Stay far away from Dr Seeds. Botch surgery. Now I have to have another knee surgery by a more reputable surgeon. It's been pure agony! All I'm told is to exercise while my tendons are detaching from his surgery. He made me a cripple and praying my next surgery can repair the damage he caused. I'm told the wear and tear walking with a limp has caused my hip damage and told I'll now need a hip replacement from it. Beware! I have all the evidence in MRI. And X-rays showing the damage. Plus his bedside manner sucks. Not the most personable guy! But I don't care about that I cared if he was a good surgeon or not! read more

I went to see Dr. Seeds for a hip/groin issue. He did some examination and prescribed some physical therapy, which proved somewhat helpful. Standard protocol, really. However, I take exception to his belief that he knows everything, including things that are outside his scope of expertise. As he was examining my hip, I mentioned how my chiropractor had told me that my pectineus muscle seemed to be the issue. Dr. Seeds responded by telling me how the chiropractor was blowing smoke up my ass, as the muscle is very deep and internal and impossible to examine/diagnose without some type of scan or opening me up. The PT that Dr. Seeds prescribed helped somewhat, but did not completely resolve my hip issue/pain. Still in some pain, I later sought out another doctor, who examined my hip with ultrasound. Lo and behold: my pectineus had quite a bit of damage in the form of non-thickness tears, corroborating the chiropractor's diagnosis. Turns out the snake oil salesman of a chiropractor could do what Dr. Seeds said was impossible. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that Dr. Seeds was wrong about what is possible because he doesn't know anything about chiropractic treatment/care/abilities. When seeing Dr. Seeds, my advice would be to trust him in anything regarding his specialty, but whenever he steps out of his lane take it with a grain of salt, as he seems to feel that the depth of his knowledge in his expertise allows him to make assertions about things outside of his expertise. read more

I cannot even begin to describe my experience with this place. I literally had to walk out of my appointment today. When making my appointment, I made sure to ask if Dr. Alpert performed hip surgeries. The scheduling assistant said he did and he is booking 1-2 weeks out for surgeries. I am in so much pain, my life has been very limited. I came here with my toddler and had to keep her busy because they were taking so long to see me. My appointment was at 12:30. I didn't get a room until 1:00pm. I was told to put shorts on. I waited and waited. Finally at 1:15 an assistant came and told me that "Dr. Alpert does NOT do hip surgeries, even though the website says he does" and they would do cortisone shots which might tide me over "for a couple years"... she told me the doctor would be in to see me. Then he never came in. At 1:30pm I was so upset I just got dressed and left. No one even said anything to me as I left. I would not recommend this place whatsoever. Very unprofessional. Stay away! The doctor I saw (Barrington) treated me like I was an uneducated idiot! He told me that "ideally we should be the same weight" when we were 16 years old! He said how the series of 3 injections in the knees only works for men!!! "ALL women sway their hips and wear down their knees and the injections would not work well!" HE ACTUALLY WALKED INCHES IN FRONT ME WITH HIS HANDS ON HIS HIPS WIGGLING HIS HIPS! It's obviously all about "trophies" of knee replacements on his shelf and pockets full of money for his Florida condo! Staff reminded me of the high school gossip girls! They were reviewing my insurance card and whispering as I stood at the window. I decided to be as rude as they were...I clarified I was well aware they did NOT accept my insurance card. I instructed them I thoroughly understood "self pay". And, when they sent a non-working "Patient Portal" to access your info; IT DID NOT WORK. INCLUDING THE PHONE NUMBER TO CALL! The doctor had the ultrasound machine brought into the room for a cortisone injection procedure. The ultrasound machine was NEVER used, yet my insurance was billed for a cortisone injection with ultrasound. They investigated after I insisted it was billed wrong and was then told they confirmed that the ultrasound machine was not used and would submit a new claim. I have been calling billing for months to have the claim resubmitted. I have been told repeatedly that they resubmitted the claim, yet I keep receiving late notices and BCBSIL have not received a revised claim. I have left 4 or 5 messages for the manager or the billing department and now a message for the CFO. Yet, nobody will return my calls. This is insurance fraud. read more

I would never go back here, at least to the doctor I saw (Dr. Alpert); and maybe not any of them if this is how they operate. I was having very bad groin pain, wasn't able to walk without pain and a limp, and wasn't able to bend down. He looked only at the hip x-ray I had taken at NW Community Treatment Center several months prior and did a few leg manipulations, before saying "Well you have arthritis in your hip." Yes, I know that; but I'm unable to walk without pinching pain! He gave me a Rx for an anti-inflammatory (Mobic), which didn't help. Never said let's get an MRI and see if there's anything more going on. About a month ago, I went to Dr. Peter Thadani with Illinois Bone & Joint in Grayslake. They took their own x-rays but also sent me for an MRI of both hips (as now my left hip was also hurting because I wasn't using my right leg). The MRI showed SEVERE arthritis in both hips! I am scheduled for hip replacement surgery (first, the left hip). This doctor needs to improve his listening skills and not be so cavalier about his diagnostic skills, which need improvement. I thought he was very arrogant also. See Dr. Thadani of IBJI; he listens and is very thorough. Don't see Dr. Alpert! read more

