I ordered six flats (50 plants/flat) of vinca minor 'Bowles' last…read moremonth from CF Hydroponics, described in the website as part of the Cleatus Farms family, located in Northvale, NJ. The price for the plants was by far the most reasonable I had come across. I had spoken with a lady at CF Hydroponics by telephone beforehand, and she was very helpful, recommending UPS shipping (which is also reasonable cost-wise) and assuring me that the plants would arrive in good condition and likely arrive in two days. The flats did arrive in two days via UPS, with three flats per parcel. All plants were in very good condition. All plants rooted nicely. I ordered five more flats last week. Again these flats arrived in two days, a parcel with two flats and a parcel with three flats. Four of the five flats were very healthy like the first batch, but one of the flats was not, with the peat pots visibly dry and some of the plants having shedded some yellow leaves. The plants from all five flats are, so far, doing well. Had it not been for the dry flat, which, fortunately, appears to be taking, this would definitely be a five star review.

He then took me over to the parsley plants and told me that's what they love the most . He gave them to me for virtually nothing just about and then started to show me where the eggs were on them! Now a retired dairy farm, Castle Hill Farm was once the second largest supplier of dairy products in Fairfield County. In spite of the farm's retired status, the Paproski Family work hard to preserve their 100+ acres through continuing the production of hay and corn fields, growing Christmas trees and seasonal vegetables. In addition to their Farm Stand, Castle Hill Farm also has a petting zoo, hayrides, a Sunflower Stroll, a Corn Maze, a Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin Patch, and other various attractions at different times throughout the year. The farm is also available to book for events such as weddings and baby showers. My family and I recently visited Castle Hill Farm to see their Sunflower Stroll. First we stopped off in their farm stand which was filled with all sorts of fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, corn, peppers, squash, cucumbers, and even local honey. We decided to purchase some delicious looking Graffiti Eggplant as well as a handmade candle that had an intoxicating vanilla aroma. Afterwards we headed into the Sunflower Stroll. Our son had so much fun looking at all of the pretty flowers and pointing out all of the bees. Co-owner Stephanie Kearns told us about other things the farm will be offering in the coming months, including hayrides, the pumpkin patch, and other Fall Fun activities. It's such a unique place. There are some unusual plants and trees, plus the more conventional stock. Since it's the end of the season, plus we've had a drought, it could look a little bedraggled to anyone looking for polished rows of plants, but to a veteran gardener it's clear what's there. Plus the owner was generous in his advice about what to plant now. He also has a passionate interest in wellness and is eager to share his knowledge about mushrooms in particular. He doesn't sell mushrooms, but it is an interest. We will definitely be going back. He does landscape design, but this is also a retail nursery.
