We ended up buying a pest control service plan with Fox Pest Control after one of their salesmen came to our door with a fairly confusing offer. When we received the first bill for services we quickly realized we had been hoodwinked. We then allowed Fox to convince us that it is necessary to treat for termites, because our neighborhood shows "increased activity." We subsequently found that termite activity was not found at our home, therefore we canceled that plan. The issue with this company is that the salespeople will do anything to make the sale, justified or not. However, the techs seem to be on the level. The technicians performing the services were very professional and knowledgeable. We kept the plan throughout the summer months and canceled it in the Fall due to tħe high cost of maintaining the plan through the winter. read more

Absolutely unacceptable. On a holiday evening around 6PM, a Fox Pest Control representative approached me outside my home -- uninvited -- trying to sell pest control services. I declined politely, but then he told me he had "been drinking so much water" and asked to come inside my home to use the bathroom. Seriously? That's completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I told him no, especially since my boyfriend was inside asleep, and the entire situation made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. To make matters worse, I didn't see him knock on a single other door in the neighborhood. It felt less like a business call and more like I was being targeted, which is terrifying. Fox Pest Control, you need to train your employees better -- no one should ever be asking to enter someone's home like that, especially a woman alone outside. A sales representative just came to our door at 8:30 PM uninvited, knocking loudly and then rang the door bell trying to sell services door to door. It is clearly posted on the entrance of our subdivision "NO SOLICITATION". I would be very wary of utilizing their services since they apparently cannot read and that would seem dangerous to to me when they would need to read the labels of the various chemicals they use. I tried to contact them via phone and their website said they were open till 9 pm, but kept getting message that it was outside their business hours, not sure if this is also due to their inability to read or perhaps keeping time is an issue as well. read more

Fox Pest Control needs to train it's workers better. I have three no soliciting signs in front of my house. THREE They aren't easy to miss either. I was in my kitchen making lunch for my dog when someone starts pounding on my glass kitchen side door. I look through the glass and there's a Fox Pest Control guy standing there. So this dude saw all three signs not to solicit and decided to avoid the front door altogether and then he proceeds to peep through the glass side door of my home and found me inside. Strange men peering into windows/doors is NOT OKAY. I don't care who they work for. I told him I was not interested in the product he was selling and he starts asking strange questions like do I have pets? Do I have a dog? Beyond weird! Fox Pest Control (Lexington, KY)= Where not only do they force you to sign an arbitration agreement, they refuse to uphold the quote they gave you, in writing, and signed. In other words, they are dishonest; though they may say that their : "number one priority is to develop and strengthen lasting relationships with our employees, customers, and anyone with whom we come in contact. We love being here, and being able to serve the Lexington community"... they make you sign and arbitration agreement, so that if they're negligent and poison the family pet "FOX shall not be responsible or liable for any of the following: [ ] Injury or death to animals or pets that come into contact with any pesticide or device deployed in conjunction with any service provided under this Agreement." What's even funnier is that they don't adequately train or supervise their employees, numerous times their representative today told me that the employee I scheduled the appointment with on the phone wasn't "supposed to do that" in re; quoting a price, so I've got to assume that they wouldn't uphold what they put into the written contract to sweeten the deal. Sure, I could sue them for specific performance, but upon signing the executed contract I have from them I'd be bound to arbitration... and leaked documents have shown that arbitration finds for the company more than 95% of the time. This is one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever had the displeasure of working with. I initially contacted them to remove some raccoons and they told me they would set traps for a week then repair my roof to make sure nothing could get back in. They said they would guarantee nothing could get back in for a year. Because of delays such as "we ran out of traps" and "no particular reason but we just aren't going to show up" the trapping took over three weeks. They eventually apparently removed the raccoons and claimed to have blocked off where the raccoons had accessed my attic. Two months later there were more animals in my attic. I called them only to find out that they were no longer insured to remove anything larger than a rat. I was told they shouldn't have offered me the one year guarantee but they couldn't be held responsible for that. They tried to convince me the animals in my attic were just mice which they were allowed to remove but that would cost $350. They offered me a discount that was less than a random discount offered on their website. I told them I was also having insect issues and if they could offer a better discount I would consider it. The salesperson said they would call back the following week. They didn't. One month later a receive a bill for treatment they applied to my property. I called and the customer service representative seemed completely unsurprised by my situation. He even admitted that their reps can "sometimes hear what they want to hear." He told me that he would cancel the debt but I'm not holding my breath. TLDR This company is unprofessional and their sales reps are a bunch of scam artists. Go with literally anyone else. read more

