I had originally called the company to make sure I qualified for the bridge program and I did. Upon my almost 2 hr drive to his facility they informed me I was not covered and would have to pay $300! After deciding to just go with the removal, he then said he would do it for $200. I still politely declined and that's when he turned sour. He got very short and I wasn't even numbed when he went to cut into my arm, and it was a painful experience. He had me sign the paper and that was it. Me and my husband were very disappointed with our visit with Dr Wool this time around and will not be back. I would only come back for the nurses. Nothing else. Bad vibes were very present today.

The lady on the phone (wish I'd gotten her name) was SUPER-sweet; giving me all the info I'd need, timing, paperwork, website, directions etc. She was SO sweet. I hung up smiling. It's a rare thing nowadays to find a friendly Doctor's receptionist, most of them are mean with a capital 'B' !! My second experience was calling a couple days later to say "I can't wait a week to see you. Can you please see if there's a way to get me in sooner?" to which she searched and was able to get me in same-day. Now I realize this was probably luck, but i was THRILLED not to have to wait since I was concerned about what was going on with me. Fast forward to the day of my appointment, and man did I continue to be impressed! A NICE office, with sturdy furniture, and comfy chairs. FRIENDLY receptionists. I waited no longer than 8-10 minutes and was brought into the room. The doctor walked in within about 60 seconds. I saw Doctor Witkowski. He was very-friendly. Walked into the room cracking jokes, and introducing himself. He seemed to listen to what I was saying, looked me over, and explained what he thought it was. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. Everyone was great, and I felt very comfortable. They get 5 stars in my book ALL AROUND: receptionists, waiting room, Doctors, cleanliness & friendliness, etc... If you find yourself in need of a surgeon, check them out.

All I'm told is to exercise while my tendons are detaching from his surgery. He made me a cripple and praying my next surgery can repair the damage he caused. I'm told the wear and tear walking with a limp has caused my hip damage and told I'll now need a hip replacement from it. Beware! I have all the evidence in MRI. And X-rays showing the damage. Plus his bedside manner sucks. Not the most personable guy! But I don't care about that I cared if he was a good surgeon or not!

However, I take exception to his belief that he knows everything, including things that are outside his scope of expertise. As he was examining my hip, I mentioned how my chiropractor had told me that my pectineus muscle seemed to be the issue. Dr. Seeds responded by telling me how the chiropractor was blowing smoke up my ass, as the muscle is very deep and internal and impossible to examine/diagnose without some type of scan or opening me up. The PT that Dr. Seeds prescribed helped somewhat, but did not completely resolve my hip issue/pain. Still in some pain, I later sought out another doctor, who examined my hip with ultrasound. Lo and behold: my pectineus had quite a bit of damage in the form of non-thickness tears, corroborating the chiropractor's diagnosis. Turns out the snake oil salesman of a chiropractor could do what Dr. Seeds said was impossible. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that Dr. Seeds was wrong about what is possible because he doesn't know anything about chiropractic treatment/care/abilities. When seeing Dr. Seeds, my advice would be to trust him in anything regarding his specialty, but whenever he steps out of his lane take it with a grain of salt, as he seems to feel that the depth of his knowledge in his expertise allows him to make assertions about things outside of his expertise.

At our initial consultation on June 12, he was polite but seemed rushed and didn't spend much time discussing details. Still, he offered to perform the procedure at a reasonable price, so I decided to move forward. The surgery itself went smoothly, but recovery was incredibly painful. I couldn't stand upright for weeks. By January, I noticed swelling in my upper abdomen, which I initially assumed was just part of the healing process. Unfortunately, the bulge continued to grow rapidly, and I knew something wasn't right. I called Dr. Madry's office and was told he was leaving the country and wouldn't be available for another two weeks. At that point, the swelling was about the size of a lemon and getting bigger every day. When I expressed my concern, I was shocked by how I was treated. The office staff was dismissive, defensive, and even blamed me for not coming in sooner. Dr. Madry later called me from overseas and also made me feel shamed and at fault. They referred me to another surgeon at Good Shepherd who was covering for him, but I was told he wouldn't be able to see me for another week. Meanwhile, the bulge had grown to the size of a grapefruit. After some research, I realized I was likely dealing with a seroma--a fluid-filled pocket left behind after surgery. As a professional photographer, this growing mass made it extremely difficult to work. In desperation, I contacted my previous surgeon in Chicago, Dr. Michael Lee, who drained a significant amount of fluid from the area. I continued to see him for repeat aspirations--about ten times--until it became clear that this was not sustainable financially or logistically. Emotionally drained and hesitant to return to Dr. Madry after my experience, I resorted to draining it myself every few days. It's a painful and risky process, involving sterilizing the area and inserting a four-inch needle into my abdomen. Dr. Lee has now advised that I'll need another surgery to permanently resolve the seroma. It will cost $5,000 and require two weeks off work. I've had over ten surgeries in my life and never had any issues--until now. This has been my worst medical experience. Not only is the seroma still present, but the incision from the tummy tuck is large and poorly done. I also continue to have significant swelling that gives the appearance of a pot belly--on top of the seroma in my upper abdomen. Looking back, I deeply regret not investing in a more experienced and compassionate surgeon. I wish I had paid more for someone who would've treated me with care and delivered better results. This has been emotionally, physically, and financially devastating.

I don't think hip replacement can be any better that that...unless it can also be pain free...and mine was that also. To very briefly summarize my experience, I hobbled in with pretty severe pain in the morning and walked out with a new hip, the aid of a walker and NO pain by late afternoon. The walker was gone the next day and the cane a few days later. Throughout, what "pain" I've experienced is no more than a few physical therapy induced muscle aches as my body relearns how to move. Hip replacement techniques have advanced greatly in recent years. Dr. Palmer and The Hip and Knee Center are among the pioneers and leaders in the evolution of one very significant improvement called the "anterior approach". My research leading up to surgery indicated that this method offered so many benefits that it was really the only way to go. The result of my surgery proved that my assumption was correct and that Dr. Palmer's skills in the technique are unsurpassed. Beyond the successful result, Dr. Palmer's entire team deserves compliments. Everyone involved, including Dr. Palmer, his staff, colleagues and support facilities and services (in my case, this included Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center and Valley Medical Inn), are clearly patient centered, exuding a very comforting, quiet confidence in their ability and a sincere desire to provide the patient with the best of care along with a minimum of stress and pain. Across the board, all of these people seem to function in that rare place where extraordinary is the minimum expected norm. I sincerely thank all of them.
