From Schaumburg,we flew to roughly where the highways 290, 294 and 88 meet, then followed the Eisenhower expressway east to downtown. We flew south to McCormick convention center, then flew up the shoreline, past Grant park and Navy Pier. Over Lincoln Park we headed inland, passing over Wriggly Field before heading south, back to the Eisenhower, which we followed back west, retracing our original path. Total flight time was around 45 minutes, which is much longer than a tour from a downtown heliport. As we were getting briefed initially, we were asked if we wanted mild or extreme. We answered extreme, and we found out what that meant when we neared the airport on our return. The pilot made a series of extreme banks (90 degrees?, and remember, no doors). One of our party thought it was great, the other was not so happy. The helicopter is the smaller 4-person model. The pilot determines who sits where for weight distribution. You get the best view of the sights on the left side. Somehow, we missed the warning to bring a light jacket and you may want to wear long pants With the doors off, it gets windy. Imagine riding down the highway at 100 mph in a car with no doors, and you get the idea; remember, though, that you are at altitude, and it is cooler than ground level. We didn't have any jackets, but it was warm enough that the trip was tolerable. However, a jacket would have made it more comfortable, and I was glad I wore jeans. You will be warned not to bring anything that could fall out of the open door, hit the rear rotor and cause a crash. Lock in your car anything you don't absolutely need . They don't want camera bags (too many loose items). If you bring a camera, make sure it has a wrist strap. We enjoyed the flight, and I recommend it.

Had some communication issues in the beginning which was a little frustrating and our flight did not start as scheduled (30-45 min after) but in the end the owner is friendly and nice. The pilot was fun and entertaining as well. Did some tricks, giggled a lot, hovered in front of the restaurant window, and chatted in the end. They have a restaurant/bar at the airport with a flight/aviation-theme of course. We just took two coffees pre-flight which were actually pretty good there.

I was a suburbanite long before I became the savvy city girl that I am today. In the time of…read morecurfews and strict parental rules, downtown Naperville was the next best thing to hanging out in the city. Yes, I understand, a distant second place! So, when I saw the Groupon for this tour, I had to seize the opportunity to reacquaint myself with a big part of my childhood. First of all, Naperville has come a very long way from what I remember it to be like. It's now a bustling suburban downtown with a wide variety of eateries both chain and local, shopping and service oriented establishments. It automatically made me very excited about what I was going to learn that day. This tour has a great balance between history and food. Mike, the tour guide is passionate about what he does and it's clear from his historical accounts about downtown Naperville. The tour stars out at the old Kroehler Furniture factory which has long since been re-purposed as condos and retail space. From here begins the leisurely two mile walk (comfortable shoes are a must for this tour) into the historic district of Naperville to feast on the beautiful architecture that has allowed it to acquired its historic status. Food stops on our Sunday tour included: 1. Orazio's Pub, which started doing toasted subs long before Quizno's came around and a hearty bowl of peasant style potato soup. 2. Quigley's Irish Pub, which is the actual pub from Dublin, Ireland! They dismantled it and brought it all the way here. I fell in love with this place and can't wait to go back for the Reuben egg rolls. They were AMAZING!!! 3. LeChocolat du Bouchard, where we actually met Cathy Bouchard who gave a very interesting mini lecture on the history and health benefits of the super-food Cacao. I loved it so much that I can't wait to attend a full seminar at her chocolaterie. What stood out as much as her passionate lecture was the Mexican Hot Chocolate. OH. MY. GOD. It left me swooooooooooning!!!!!!!!!!! That's reason enough to go back there. It was a warm day when we took the tour and I still gulped down every last drop of my drink! 4. Twisted Olive (even though this was only supposed to be a Saturday stop), where we sampled flavored olive oils I didn't even know existed. We were pressed for time here, but I would love to go back and purchase the habenero and cilantro olive oils. I really feel like they might take some basic recipes up a few notches! 5. Cookie Dough Creations, to sample actual cookie dough ice cream and cake batter. This was good, but a little too rich for my tastes. I actually couldn't finish my tasting portions of the two items. 6. Giordano's for a slice of heavenly stuffed cheese pizza. From here, the tour ended and you could continue exploring on your own or do anything else you pleased. The only negative comment I have about it is in the day and age of dietary restrictions, vegetarians and vegans, Mike should have really inquired if my friend and I had any restrictions he should be aware of because we were attending a food tour after all! So, I was sad to not sample the subs or soup at Orazio's because they were pork based, which I do not eat. From what I could tell, everyone else really enjoyed both items because they were gone in a flash. It was a great tour and I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area. Even if you're not, it's worth the drive to Naperville to participate in it.

Appreciated them calling to confirm everything with the wedding in advance as well. My only negative comment is that we were told the party bus would have ice on it, and it did not have any ice at all so our drinks weren't cold :(

Terrible experience - Stay Away!…read more We were planning a trip with our teenage daughter to Europe in the upcoming summer and hired Ms. Spitzer (and Travel A Latte) to help us with the travel plans. We gave a healthy budget (which was supposed to include airfare), and about 4-5 things we wanted to do on the trip. Ms. Spitzer sent us an itinerary which was several thousand dollars over budget and did not include any of the airfare. Additionally, not a single thing we asked to see or do was included. On top of that, there were no prices for anything at all, just a total cost for the entire trip (minus airfare). We reached out to address it. Ms. Spitzer asked what we wanted to cut to bring it within budget, but how would we know what to cut without prices for anything? Even when we made suggestions she responded that she uses prepared packages from a third party company, and so it seemed many changes could not be done. Seeing as she had done no work except sending us a pre-made itinerary from another company, we asked for half our deposit back, but she has refused. Honestly, feels like she just took our money, did not put in any work whatsoever, and was way in over her head with planning an actual vacation. Stay away if you value your time and money.
