Review of Twin Ponds Golf Course We had a 12:04 tee time with my husband and two 16-year-olds who are just learning the game. Because the course was packed, we played best ball to keep things moving -- and still, we were waiting on walkers in front of us at every tee box. Mind you, we were playing from the reds. By the 4th hole, the group behind had caught up. I explained we were waiting on walkers, only to be told we should "take longer between groups" because my husband hits long. Ok, noted. On the 6th hole (a par 5), we had to wait at least ten minutes for two groups ahead of us to clear. When it was finally our turn, we played our best ball into the middle of the fairway -- just a short pitch to the green. As we were setting up to take our next shots (literally as the walkers in front of us stepped off the green), an older couple came flying up in a cart, shouting that we were "slowing the whole course down." When I tried to explain the obvious -- that we were waiting on the groups ahead -- the man cut me off with, "We are the owners." Instead of showing any courtesy or addressing the poor scheduling, they picked a fight with us -- in front of my kids. Here's the kicker: on the 8th tee, after being told we were holding everyone up, my husband teed off a little quicker than usual. He drove the ball onto the green in one -- nearly hitting the very group in front of us. Someone could have been hurt because we were now anxious and in a hurry. My take, Mr. and Mrs. Owner: Your course is one of the worst-kept around. You're cash-only, which feels more than a little questionable. In an area surrounded by golf courses, you'd think you'd treat paying customers better. If you don't want backups, manage your tee times instead of berating families who are actually following etiquette. And Mrs. Owner -- maybe check your lipstick before shouting at patrons, it was all over your teeth and cheeks. Bottom line: you ruined what should've been a fun round for my kids. We'll gladly play elsewhere. read more

Great course run by great people. Played today and it was in excellent shape especially with no rain for over a month.

I played in an outing here last week and when I looked up the course online I was shocked how short it was. I was pleasantly surprised with the condition and layout of the course once I played it, I feel it played longer then it actually was. The greens were in great shape for a public course and they were all very small. Short and small, not something any golfer wants to hear but sometimes you have to play the hand you are dealt. In this case it was an outing with decent food , beer and my group ended up 15 under par which won the tournament. I definitely would recommend this course and I may play it at some point in the future. Unfortunately I have to drive past Bella Vista to get here and I can't imagine ever doing that because Bella is one of my favorite courses. Definitely a good place for a low budget outing and maybe when I get older I will play here. read more

Played for first time this week. The course is in beautiful condition. The greens are fast and tricky, putting a premium on your approach shots. The only negative is the lack of hole markers. Was a bit confusing. read more

Nestled in western Montgomery County, Twin Ponds Golf Course is one of PA's best kept secrets. At 5,646 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70, the course features seven water holes and many well-bunkered undulating greens which will challenge even the best golfers yet satisfy golfers of all abilities. It has a course rating is 65.5 and a slope rating of 111. Twin Ponds is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. The course opened in 1963 when Donald Hoffman converted his farm acreage into a golf course. His plan was simple... Be nice to those who walk in the front door, provide them a course that's worth every cent they paid to play it, and always be grateful they did. Hoffman passed away in 2010, but his legacy is carried out by his family who still owns and operates the course according to his original vision and standards. The first thing people usually comment on when talking about Twin Ponds is how well the course is maintained. The family strives to keep the greens, fairways, and everything else in tip-top shape. I am always personally amazed by the greens especially... Usually they are nicer than courses that have double the greens fees. This is just one aspect that I find remarkable. Truth be told, the course is rather "old school." This comes as welcomed change-of-pace compared to the new wave of golf courses. Sure, you have to pay cash at the register, but it's a lot less than you might expect. Credit Card, folks it is 2019, boy did I want to play here...the course where I learned to play, a course where I played in a league, many local and company outings.....just moved back into the area called ahead for a tee time and guess what!!!!!!! They Do NOT take credit cards.....really, I just read some of the reviews as to the best bargain in the area. Sign up for the GolfNow app and you will find out they are not a bargain. read more

This was my family and I's favorite course due to the friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. At minimum we came once every 2 weeks. The prices have since changed and matched the prices of most upper-class golf courses around. Disappointed in the change and hoping that they revert back to normal. read more

My new favorite course. Cash only but inexpensive compared to other courses around. Amazing value for the money. On paper the course is short, and while there are plenty of holes that are straightforward the course does offer some challenges. The blues not only make the course longer, but hazards and OB near the edge of some fairways will make it seem even longer. Add to that false-fronts on most, if not all, greens, the course requires smart golf. Speaking of the greens, they are fast and true. Even when teeing off immediately after a steady rain, they were surprisingly quick. Once the sun came out they got very slippery, but I like faster greens anyways. It requires better golfers to really focus on ball placement and us duffers to keep us from getting to comfortable. For the money I don't see how they keep this course in such good shape. While it's a bit of a trek from home base and with other decent courses on the way, it may be more convenient to keep local, but I plan on coming back to this hidden little gem early and often. The only downside is a less than spectacular pro shop. That said, I don't understand why would anyone spend real money at a course pro shop these days. Even at the nice ones you're overpaying for crappy selection. Hit up Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy or even Dick's before you get here. Better yet amazon 2-day shipping. read more

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff and brought on board about the course and amenity's. The course was in fantastic shape and views were brilliant. The greens were fair but challenging and the tee boxes in pretty decent shape. The pace of play the day I was there was perfect. At the turn we had a sandwich and a beer which was very good and enjoyed some conversation with the (owner I think) staff. I highly recommend Twin Ponds and we will certainly return. read more
