Not since my divorce have I been ripped off this badly. I was out of state for a couple of weeks on…read morebusiness and wasn't able to be there for his visit. (Notice I did not say inspection). He didn't find much to report, but I'll get to that. Upon moving in, I noticed on day 1 that the doorbell wasn't working. I looked over his "report" and I did not see it listed. I gave him a call and he said that he does not check doorbells because it is a "low voltage system". What? I thought any idiot could ring a doorbell but apparently not. Okay, a hundred dollars or so to get that fixed. No big deal. I also noticed (on day one) that the circuit breaker for the heat pump is tripped. I reviewed his report and noticed in the photo that the heat pump was on "Emergency Heat" in his photo. The heat pump compressor does not actually come on in Emergency Heat mode so it would not have tripped the circuit breaker but it also does not tell you if the heat pump works. Upon pointing this out to him, he admitted that he did not test that correctly. I give him points for admitting his mistake but a new heat pump cost me $6700. He said that I could file a claim but since his company gets to approve or disapprove the claim, I knew that would not get approved and several months later it got denied. When I tried to open the upstairs windows, they would not open. I asked him if he opened them and he said that he opened a "representative number" of windows. All the upstairs windows are the crank open type (the only ones in the house of that type) and it turns out that they were all caulked shut from the outside. I never got an answer as to how many windows is a representative number, especially if you didn't open ANY of that type. There's another $6800. I won't drone on and on about all the numerous little things (like paying hundreds of dollars to troubleshoot light switches that did not work) but I will point out that according to my alarm technician, he sells your information. I thought it was weird that I got a call from an ADT dealer right after his inspection who knew I was moving and about my new house. That turned out to be another costly nightmare. Be cautious of ADT "dealers". They don't actually work for ADT and will end up costing you money. Call ADT if you want their service, not some third party guy who was tipped off. Obviously, I am not happy. The heating system could have failed between his visit and my moving in. Unlikely, but possible. However, if he had inspected the windows it would have saved me $6800. He did a half-a**ed job. BE SURE YOU ARE PRESENT. He and his staff are quick to point out that they can't catch everything. I can understand that, but it gives him a license to steal. He can do as little as he feels like doing. About the only thing he wrote up was the hand wand in the jacuzzi, which actually works great. He did take a lot of pictures, which is the only real proof I have that he was there. Oh, and if you think you can sue him for not doing his work, you have to pay for his lawyer. Is that even legal? You'd be an idiot to sign a contract with a doctor (or anyone else) that says you'll pay his lawyer to defend shoddy work? I was an idiot, but like I said, I was out of state. Don't be an idiot. Your best bet is to just get a friend that knows just a little about houses and do a walkthrough with you. A friend that can open windows and ring a doorbell.

We were super excited to learn of this company a couple years ago and read about their research and…read morewhat they developed to combat our mosquito problem. Developed here in Lexington, this company produces sterile, male mosquitos that they release at your house to mate with the female mosquitos. The females then lay eggs that don't hatch, resulting in way fewer mosquitos around your house that bite (the males don't bite). This year, they offered a discount on their services and while still pricy, we decided to try it. We aren't interested in spraying poison around our house and destroying the environment (yes, when you spray for mosquitos, you are killing everything else as well such as bees, butterflies, fireflies, etc.). We are so glad we did! It has been amazing - I think I can count on one hand the number of mosquito bites I have gotten at my house all summer. And I sit outside A LOT. Used to be, I might get 10 bites a week. This year, maybe five over the past five months. They release the males at your house twice a week. On some of the release days, we do notice TONS of mosquitos flying around us, which is a little annoying. Some land on us, but as I mentioned, they don't bite us. So, we just have to keep reminding ourselves not to swat at our super expensive ninja mosquitos. : ) And when we plan to have guests over to sit outside on a release day, we can easily contact MosquitoMate and just ask them to bump our delivery day back a day - no problem. They are super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this service. I really hope that if more people start using it, the price will come down and our mosquito issues will be greatly reduced. Please check it out and learn about what they offer. Again, it is more expensive than spraying, but it is totally worth it!

It's a little more expensive than most other products but definitely worth it!!! My yard was serviced twice a week for 20 weeks and the technicians were always helpful and professional.
