Little nursery that I learned about at a fall fair. There are plants for sale on the front and side of the business, with some indoor plants inside as well as season decoration. I came here because I heard about the pumpkin ride. The ride is a short maybe 5 minute ride through the back of the nursery building. They take you to a small area that has goats and chicken. This is ideally for little kids. There is not much to do or see, but it's cute. The maze is short so that the kids can enjoy. They let us take home a little pumpkin. When we got back to the main nursery area they also provided a tiny cup of apple cider. With so many other big farms in the area I don't think I'll be returning for any fall activities here. read more

As someone who has spent thousands of dollars at Roshler's over the past 18 months, it's deeply disappointing to feel compelled to write this. Until recently, I would have confidently recommended this nursery to friends and family for their stellar selection and knowledgeable, kind staff. Unfortunately, a recent encounter with an employee named Robin has cast a shadow over what had otherwise been a positive relationship with this business. While browsing the last remaining blue star salvias, three in total, I noticed one was lush and in full bloom, while the other two barely filled a third of their pots. I asked at the register if I could purchase the two weaker plants for the price of one, and the helpful cashier was waiting on a manager, Thomas or Jackson, to weigh in. While they were busy assisting other customers, Robin inserted herself into the conversation. What followed was not only unprofessional but, quite frankly, troubling. When I calmly explained my request and pointed out the state of the plants, Robin looked me up and down, fixating on my shirt which had the word PRIDE on it, then did the same to my partner, who was wearing a similar shirt. She made direct eye contact with me and, without any explanation or effort to problem-solve, almost shouted, "NO." No discussion. No courtesy. No professionalism. Just a flat-out, emphatic dismissal that felt unmistakably personal. A kind associate even suggested checking if there were more plants in the back, but Robin swiftly shut that down too, only relenting after repeated requests, and even then returning suspiciously quickly with a dismissive, "No, there are none." I want to be clear: every other employee I've encountered at Roshler's has been helpful, warm, and accommodating. Robin is, unfortunately, the complete opposite, a glaring exception who displayed none of the customer-focused service this nursery is known for. Whether this interaction was driven by bias or simply by poor temperament, it was unacceptable. It left me feeling unwelcome in a place I had considered a reliable and local favorite. Based on this experience, and despite the convenience of its location, I will be taking my business elsewhere and encouraging others in my network to do the same until Roshler's ensures all customers are treated with respect and dignity. read more

In addition to the exorbitant prices they already have if you want something planted they charge you 85% of the purchase price of the item, it doesn't go by height or width or weight or anything like that. But they tell you oh we guarantee the plant for a year, obviously they're looking to subsidize the cost in case they have to replace that plant by charging a percentage of the purchase price of the item rather than go by size or weight; not go back there. read more

Great place. We come a few times a year and love all of the options. We always encounter nice staff and we always find what we are looking for. The lady who works the cash register with shoulder length gray hair, every-time seems miserable. Not friendly, borderline rude. It stinks bc she is the last impression you have of the place. This review is purely based on customer service. I called to inquire about a few varieties of tree and after confirming that they had the tree I was interested in I asked about sizing (not wanting to get too small of a tree). I was SHOCKED by the answer I received. I was told that I would have "come in" to see what sizes and that no one was free to give me a rough estimate of size. The girl on the phone then promptly hung up on me, when I asked if I could call back later when someone was free. Purely based on this experience I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Rohsler's to anyone. If this is how they treat customers, then customers should look to any of the numerous Nurseries and Garden Centers in the area. read more

This place has some nice workers but the owner and the delivery people are looking to nickel and dime you with complete nonsense. They treated me like I was an idiot. I went to the location for a Christmas tree, paid to have it delivered and stood up. paid $275 for this. while in the store I bought the stand for $150 that they told me I needed for the tree. When the delivery people showed up, they told me the stand wouldn't work for this tree and it would most likely fall and break my windows. but they had another stand for $300 in cash in the truck they can give me. with no other choice I did it. Then I just went back for some more items. Two heavy outdoor planter urns. Owner comes over and looks at the sweet lady who was helping and asks if this was on discount, yes- 25% she responds. He then tells me that the delivery charge for this will be $100 - normally it is $55 but he would need 3 guys to deliver it. when I questioned why 3 guys would be needed- he responded that he didn't feel comfortable with 2 guys but would be happy to have someone help me put it in my car and have me carry it alone. Not only will I never come back to this place, I will continue to write my experience to try and save anyone time when looking for items. The owner will treat you like an idiot in front of his own staff and walk away when you don't want to pay his surcharges because he doesn't want to actually offer a discount. I would avoid this place if you are worried about being treated with respect. read more

