I went here a couple Saturday mornings ago with a group of about six. It was the first time playing paintball for all of us, which staff was aware of. The staff was very friendly however it did seem to be a bit disorganized. For instance, they did an orientation for the first group initially there at opening however they did not do another orientation for anyone that may have come after they opened. I was under the impression that they would be doing another one when I asked and they said they were. So I did not attend that orientation since I was still waiting for the remainder of my group. Once my group bought tickets, we sat under a Ramada and waited until it was our turn to start a game. However, no one actually approached us to let us know it was time. We watched a referee approach another group and tell them it was time as well as their group letter. When we bought tickets, no one told us our group letter. There was another group nearby with the same issue and we both had to approach ticketing to learn our group letters, which were in fact with the group which was ready to play. Once getting on the field to play, there are so many different games you could play which is really cool and they do a good job explaining them to you. h However, they never explained how to use the gun. Once the game started, I found my gun didn't work and had to find out from nearby kids that it did not have air, which I did not realize I needed to check. I also don't understand why I was given a gun with no air when we were there at opening. One of the staff apologized that he forgot to let us know about this. He was very friendly. So we filled my gun with air. But going back, my gun still didn't work for the 2nd game, so I had to learn from the referee how to use the gun, making this the 2nd game that I was still unable to use the gun. If they were to give more clarity to new guests upon starting play, I think this would really improve the experience for beginners. The course seem to be extensive and they sell snacks, including full size bags of chips. For $45 they give you 500 paintballs, the gun, and the helmet and allow you to play until your paintballs are done. My group was able to play about Five or six games. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and had a good time. I would return. read more

Yes we had a Groupon but even if we had to pay full price we will return! My son decided to paintball for his 12th birthday and he had a blast! He has been home for about 4 hours now and he hasn't stopped talking about it! Yes he has some bruises and he is sore but all the excitement he has taken over and he doesn't feel any pain! The staff were excellent and very understanding even when I made a reservation for the wrong day! My son is already making plans to return soon! Just in case if you have little ones, my 8 year old went and we didn't think he was going to like it but he loved it! He has a couple of bruises but he held back the tears and didn't give up! We shall return but next time I'll make sure my dad wears shoes! read more

We had our soccer team parties here and the staff were so friendly, helpful and it was an all around great time! Lots of courses to switch it up every game. It was nice that they had covered seating areas for those not participating to hang out. We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks. We had an awesome AWESOME paintball experience here. The business hours posted on the Yelp App are wrong. It has 2 sessions on Sat: 9-1, and 2-6. If you search for a Groupon, you will probably end up finding one for a small discount. There are multiple fields and my favorite is the helicopter field. The referees are very good at monitoring time and switching fields for teams. We went to the morning session, and the actual field shooting didn't start until 10:20ish after the instructions and pairings. We played straight until 1 PM, each session lasting around 10-15 mins and then 5 mins for resting. It is the best to go with a group of friends. It is the most fun when you are willing to be vulnerable and expose yourself to the enemies. We all ended up with a couple bruises, but man they were so worth it! read more

Been to many paintball fields and I'd have to say this is one of the best! Ony downside to paintballing is the cost of paint. It is quite expensive here and I wish they would drop prices. But if you want to have fun, then buying paint is the price you pay. read more

