout our journey to cherish for years to come. Carrie has a beautiful farm, stable, and even an indoor area for riding lessons and parties. Her horses are all beautiful, well-kept, trained to handle all level of riders, and obviously well-loved and cared for. I highly recommend Misty Hollow for everyone, no matter which experience you choose to partake in (trail riding, lessons, parties, equestrian, etc). I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Having ridden myself as a young person and spent time at barns, I know that they can be disorganized, badly run, and often have transient staff. On the flip side, show barns can be competitive places where some riders feel entitled and the horses are treated like things to be used and cast aside according to the rider's needs. Sauer's Riding School is neither. Because I am an animal-lover (as is my daughter), the love of the horse and its well-being comes first. The trainers at Sauer's are horse-lovers first; they are meticulous about the care of the many horses they own and care for at the barn. The lesson ponies are well-behaved as are the more advanced horses for more experienced riders. The head trainer has multiple credentials and a lifetime of experience with horses. She is an excellent trainer of both horse and rider. Learners must practice grooming as well as riding and are taught to be independent. The atmosphere at the barn is professional, warm, friendly, supportive and fun. The riders who are drawn to this barn always seem to have like interests and really care about the horses. Whenever we are there for a lesson, I see the same faces tending to the horses they board there and preparing for a ride. I recommend this riding school because I trust the owners' conscientiousness with the riders and the horses; I recognize the quality of the instruction; and it is a kind and warm place for my daughter to learn and experience the joy of horses. My daughter is now 10, and we would not ride anywhere else.

This has to be one of the best barns I have ever boarded my horse at. We moved my horse a few…read moremonths ago to this barn and everyone at the barn is very friendly. The management is doing an impressive job. They had just replaced all of the lighting in the indoor ring, and the ring has such good lighting and good lighting is in my opinion one of the best qualities to have in a barn. The footing in both the indoor and outdoor rings has some memory foam in it to help horses trip less often, and the outdoor ring is massive. It is bigger than the indoor that is how big it is. And the indoor is big as well. I can see that they are doing such a good job. In fact if you come earlier in the day, the barn tends to have a clean smell. The trainer, Jess is also really nice and helpful. The manager lives on-site, which makes me feel like the horses are all safe no matter what. What I mean is that the house is literally attached to the barn. There are two sides, one for Jess and the other is the same purpose, but Jess spends her time on the other side. The ring runs down the middle of the barns, connecting the two sides. The stalls are MASSIVE. The barn has two tack rooms and two feed rooms, one tack room on each side, one feed room on each side. Both of the tack rooms are massive, one bigger than the other but they are both perfect for everyone. This barn is completely devoid of birds, which is one of the best things since many barns tend to have many birds. There are three cats that help with that. Everyone at the barn is extremely kind and willing to help one another.

Vicki Peters is a great teacher who can clearly communicate what you need to be doing. I am learning new things, and breaking old habits. She is very easy to talk to and ask questions. In addition, the horse I get to ride during lessons is the biggest and nicest horse I've ever ridden and is a great teacher in his own right. Lastly, the facilities are beautiful, the horse owners I've met are friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I have driven past the Quiet Victory Farm sign on Rt 579 for years. I'm so glad I finally acted. I'm back to riding and learning again with a terrific equine partner.