This is one of the finest nurseries in Bergen County. Their prices are a bit on the high side, however the quality of the shrubbery and perennials are top notch. They have a wonderful selection of indoor plants and a sweet gift department. The staff is patient and available to help customers when you need. And for those looking for precut Christmas trees, they farm their own and cut weep, so there aren't any "old trees" imported from up north. Definitely worth a visit! read more

In Mid-April we went to Rohslers for a quote to do a 100 feet of plantings, trees and mulch for around our home. We walked through their nursery asking different workers what plants were deer resistant, what are best with north or southern exposures with little help from any one worker. On our own we pretty much picked out what we saw our neighbors had planted. Waiting over 2 weeks a salesman to come to our house and we went over various plants and their locations. He said he would get back to us within 10 days. After numerous calls more that 2 weeks later, we were finally sent an outrageous quote with absolutely not one correct plant or location of what we spoke about. We called immediately and to this day have not got a return call. We went to another nursery two weeks ago, spoke with with the workers who gave excellent ideas and gave us a quote with the drawings we had. The quote was less than 1/3rd of the quote we got with Rohslers with a few more plants. They came out this week and went over the scope of work and where everything would be best situated and we scheduled the job to be done this coming week. My neighbors in the past have used Rohslers but all have had similar problems and have stopped going there. Try other nurseries if you want good service at half the cost. read more

This review is just for the garden center. This Nursery is in my mother in law's neighborhood so we have headed on in a few times when my husband and I go and visit her. They always have a great variety of plants. This most recent trip Fall was in full force. I love how they go a bit nuts with the halloween decorating. The pumpkin patch was small, but had a great variety of pumpkins. The hay ride is a neat plus as well and I believe tickets were $9 per person. They had a ton of mums in super bright fall colors, my only concern was that most were already in full bloom. Since mums don't have the best shelf life I would have preferred to see a bunch that still had buds. My mother in law was on the hunt for some ornamental cabbage and they did not disappoint in that area. They had a ton of neat options that were in great shape. Their greenhouse is a bit small as far as indoor tropical house plants go. However their succulent and cactus game was on point. They had a great variety and some things that you don't see at every garden shop. Great place to go if you are looking for those items! read more

Today My husband and I drove up from jersey city to visit rohslers nursery. A place we stop by often to buy our garden supplies. A lovely gentlemen helped answer our questions concerning several evergreens upon arrival and told us to our surprise that they would be closing soon. Online the hours said open til 6pm and it was only 250pm. We told him not to worry, we would come back for the trees another time and just purchase some flowers out front and be on our way. As we got to the front and grabbed a few flowers, we asked an older woman who worked there if we could grab a couple flowers from under a blanket they had just put over them. She was very very rude, wouldn't look us in the eye and angrily said "we closed 5 minutes ago and it's Easter and some of us would like to get home!" So we put back the flowers and left. It was 3:03pm. I took the picture (attached) of the hours after we drove off. Its no problem that the hours were wrong but the attitude of that woman was uncalled for. Terrible customer service. I've been here several times..mostly to accompany children on field trips or just taking my kids pumpkin picking. I decided to get some planters done. I purchased 2 fiberglass planters for $125 each. They offered to plant a few basic flowers in the planters at my doorstep. I paid almost $700. Just 3 days later, nearly all the flowers (which they selected from their nursery) DIED. The leaves, stems all just wilted and died. I did water them appropriately. I called and asked them to come by which they did (but they did so two weeks after planting) and they just attributed it to lack of watering which to me was simply not true. The experience was positive up to that point. The staff seemed nice and the convenience of them coming by was great. But I do believe I got ripped off and I think the flowers may not have been in the best shape when planted. Two types of flowers were planted and only one of the two varieties died which confirms it has nothing to do w/ watering. It was the plants/flowers. So unfortunately although I was looking fwd to getting my planters done regularly, this service was just not what I would identify as good customer service. If you need help in selecting plants, this is not the place to go and shop. Especially if you are looking for any type of annuals. Annual Carol has been working there for years ... finally I gave up, because of her rude ways. You're better off to shop at Metropolitan Plant and Flower Exchange... ask for Steve, he knows all about any type of gardening and is very nice. Not to mention, their pricing is much lower for the same type of plants, such as the brand "proven winners". Great service too! read more

