Ask the Community - Foxs Surf N Swim

If you don't have a pool in your backyard or don't have access to a community one, is there a way to still get lessons? Meaning, does the instructor have access to a pool, if necessary?

Hello. Most community pools will not allow for people that don't live in the community to take lessons as they are not covered under a liability release with the HOA insurance company. I would recommend going to a swim school!

When he first started, he was very afraid of the water and cried through many of his lessons. Miss Kristin was so encouraging and reassured us to keep going--and we're so glad we did. Over time, the tears stopped, his confidence grew, and he began progressing quickly. He's swam with several instructors throughout his time there, and every one of them has been wonderful. He enjoys seeing Miss Tamera and is currently with Miss Ali. All have been great. Liam is now in Swim Stars 1 and is excited to continue advancing through the program until he reaches the highest level. We couldn't be happier with our experience and have referred other families .

As a parent, I love the flexible policy if he is sick or life happens. The app makes it very easy to report an absence and reschedule. The facility is very nice with clean bathrooms, showers to rinse off real quick, and lots of seating for parents. We also appreciate the snack and drink options. My son also felt super special and proud of himself when he leveled up! They gave him a ribbon which made him so happy. This was a fun way to recognize his progress.

My biggest three gripes were that we were watching younger kids come into the class and we essentially became the co-trainers. My son was so bored he just goofed off and didn't listen anymore because he could already do everything at that level since he'd been in the same class for over a year. We had asked her and she said she could move him up but she had to find spots in her other classes and she kinda seemed like she preferred the parent staying because it would be less work for her. Which goes to my next gripe that the other families in our time had been with us since the beginning! Yet she was willing to move all of our times, while they were still infants, to their nap time but she couldn't find time to transition them to swim by themselves. Since going, we've had the time changed 4 times all on Saturday. As any parent can attest to, messing around with nap times is a huge PITA. You could make the argument that she was being cautious not letting him swim without his mom because she felt he wasn't ready. However, he had been swimming without my wife for over a year already. We had been going to another swim school because she stated there weren't any slots open and weren't seeing much progress with her. The last complaint I have is that we never got what we paid for. The class started 10 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early. For a 30 minute class that's essentially half the class she spent chatting with the class prior, snacking, or ending it so she could snack. That's very unprofessional and should be something she baked into her schedule versus taking time in the class.

We absolutely love water works, and will miss our weekly sessions there!…read more My daughter began weekly private swim lessons at age 3 and is now a better swimmer than most adults I know, thanks to her instructor, Maxim. The way he interacts with children, motivates them while keeping classes silly and fun, is truly impressive. The company itself is also incredibly helpful. My daughter had a broken leg that prevented her from swimming, and the team helped us put our lessons on pause without forfeiting her recurring slot with Maxim, and even refunded us for her missed lesson the weekend prior. We've been incredibly happy with our time at Waterworks, both the customer service and professionalism of all the staff, as well as the skills Maxim helped our daughter learn.

On the day of the party, Laly stepped in and kept everything running smoothly. She organized the flow, supported the kids, and created a fun atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Fay, Tim, and Colin brought great energy and helped the kids stay engaged and excited. We chose the 2-4 ft pool and it worked perfectly for our group. Our guests ranged from 2 years old to 11 and every child found something fun to do. The team led age appropriate games and the kids loved every minute. We booked a 2.5 hour party and the timing felt just right. Music played throughout the event and the party room sat right next to the pool, which kept the whole celebration lively and convenient. The staff even helped us load and unload our supplies, which made the day feel even easier. Waterworks Aquatics gave our family a memorable celebration and our birthday boy still talks about it with a huge smile. I recommend this location and this team without hesitation.

Terrible Lifeguards working here. I would be cautious taking a child here who can't swim…read more Today, there were 5 lifeguards and none of them saw a boy significantly drowning/cannot swim. Did any of them help? Nope... It's like they didn't even see a child right in the middle of the pool screaming for help. Luckily, I walked up when this was happening and saw the boy drowning, and jumped in to save him. He was very shook and still none ever came to check on the drowning kid. What are these lifeguards doing? Is it just a show or can they seriously help a drowning person? This is ridiculous. Other than this BIG experience that happened today, the grounds are clean but they need more tables and chairs around the pool areas. And actually making sure the lifeguards are doing their responsibility.

Geese everywhere!!! They poop almost everywhere you look and the staff does not seem to be bother by it at all as they just seemed to leave it laying there... Also I have been here a few different tines to play pickleball! Yes I know I'm one of thoooose people that is judgy about a pickleball court and blah blah blah. But hey this is Yelp! Courts were clean, very minimal traffic on the courts and never a wait since you get to reserve the court. Resident has to reserve the court and guest pay $5. Flys and mosquitos are a problem here especially at night. (Yes because of the giant lake next to the courts) but again, staff seems to be doing very little to fix these inconveniences to guests. Some good and some bad but overall it depends what you're looking for when coming here. Day time pickleball and swimming, absolutely. Night time pickleball and weddings, probably not.
