My office arranged for our whole team to do Fox in the Box as part of a staff training/retreat. It was a ton of fun and the owners were great at briefing and debriefing us before and after in a way that related to working as a team, different leadership styles, etc. Great non-cheesy teambuilding experience! My group did the zombie room and I was SUPER impressed at the production value and the seamlessness of the "lab" environment. The puzzles and challenges required many different approaches and were technically/mechanically interesting (not just solving number puzzles or finding hidden keys). I happen to love zombies and the creepy vibe was lots of fun (but not over-the-top gory or scary). I'd rate it PG-13, I think. The overall experience incorporated lights, sounds, video, props, secret spaces...it was perfectly immersive. The whole experience lasts about an hour. They currently have two rooms: zombie lab and diamond heist. The diamond heist is supposedly slightly more challenging, but the zombie room didn't feel overly easy either. I also love that this place is owned by a young enthusiastic couple, UA grads interested in bringing something cool to the community! read more

This was my first escape room experience and I completely loved it! If you're a fan of hidden object games, puzzles or adventure games I'd highly recommend it. I came here with a group of twelve for a club event so we split up into two groups. My group took the zombie room ("medium" level) and the other group took the bank heist ("hard" level). We saved the world, they were arrested. They brief you before the game and I was antsy and just wanted to get started but the briefing was really important in preventing you from wasting time. I really enjoyed the puzzles because they weren't just guessing/process of elimination type of things which makes it more satisfying and less frustrating. This is a really fun escape room. They have three options ranging in difficulty, we went into the one for a zombie apocalypse. The rooms are challenging but it gets easier if you have more people in your group. They're good at giving you hints and there's a video screen that can show what's happening outside the "lab" while you're working. Interactive and really fun! read more

I went to this escape room with my dad and it was the most exiting thing we have done in years because you had to use your brain to figure things out and you even got hints every 10 minutes that turn out to be very useful, a recommendation that you could use is to use the things the employee says because it turns out to be very useful. read more

(They don't discount children, and the pricing was not really explained to us. ) We did the zombie room and what a let down. It looked like they just went dumpster diving and decorated the room with those items and called it good. It was like they put absolutely no effort or thought in the appearance or ambience of the room. After we were done one of the staff members told us that the Western theme would've been better for kids. I wish the person who took our money at the actual location would've let us know. (They were not enthusiastic at all about helping us or explaining how anything worked, and it felt like we were bothering them by being there.) So I don't know who all these other people are talking about that were so great because those employees were not present when we were there. read more

