Really wonderful bones... nice views... great hole designs... built on land that it was a former iron mine, which gives it a unique vibe. And it feels slightly whiny to say it... But I was just hoping for it to be just a LITTLE bit "nicer" ... like whatever scale you rate golf courses on... I can't even put my finger on it... My game reached a point where I stopped practicing because my swing felt so bad and I had no direction. I knew that all I was doing on the range was reinforcing bad habits, and that was both frustrating and discouraging. Working with Fredrick Taggart completely changed that. He has the most accomplished playing background and golf pedigree of any instructor I've worked with, but more importantly, he knows how to teach. He didn't just point out flaws; he gave me a clear process--what to practice, how to practice, and how to measure improvement. Practice does not make perfect, practice makes permanent, and Fredrick showed me how to make the right things permanent. My swing has improved dramatically. He is thoughtful, approachable, and genuinely invested in his students getting better at golf. I now go to the range with confidence and a plan, and I actually look forward to practicing. I strongly recommend Fredrick Taggart to any golfer at the club who is serious about improving.

A perfect little vacation stop. Feels like it's probably a place where "everybody knows your…read morename" - for the locals. We're in town for an anniversary getaway and I didn't want to go to the typical tourist places. So I arranged for my husband to do something he really enjoys - Golf! He's never used a golf simulator before, Mike was welcoming and knowledgeable. In a way, it feels a bit like "a dive" with its location and sharing the building and parking lot with the Tobacco Hut ... but really, it suits its purposes very well. Inside it's pretty utilitarian - it does what it needs to do. There was a seat where I could sit and watch my husband practice. It took a while for my husband to get used to using the simulator, but once he did, he enjoyed it. The two men in the bay next to us were helpful with offering a few tips when needed (thank you Tom & Henry!). Henry's comment "it's a great way to practice swinging in the winter". Since we're from out of town, my husband didn't have club with him. Mike allowed him to borrow a set. So, we're back for a 2nd day!