I was swimming in my backyard pool one summer day when a sales representative from this company arrived and was relentless in wanting to speak to me. I got out of my pool to talk to him. What he presented to me what NOT what was in the contract, and yes, it was my fault for not reading the contract more closely, however, the sales tactics were pretty shady. Now I am stuck in a contract for services that do not meet my needs and when I try to get them to come back out to re-service as is stated in the contract they never come. Slimy conmen who try to wring every last cent out of you. - Door-to-door salesmen are pushy, lie about neighbors signing up, and don't mention until right before you sign that the service is a multi-year subscription contract. - The subscription involves making monthly payments for quarterly service. (?) - The service doesn't do anything. They haphazardly spray something around the house and set a few mouse traps, which you could do yourself for a lot less money. No difference at all in the number of insects or mice. - Want treatment for one specific insect in your yard, one time? Sorry, that's a whole other subscription you have to commit to. - I asked about waiving their contract termination fee after I lost my job. They wouldn't give me even a cent. The "best" they could do is change my monthly payment to a quarterly payment. - When the time came to actually cancel, I had to hound them - they didn't answer their phone and didn't call me back for several days, almost until it was too late. Our servicers were always very kind and we're always in and out quickly. We had little to no big/pest issues during our time using their services. That being said, they run this business like a bunch of thieves. We got trapped in a one year contract after a door-to-door representative convinced us to sign up (yes, that's on us for not reading the papers). However, after that term was up they renewed it for another year after we called them and had them confirm that it would be cancelled. We were charged $90 on multiple occasions for a service at a home we didn't even live in anymore. Be careful with this company as they seem to have some sticky fingers and unethical practices. Brian was our expert that inspected and treated our home for bed bugs. Our daughter went to a hotel in Nashville and brought the critters back with her. We were beyond mortified and panicked to discover that her room had active bugs. I immediately called Fox Pest Control and they were able to address our problem the next day. When Brian arrived he handled our situation with so much sensitivity and made us feel like the problem was going to be taken care of. The service man showed up at my door without calling as promised. I gave all my issues to the scheduler. When the service guy arrived, he only wanted to set traps and leave. He set the traps and was ready to leave without spraying outside or filling cracks. I checked the house for cracks and he did not fill them. As you can read from several other reviews here, the technicians are great but the company policies and office staff are truly awful. He was the bomb... did the best job ever at taking care of business. In fact I wouldn't allow anyone but him come and do our services! Because he had won our trust in doing the job right! I had problem after problem with Fox Pest Control. First, they want to bill you weeks in advance of performing any service. Secondly, they call with an automated message or leave messages on your answering machine stating that they're coming to perform your service on a specific day - then don't show up. Finally, after I'd had enough and had other pest issues that I couldn't get resolved with them, I wanted to cancel my service and find a new company. They initially refused to let me, saying I couldn't do it by phone or email and I had to come into the office. So I pulled out my contract and read the actual language (which I should've done in the first place), and sent a letter to their office cancelling "ALL services at my residence 30 days from the date of this letter". Two months later, guess what? They start billing me AGAIN!!! Called the office and the lady said that they had cancelled one of my services but not the main one. GEEZ!!!! read more

After calling around to different companies, I was immediately drawn to Fox. The woman who answered the phone, Rachel, sounds like the happiest person in the world and was very helpful. We discussed different pest control options and she explained that they were more than happy to work with our budget (my boyfriend & I recently bought a house requiring a handful of pricey upgrades & repairs). One of the technicians, Cody, came out the same day to give us a quote, and was able to get us on the schedule soon after. Unfortunately I did not good experience with fox pest control. I needed a one time treatment against flies. And usually 1 treatment would solve my problem. They were the only company available to come on a short notice (we were heading out of country in 2 days and I needed someone next day), but they refused to do 1 treatment. Instead, they signed me up for 5 of them, totaling $600. A year later I have the same problem. And in addition I didn't notice any difference with their treatments with spiders, ants etc.. And it was expensive treatment. $600. read more

Do not use this company. I spent an hour on the phone with them telling me multiple times that my child and my pets did not need to be out of the house while they were here treating it. The technician arrived and then told me that pets and people could come back in after 4 hours post-treatment. I called the company who would not let me speak to a manager. They would only let me speak to the same person who had given me all the misinformation on the phone "because they wanted him to make it right for me." Once he got on the phone he gave me no apology or anything - he proceeded to ask me when I could reschedule my babysitter for my child and told me there must have been a misunderstanding between us. I asked at least 3 times if we needed to be out of the house and every time he told me no -- there was no misunderstanding there. Horrible training, apathetic employees, and absolutely no remorse for the fact that they made me take a half day off work, pay a babysitter for 2 hours so my child wouldn't be in the way while they were here, and spend an entire morning vaccuuming and prepping for them to be here. This company is on my NEVER AGAIN list. read more

DO NOT USE FOX PEST CONTROL!!!! They made an appointment with me for Saturday afternoon. I spent the entire day moving all of my furniture away from the walls as instructed as well as removing my pets from the premises. And guess what? They never showed up! And never called! So here I am with a carpenter ant problem, my house is torn apart and my pets are scattered around town for nothing. Finally broke down and brought them after waiting and calling for over 4 hours. The hours on their webpage are incorrect as I started getting the "office closed" greeting promptly at 4pm Saturday. At that point I had left several voicemails and emails and I resigned to the fact that I would not hear back from them until Monday. Here comes Monday, and guess what? Nothing. No one called me or emailed me. I had to call them. The manager who sounded about 20 apologized a few times and that was that. Let's run it back a little bit. Did I happen to mention that while I was waiting, I started scouring Facebook trying to find a direct number to anybody that worked there? Well I did. And what I found was several identical complaints. They apparently stand people up all the time. After asking them to do hours of prep work. Oh! And they also have pushy salesmen go door to door and solicit! Go look it up. Idk how they are still in business. I ended up calling at work in. Which I had originally a boy then due to the perceived cost. Guess what? I don't have to move any of my furniture and I don't have to take any of my pets away and Fox was going to charge me about $150 more for the service.