I saw Dr. Seeds for a problem with my hand. They took an xray and then he spent a total of 3 minutes talking to me. I think he touched my hand once. He never went over the xrays with me. I had to ask if he saw arthritis, he did not but I should have not had to ask him. He gave me no diagnosis or any idea what I could to get my hand working again. He sent me for another expensive MRI. I was billed and I tried to pay the bill but it was never processed because they had the wrong address on their own invoice! When I called because they were trying to put my account into collections they hung up on me! They had no answer for why they would have the wrong address on their invoice. Oh and I was also on hold for more than 15 minutes and I was the only caller on hold. I know this because it states which number you are in line. I will NEVER go to any of their offices again and I will make sure to share this with everyone. read more

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. Dr. Joshua Alpert has repaired two tendons for me in the last 5 years; a ruptured left Patellar tendon and torn right Achilles. Both surgeries were performed flawlessly and recovery was problem-free. Dr. Alpert and his entire staff are the best medical professionals I've ever encountered. They're knowledgeable, professional, friendly and efficient. If myself or anyone in my family needs an Orthopedic Surgeon ever again we will go to Dr. Alpert. read more

My teenage son recently was injured during a sport activity. We were refereed to Dr. Alpert by our GP. I was very impressed with his office, the lovely office staff, and by far Dr. Alpert. I found him to be very knowledgeable about sports related injuries. He worked well and communicated with my son in such a way that my son found him extremely nice. My son was comfortable asking him questions and discussing his care Its difficult these days to meet a doctor who will take the time with patients and explain in detail the injury, the course of action, & remedies. Dr. Alert took the time to help my son understand the brace he would wear, how it worked, and then again with the next stage. We had to attend several office visits. Again the lovely staff was very kind in meeting our needs with our crazy schedule while making return appointments. I will recommend Dr. Alpert to anyone I know with any bone injury. I just saw dr. Savino. I read the reviews couple of days ago and I was worried that I won't get the help I need. I did wait for my appointment longer then I should but it was worth it. The doctor spend a lot of time with me, asked questions and answered mine. He gave me clear instructions, and explained what my issue is. I think I am in good hands, especially that he was recommended to me by my aunt. She had her hip replaced by Dr. Savino and she is very happy with results. The physical therapy is right there in the same building, and all the staff was helpful, friendly and professional. read more

I fractured my wrist falling on ice. I had an appt. Dr came in looked at my wrist ask if it hurt. I said not right now. But I do lift at work. Do you want a ace bandage? What about the cyst on the X Ray? Oh that's normal the Dr said. Well I was there 15 mins and they charged $1,300. I am still paying the bill. And guess what my wrist is hurting worst now then almost a year ago. They over charge you never will I ever go to this rip off place!! My X Ray at the emergency room was $600. read more

I went to see Dr. Gitelis at the recommendation of my brother, a former college athlete. My knee started hurting about a week ago due to the fact that I have a newly mobile baby in the house and I've been chasing him around on my hands and knees. So my left knee started aching all around the joint, i'm not sure why, and I was just going to go to my regular practitioner. After my brother's recommendation and due to the fact that this particular pain is worse than any other musculoskeletal pain I've had, I decided to go to a specialist. I had no problem with the receptionist or the waiting room... But the doctor and the nurse both were very impatient, rushed, and kind of rude. They acted like I was wasting their time, and I did not get any feedback whatsoever on why my knee might be hurting, other than "your x-rays are perfect." He barely even took the time to listen to me describe the pain. I left with no peace of mind and no resolution. I wasted a $40 copay to see this "specialist" who was apparently too much of a big deal to care about my obviously injured knee. read more

In all honesty, I wasn't able to make it past the initial phone call to schedule an appointment. The phone call was around two minutes long, and left me irate at the belligerence and attitude that the women answering the phone. As soon as their receptionist picked up the phone she practically yelled the name of the office and offered no segway into a conversation such as "how may I help you?". When I decided to break the silence and ask to see a one Dr. Savino I was promptly answered with "why do you need to see Dr Savino" a normal question that was asked with such malice as to make me feel like some kind of criminal asking for personal information. When I tried to explain the severity of my back pain to this receptionist, I was cut off mid sentence to be told "all of our back doctors are out for weeks." At this point during whatever next she was going to yell at me, I cut her off and told her that the conversation was over and I would not be making an appointment due to her rudeness. She began with more belligerence before I hung up on them. This is a doctor's office, with patients that need help, but this receptionist clearly didn't give a darn. read more