Disruptive used the be Paintball Headquarters. This review is on the store and the field. I have paintballed and airsofted at their field. I used to play paintball when it was owned by Paintball Headquarters. It was family owned and really set up as affordable as a expensive sport gets. The biggest cost to paintball is the paintballs themselves. Being able to bring in your own paintballs made this game affordable to lower income families and players. It also helped keep their field paint they offered at a reasonable price. And just like most everything else in life you get what you pay for but at least you can go and play. Paintball headquarters always used to say fields that make you buy their field paint just want to make extra money and I couldn't agree more. The worst part is the paint the field offers is high cost and mid range paint. So even if you wanted to bring high dollar paint you don't have the option. The only time PH said you had to use their paint was in their rentals to help protect their guns. This to me is a huge dis-service to the people. Paintball is a sport slowly going downhill. The cost of just what you need to play every week is just becoming too much for a lot of families. And making you buy their field paint is just discouraging more and more people from a great sport. They are trying to capitalize a little too hard on being the only speed ball field in Tucson and because of this fact in my option causes a few more problems for the field. Now paintball and their fields. The fields are pretty good I really don't have too many complaints here. The biggest problem is their regulars. They have really good regulars that come as a group that want to stay in a group. I know I would want to stay in a party I came with as well. But when every game your getting slaughtered by people with better gear its harder to enjoy the game. A lot of people starting out dont have the money to dump 500-1700 into a gun and another 500-1000 in gear for it. This kind of money difference can really set a steep difference between players. These groups need to be broken up. It just keeps the game more even and much more enjoyable. Airsoft is pretty close to good. The biggest problem I have is they cater just a little too much to their regulars. If you ask the ref to chrono (check how fast there gun is shooting a bb) he'll just tell you they are regulars their guns are below. But the second a regular wants your gun to be chrono'd the ref will pull you aside take your gun and chrono it himself. Only other problem I have is the they allow grenades on their smallest field The Drum Field. All you have to do is throw a tennis ball at the start of the game and wipe out all/a lot of the players on the other side. Forcing you to leave right as the game has started. Now I understand any place wanting to make sure their regulars have a good time. Thats great! But if doing so makes more and more new players not come back or not want to get into either sport in my option you have a huge problem. What happens if those regulars get tired of the sport? Now not only have you lost them you have lost the 20-50 people that didnt come back because you catered so much too him. Id personally like both sports to grow and would really like to be able to go paintballing more. But the way the field is currently setup I don't see that happening any time soon. The store has great selection for a real store for paintball and airsoft. They brag a little to hard about being the biggest airsoft dealer in Tucson when no one else has a store to sell airsoft stuff. So being the biggest when its only you is a little lame. They have paintball techs but last time I was in there no airsoft techs. Now they have 1-2 guys that will work on your airsoft guns under the table. The problem in doing this is there is no accountability on the store if something goes wrong or isnt installed right. I also know a kid who was ripped off by them and sold a "high modded and custom KWA" that turned out to have junk internals no mods and even lower quality parts then stock. But got taken advantage of because his mom and him didn't know enough to know any better. I really thought everyone in there was trust worthy but clearly someone is a little shady. They did return the gun and apologized for the "confusion" only offered his mom store credit which to me was rude because pulling something like that doesn't deserve my business. read more

Recently went there for my husbands birthday gathering and always have a good time there with all our friends which we go there as a bonding time with my work with CHUZE fitness always our go to place . I was very thankful for the staff there specially Gale who was able to accommodate our special needs that day which she she truly was able to go above and beyond to make my husbands birthday just perfect. The staff there in general especially owners are always so nice and helpful and always smiling. Except for one older gentlemen who came off rude to our first timers there. But overall Gale executed Great customer service . Only suggestion is the field could use a little TLC when it came to the courses and everything around them made it seem a just a little dirty.. But all the fun we had and how nice the staff and owners were. we could look past that :) read more

This was the second year in a row we had our whole family gather for a holiday paintball war at Disruptive Paintball (20 people). The staff is very friendly, the fields are fun, and everyone had a great time. The only complaint is that our deposit was supposed to go toward our total cost, and it didn't. However, they did honor two passes that had expired, so it worked out in the end. I just wished they would be consistent with policy. Refs were awesome. Great experience for my kids who were new to playing. There are five fields that provide a variety and the refs will even mix up the games. The players were divided by their ability and skill levels which made it a better experience for each type of player. Their field paint was of good quality and a fair price. read more

My favorite place to paintball in the Tucson area. I love visiting disruptive and have gone there for two years. I love the friendly staff, multiple maps, location, gun checks, ammo restrictions (no frozen balls) and groupon deals. I'll continue to play paint ball here for years to come. read more

This weekend I took my son and five friends to Disruptive. All the boys had an awesome time! I was so impressed with the organization of the event (although it was a little rocky getting the game started). The guy who gave the orientation was thorough and while clearly focused on safety, he also made it fun. I love that this place is a family owned and operated venture! My son said his favorite field was "Western Town." The games moved along quickly with just enough time in between for the kids to drink water and catch their breath. Our ref was super as well. So I decide to give one star let me explain why So my sister gave a gift card for the holidays that she bought from a sales agent who stop by her office to sell her a pack of 5 give cards for 20$ you get one free when you buy four. good deal right ? well the gift card says its a 30$ value so me and my wife and my sister and her eight year old decide to go and play some paint ball when we arrived we were all charge 20$ each on top of our gift cards. we ask why when my sister bought the gift cards from there sells rep had said we would only have to pay 5$ on top of our gift cards? they lady explain it was to cover some of the rental cost and paint balls but the gift card said all the stuff was covered the mask the gun and the only thing we had to pay for was the actual paint balls. another thing i notice was there is no price break for children which is weird because there was a lot of children there. so they team you up depending on your level of experience with a group. so the rules are don't take your mask off in the field my sisters kid who never played paint ball before took his mask off after the game and the reef yelled at him and told him he had sit out next game ,really? a little kid who never played before was put in time out because the reef cant see hes a beginner. the place is hard to find and the staff is just a bunch kids some of the stuff is over priced but when you get past all that and you get to play it is fun I would suggest buying a good gun because the rentals jam up a lot and the mask they give you fog up pretty bad during play time and make sure to bring the worst clothes you don't want to ruin your good clothes. also they have no restrooms only a port o potty and the sell snacks that of course are over priced and no water fountains of course when you can buy water bottles. read more
