I did a quick search and found Corwin Florist in the next town over. From the reviews they looked like they had a good reputation so I called. Colleen picked up the phone, awesome person. I explained what had happened and she told me they were busy but she thought she could fulfil the order. I felt relief at those words. Placed my order and prayed for the best. I still wanted a beautiful piece, something worthy for my sister but I felt like I'd have to settle for whatever they sent. I was out of time. However, Colleen came through, she sent a gorgeous piece and it meant everything on a sad, bleak day. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I wasn't a previous customer, I was a stranger to her. But you could tell, I was still important to her. She kept her word about getting it there on time. So thanks you Collen you're the best! Thank you Corwin Florist.

Yikes ... ($81) When I called to let them know that the arrangement was not at all what was advertised, Kim became super defensive and not in a professional way. Her proposed solution was to "have someone pick up the arrangement for a full refund or pick up the arrangement and add more flowers to it" I said it would be embarrassing and awkward to retrieve flowers from someone who is in recovery... (from my aunt's perspective, her niece made a thoughtful gesture -- to have someone show up and take the flowers back or add some flowers only makes what was originally perceived as a nice gesture, awkward -- which an unnecessary thing to put my sick aunt through). Kim responded that SHE wouldn't be embarrassed (right, because it was ALL about her) and called me "too uptight". Anyhow, she continued to talk over me, refusing to let me get a word in edgewise... and then she hung up on me. Makes me super sad because I was being soooo nice and careful with what I was saying. I hate taking time out of my day to deal with negative energy, so I figured I'd let Amex deal with her and write this review so that others are put on notice about this place.

The design is a classic antique American colonial, with materials and decor really complimentary to the local area. Our room was very clean and felt fresh, even with the nice antiqued look. We had control of the AC unit and a nice private bathroom. They also had an incredible shared great room with a fireplace and kitchen/dining area, where breakfast was "serve yourself" the next morning. Natalie put together a really great spread, and we got to enjoy coffee and conversation at the dining table before we left. The whole experience was hospitable, unique, and so peaceful. Being under 2 hours from NYC, we will certainly be back when we need a getaway in the future. Absolutely no complaints.
