Great place good wine. They offer stone fire pizza but it byof . Not a huge place and they have live music . The service was fast we reserved a table and was seated right away. They have jazz music tonight. Will be returning. Grown and sexy vibe. Love it

We went to the Fox Valley Winery on a Saturday night and it was relatively empty. There was one other person sitting at the bar area who appeared to be a regular. She was very nice and talked to us about the area and the winery. She even bought us a taste of her favorite rose wine. The sommelier was also very nice and knowledgeable about their wine. He asked us our preferences and was able to give us good recommendations. My favorite wine was Corruption which is a best seller. It is a robust red that isn't too dry and works well for drinking or cooking. The inside is pretty well put together and they have a few novelty items kind of like you would find in one of the local boutiques. The leather seats were comfortable and when you get a tasting you are not chained to the bar area and can walk around which is nice. I'm surprised there weren't more people there on a Saturday night, but it was nice to get some specialized attention. I would definitely be back.

The wine was actually not bad. However the service and the facility are pretty terrible. The woman working the counter (mind you we are the only customers in the winery) was inattentive and even took a cell phone call while we were waiting to order. The facility is cluttered and seems to be ignored. Especially the outside seating area which has a lot of potential but has mismatched furniture and is overgrown by weeds...

Super cute place! Love the $5 sample flights. Grab some chocolate or a cheese plate or get lucky and catch them on a food truck night. Live music, good wine. Try the Sec Noir. Wine tender John was about the most friendly and helpful guy I've met at a winery.

Mike behind the wine bar is not professional, he has no respect for customers and should be working in a car wash.

I got nothing but a lack of response from them. They were unprofessional and uncourteous. I would NEVER patronize this business.

Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables she was handling and just overall grumpy. I can understand that doing separate checks for a large group might not be fun, but she just seemed irritable the whole time until we gave her a decent tip. She directed us to get our own water from the self-serve station. I did like that I could do the wine flight from the table vs. they only offer the 6 wine tasting from the bar. I was a little disappointed that no one explained which wine was which, and I was left guessing when I ordered all sweet wines and a couple that looked very similar. When I later wanted to order a glass, I apparently picked the wrong one, but none of them were horrible so that was OK. I also ordered the small charcuterie plate, which was a perfect snack plate. Some of our party ordered flatbreads and wraps, which also looked really good, so I would definitely try this place again. This place doesn't seem like they're that good at accommodating large groups as they only have small round tables they had pushed together, but we made it work. They seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday afternoon. If you like sweet wines, my favorite was the Sweet Purple Lady, followed by Blackberry. I took a bottle home.

Jordan guided us through the tasting telling us about each wine and answering any questions we had. He did a great job at keeping our glasses full while also giving us space to enjoy. Overall, this is a great wine tasting option in the area!

In an old storefront building but they have also added a charming courtyard on the back. They make a LOT of wines! And the food menu is quite robust as well, not just snacks or a cheese plate, as at some places. We split the ham sliders and the chicken raspberry flatbread sandwich, both of which were very tasty and came with crisp kettle chips. To drink, my mom and I had the wine swirl slushy, and my brother had a bourbon old fashioned, all of which we enjoyed. As a lightweight, I liked that the slushy was tasty without being too boozy for me. Our server, Charlie, was very friendly. Staff may want to remember that they can be heard in the dining room from behind the wall that I suppose is blocking off the kitchen; we heard a lot of hollering and swearing at one point. Regarding accessibility, this is an old building and is rather precarious. I use a cane and noted that there is no railing for the steps outside, or the ones inside to get out to the courtyard (my mom mentioned that my dad, who loses his balance due to a medical condition, had also mentioned this on a previous visit). The bathroom I visited was also tiny, literally a water closet. There is also a rather steep slope in the floor from the lobby room to the dining room. If you use a wheelchair, I don't know that this building would be accessible at all from the exterior. Overall, it's worth the drive out to Genoa if you already aren't in this area to check out Prairie State Winery. Cheers!