Very impressed with the customer service, explanation of "what to do", and the overall experience. Not sure how often the room themes are changed around but when we went, they had the zombie theme and the bank theme. Especially enjoyed the fact that we were able to actually solve the clues/puzzles...I initially expected to be stuck in there for quite a while. Best put together rooms I've been to so far. Directions were clear. We did the Bank room it was really cool. I liked hearing all the statistics after we finished. Escape room enthusiast here with 125+ rooms under my belt, I feel like I have a good idea of what rooms should be like and what to expect. My bf & I headed down to Tucson from the valley to do some rooms. We were originally booked for both their Zombie Lab and Bank Heist rooms. And while labs, science and zombies are not in the realm of where our interests lie, we did it anyways because it got really good reviews. In fact, both of the rooms has great reviews. I liked the Zombie Lab. I think it was very well done and it had some unique puzzles that we hadn't seen before. I always enjoy being impressed with things like that. There is one task in the room that does not require any brains and is more of a physical task (but don't worry, it's nothing you work up a sweat over) and while I guess it was ok and kinda neat, I don't prefer to see those kind of elements in escape rooms. To me, escape rooms should be about your wits not any physical abilities. We then did their Bank Heist room and we enjoyed this one quite well. Again, there were different than your typical puzzles and we really appreciated that. There was one snafu though when the GM reset the room prior to us starting. He forgot to leave a very important piece of paper in the room that, without it, the puzzle was impossible to solve. So we were forced to use a hint. There is another puzzle where you have to be able to identify various famous landmarks across the world and also know the currency type in these countries. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the room to help you with this if you don't know it. Same thing with another puzzle involving country flags. You can likely guess through it if you don't know it, otherwise you're forced to ask for a clue. I feel like this is an area for improvement and that all of the information you need to solve any puzzle should be available in the room. We did ok with these puzzles though so it wasn't a big deal for us but I still think the information should be available somewhere in the room, if needed. There were some fun and clever puzzles in the vault and we really enjoyed them. After we finished the second room, we were asked if we wanted to try out their third room while we were there since it had just opened (less than one week ago, I believe) and they were interested in getting some feedback from enthusiasts on it. We are usually very leery of doing a room when it first opens because all of the kinks typically haven't been smoothed out yet but we were on a high from having escaped their first two rooms and we liked them quite a bit. So we decided to go for it, fully expecting it to be equally as good. Their third room is a Wild West room. It is aesthetically pleasing and has a neat vibe to it even though Wild West themed rooms are very overdone at this point, IMO. While the room had unique puzzles that could've been fun to do, there were repeated fails because some of the things weren't working correctly. This became very frustrating, very fast. Unfortunately, it got to the point where I was frustrated enough to where I, mentally, checked out and just wasn't that into the game anymore. And that's a bad place to be. Also, the final thing you have to do to solve the room is a bit anti-climatic. But had everything worked as it was supposed to, we probably would've liked the room. But the multiple mechanical fails and the multiple interruptions from the GM to come in and fix it, really just ruined the experience. The GM (owner Neil) was very apologetic, empathetic and a little embarrassed, which I appreciate. But we spent almost $80 for just the two of us to play that room (and it was at their request), on top of just doing their other two rooms as well and we definitely did not get an $80 experience from this room. I'm disappointed with how our time at Fox in the Box ended and wish we hadn't agreed to do the Wild West room after all. Save your money for now so you're not their guinea pigs, too. Give them more time to work out the bugs and then try it. read more

Our group of 4 engineers tried out the bank robbery room and everyone agreed it was awesome! The bank was perfect for 4 people, it spanned 3 rooms and good spacing. We had a lot of puzzles that could be worked on simultaneously or rotated through so not everyone was clustered up together staring at any one single problem. The puzzles are varied and inventive, and are they are dense enough that you will want to use your clues -- it isn't just giving you the answer, so there's still a bit of thinking involved which still kept it interesting! The owners were super friendly and helpful even though I had to keep changing appointment times. We'll definitely be back again for the other room. read more

Fox in a Box was super fun! I'd been to another Escape Room in the past and it was very small, the puzzles were not very interesting and it was also kind of confusing. But the Zombie Room at Fox in a Box was great. A good challenge for those who don't want to rush through it, but not undoable and frustrating. The owners were amazing too. After we finished the room, they came in to congratulate us but also to spend time talking with us about the experience and asking what we thought and if everything was fair. I'm sure they must get bored talking to everyone about the same room, but they seemed genuinely interested in what we thought and how to make it better. The room itself was great! So many great and unique puzzles and I loved how they incorporated technology and items into it instead of just looking at pieces of paper. I can't wait to go back and try the other room. read more

This was my first ever escape room experience and I absolutely loved it! I came with a group of 6 of us (which is the maximum per room) and we all had a blast! The owners of the place are super friendly and very knowledgeable do they were able to give us a brief history of escape rooms. It doesn't matter if you have never done an escape room or are someone who loves them and have done a lot of them, these rooms are for you. We did both rooms at this location and thought both rooms were great. The zombie lab room is a bit easier than the bank room so if you've never done one you might start in the zombie lab, and no there is no zombie in the room with you. The owners were fantastic and also fantastic at being game masters for their games. I loved their booking/reservation system. We like to play rooms by ourselves and not be combined with people we don't know so it worked well for us. We also liked their hint system, one of the best we have experienced. You really must do these rooms if you like or even want to try escape rooms. It is located on University so there will be plenty of food options in the area if you want to grab a bite to eat before or after you play. read more

I have always been a fan of escape games online and have even previously tried a real escape room in California (which was not very fun and pretty disappointing) and decided to bring my club's executive board to this new Escape Room in town as a team building exercise. And it was INCREDIBLE! So much fun to be a part of, they really did well with all the different elements and making it difficult yet logical. It was such a fun experience for all of us and we escaped with 7:53 to spare. The adrenaline and coming together as a team towards the end was great!
