Tried this place for the first time this Saturday with a larger group of ladies. I love that they have wine flights where you can try 4 wines, but the slushees other reviews mention might be a seasonal thing. Seems reasonable to get 4 small glasses of wine for $16. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables she was handling and just overall grumpy. I can understand that doing separate checks for a large group might not be fun, but she just seemed irritable the whole time until we gave her a decent tip. She directed us to get our own water from the self-serve station. I did like that I could do the wine flight from the table vs. they only offer the 6 wine tasting from the bar. I was a little disappointed that no one explained which wine was which, and I was left guessing when I ordered all sweet wines and a couple that looked very similar. When I later wanted to order a glass, I apparently picked the wrong one, but none of them were horrible so that was OK. I also ordered the small charcuterie plate, which was a perfect snack plate. Some of our party ordered flatbreads and wraps, which also looked really good, so I would definitely try this place again. This place doesn't seem like they're that good at accommodating large groups as they only have small round tables they had pushed together, but we made it work. They seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday afternoon. If you like sweet wines, my favorite was the Sweet Purple Lady, followed by Blackberry. I took a bottle home. read more

This is just the place to come and wind down and enjoy a chill glass of wine. A good friend of mine invited me to Sable Creek Winery for their Harvest Party Grape Stomping. We had the time of our lives, grape stomping, live music, food pairing, amazing vibes, meeting new people and a bunch of other fun. The admission was $10.00 which went towards the grape stomping. The grape stomping is a great way to dance away your stress. Everyone was adulting and socializing with one another. They had many activities for the adults and children. Art Station, Selfie Stations and lots of dancing. The Tasting Room was open for you to do a wine tasting. I fell in love with the Purple Lady wine. The wine slushies were the Big Hit of the day. Sable Creek has an Open Mic Night & Bingo Night. They have a nice selection of wines, slushies and a small food menu. I wish I lived closer to this Hidden Gem. This would be my mini getaway during the week. I put my stamp of approval. If you ever near Romeoville IL , be sure to stop here for some good wine, good vibes, music and nice people. read more

Similar to others comments, it did seem like they weren't fully moved in yet, although some of those comments were 11 months ago. The place is very nicely decorated, but there were boxes all over, kind of random. We simply stopped to do a tasting, and it was a little offputting that there are no seats at all for the tasting area. They clearly don't want you to be there long lol. Our tastings were great, wines were delicious and overall a very nice, clean place. Prices on bottles range 25, 35 and 55, which is a little high, especially considering some were just fruit wines. We had two different people serve us because they switched halfway through our tasting, both people were friendly and very informative about the wines. read more

After moving to the area about four years ago, we came upon Sable Creek winery. We've enjoyed each time we have gone to the winery and join the wine club. The owners and servers are very nice and provide information about the wines that are served. A friendly group we've enjoyed going to listen to the bands they have And the events that they have hosted. I would recommend trying out the winery. Sable Creek Winery has a nice selection of dry, semi-sweet, sweet, and fruit wines. They also offer wine slushies if you order a sweet treat. The staff is friendly and eager to chat about each wine and the grapes from which they are made. In fact, after trying the semi-sweet Brianna, the gentleman who served us suggested I try the dry Brianna, which I actually liked a lot more. (And I'm not a dry wine liver at all.) Got a coupon for a wine tasting at the Slammers game so we went to check out the new location in Romeoville. Very obvious its in an old bank. Its a huge space inside but it looked like they hadn't fully moved in yet, felt like there were a lot of boxes still. The seating was nice but small. The bar where we did the tasting had no seats. Nice addition to Plainfield! We went Wednesday night for Wine and Bingo and had a blast! Bingo was so fun and they had these amazing Wine Slushies. I am writing about the new location in Romeoville. It's much bigger which was needed. It's in a space that used to be a bank. It kind of still feels like a bank. The seating, tables, and strong fluorescent lighting aren't conducive to a winery. You want a nice, relaxed, upscale venue with softer lighting. I hope that over time they will make the necessary changes. If it were me, I'd turn off those awful lights and, if I couldn't afford new lights, I'd buy lamps. read more

My friend took me to Sable Creek Winery for their Halloween candy pairings. We ended up having a good time and learning some things about how wine flavors can enhance or be enhanced by the foods we eat. I even tried some drier wines that I may not have been a fan of itself; but tasted better with the candy it was paired with. The sommelier gave us detailed reasons for why the flavor notes changed with the candy and wine combination. The tasting is done at the standing bar, but you can go sit at one of the tables if you want to order a glass of wine with a food tray. We ordered the hummus. Clearly it was just Sabre with some cut up veggies, but everything was fresh and tasty. It was perfect with wine. We were able to sit and talk for a while without anyone rushing us away. Tonight, my wife and I visited this winery for a tasting. We were pleasantly surprised by their selection of wines-from dry to super sweet. I believe there is an option for anyone regardless of taste or preference in wine. Having visited wineries in the US, Europe and throughout IL, my wife and I agree that the Cabernet Sauvignon is a "wine drinkers" Cab. It is not a simple drink but has complexity built in. Smooth at the front, little sweet in middle and dry on the finish. No heat/burn. You'll see what I mean when you give it a try. Family owned business. Very nice people who make wine that people want to drink. A date night or small group outing with friends and family option. Tasting room is spacious with plenty of seating at the bar or elsewhere. Parking is no problem as it is a private lot. Pricing is more than fair IMHO when you consider they don't have the volume of wines found in the store. A couple girlfriends and I went to Sable Creek for the first time and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is casual, fun, and comfortable. The tasting room has a variety of high-top and standard tables, as well as a cozy couch and sitting area. We each did a 4-wine flight and we were truly happy with all of the wines we tried. Their rose was our favorite, and I took a bottle home to serve at my bridal shower. The service was fantastic, shoutout to Howie, who was very knowledgable about their wines and checked on us a few times. We brought our children; ages 3 & 5 to Sable Creek Winery as it seemed family friendly. Our children were running in a straight path playing while we were enjoying a flight of wine while there was only two other patrons in the main area. As my wife went to attend to the bathroom needs of our special needs child we were told by a waitress that our children need to stop running in the establishment. As parents who do not have help felt this was very inconsiderate, we do not get out often nor do we need to be told how to parent our children. They were safe in the environment and would be accountable for any of their actions. This was a very dishartening experience with this eastabishment as we have been here many times in support of small business. Also, when my wife went to attend to a dirty diaper of our 5 year old special needs child, there is no changing table in the establishment so she changed him on the floor with a changing pad. We expect better if we are to continue to support these small businesses. read more

We did a tasting and then settled in for two additional glasses of wine. You can try dry and sweet wines. My friends and I went for a wine and cheese pairing which was really fun and then we stayed for an extra wine tasting that was a very reasonable 5 wines for $7. Went for the first time last weekend to check it out. Their FB adds make it look so well put together and inviting. I have to say I tried two reds, one was very good. The rest of the place needs work. No music, zero so it's awkwardly quiet. Very bright lights. No atmosphere or ambiance. No bar stools, just an old sofa and some old restaurant tables and chairs. No decor to make it warm and cozy. Pretzel sticks and Hershey kisses put out in plastic cups like a kids party. You can see all the work equipment in the back where they make wine so it lookIt has potential but they really need to hire someone to help make it a place people feel comfortable and want to come back.