I have heard this florist about five times and anytime we ordered from 1800 flowers and request them it was absolutely beautiful and the one time we went in store and picked up flowers they came out gorgeous. However the one times we've ordered off the Internet on their page they came out looking absolutely terrible and I would give them a half a star if it wasn't for the three other times we ordered from them and they looked absolutely gorgeous. Like for instants The last time we ordered and it will be the last because no one's contacted me back and it's been 4 days now, my husband pick up a bouquet for my mother-in-law for her birthday which I order online off there website and it was the most expensive seasonal bouquet you can get Which I paid $110 for it. I wasn't there when my husband pick them up and when he brought them over and I saw them I couldn't believe my eyes I was mortified because he showed up with them at the birthday and I specifically wrote on the page please substitute any flowers that you don't have in stock or are dying because I do not want any dead flowers and the arrangement are ones that look like they're about to die and I can exactly what I got a bunch of dead looking flowers and I was left with no choice but to give my mother-in-law $110 bouquet that was almost completely dead and one day later had to be thrown in the garbage because they all started decaying and had an awful smell. Last time they did this was on Mother's Day I ordered an arrangement off their website they didn't even have it because it was completely sold out so they substituted it and it ended up being smaller arrangement and I paid the larger one, no one told us that they had to be watered every day since at lest five times because they were a teacup bouquet and every single flower was dead by the end of the first day. So now this is the second time I've given my mother in law a dead arrangement from them, she said basically I could've went to the supermarket paid a fifth of the price and got flowers 10 times better how humiliating. I guess they only give you the good floral arrangements if you're there in person when they're making them or if you order them from a different website and they have to be accountable because like I said I've only had this issue when I've ordered directly from their website and if it was me picking up that arrangement I never would have never took them but my poor husband didn't know what to do, because I would've immediately said I want my money back and you can keep those dead flowers. on top of it all it was one of the most expensive bouquets they had I think they're only two that are more expensive off there site and the fact that no one has contacted me back and it's been almost 4 days now is a disgrace and I don't think they will do anything anyway with how they are because I had this issue on Mother's Day and I am immediately called them furious because they were delivered all they did was give me my money back, they didn't give me any of the shipping fees or sales tax nothing. I'm sure they'll have an issue now that it's one of the largest arrangement you can get and the one on Mother's Day was one of the smaller ones due to the price being inflated on their website for holidays. Robyn Rohsler and her team did such an AMAZZZZZING job on my wedding flowers - I was literally in awe when my bouquets arrived at our hotel and was in tears when I saw my venue centerpieces. The flowers were SO fresh and perfect and the design was SO stunning and beyond what I'd ever imagined they could possibly be. I had been to many highly recommended florists in the area before deciding to go with Rohsler's and had been unimpressed with the level of personal service, flower selection for that time of year and pricing from the other vendors. I felt like "just another bride" to them. This was not the case with Rohslers. Since Rohsler's primarily business is anchored around their a large and established nursery, they don't solely rely on weddings to stay afloat and I believe that helps tremendously in keeping them an affordable option. Working with Robyn was so enjoyable, she was SO knowledgeable about my options, gave her honest opinion when I asked for it, helped me create a design plan that was like nothing I could've ever imagined and made me feel as though I was the only person in the world that mattered when working with her. I have been having a lot of personal struggles in the past two years and was able to find gardening last year as a major stress release and enjoyable hobby. I knew absolutely nothing, zip zero, except for a few annuals you get at Walmart. I came to Rohslers on the recommendation of the Bergen County Audubon society because I wanted native plants for pollinators and birds and my simple desire for a few things of milkweed has turned into a huge stress relieving hobby. I couldn't have done any of this without Mike Mitchell one of the experts at the nursery. His love for plants is so incredible and has made me have such a love and admiration for the hobby! He literally loves his job and makes me so excited to learn about plants and I thoroughly enjoy all the knowledge he shares and all the plants he helps me pick out. He also asks about my ph or moisture of soil and all the things I never ever knew to think of. There are 10,000 fertilizers out there, 10,000 sprays, and he has patiently sat while i've written it all down so i'd remember what he was saying. Since last year I have been making several trips a month just to go learn more from Mike and to get the great plants that this nursery grows. I recently just learned that they grow it all in a field in the winter! I also have a new appreciation for shade gardens since Mike has shown me a lot of cool looking ferns, astilbe, and grasses. Im able to fill a lot of dead space that otherwise would have been empty. I honestly owe Mike a lot because my yard looks fabulous but also I have gained a new hobby and a stress release, something I desperately need. I generally don t write reviews unless I get an extra mile service , When I got my proposal I called Doug and he came over and spent the time with me and gave great suggestions , himself and his crew especially Jodi and Carlos were very respectful and pleasant , they were very meticulous and their work was perfection, living locally for over 30 years and having worked performed by various landscapers , Rohslers tops them all in every way , they take pride in there work and accept nothing less then perfection they even go the extra mile to make sure the job is done right. Working with Robyn and her associates was an absolute pleasure. I met with Robyn three times before my wedding day, and she kept in touch with me in between meetings as needed to stay updated on my plans. She helped us pick out each individual type of bloom for every arrangement, including bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, ceremony decorations... She even collaborated with my baker so that I could have fresh flowers on my wedding cake! She also happily agreed to make centerpieces for my rehearsal dinner with very short notice!
