What can I say, when you are going out to eat during the pandemic? I was fortunate enough to go with my Best Friend on the anniversary of the first time we met. I chose the restaurant since he likes beer & hmm I like to see him happy. It was pleasantly quiet that gave us enough time to talk. The tables were about 6' apart & the waitress had a mask all the time. We ordered the wings & they were crispy (I like mine on the less crispy side) but he liked them. We order a spicy dressing and ranch for him :) We also order the burger and it was so good! It was great to share! I am not a big beer drinker and it was kind of cute of him trying to get some to ease me up on the beer experience, so those are the ones we tried. The one that I liked was the s'mores. It was a very clean and quiet place. We remember that we didn't get ask about dessert, I guess we were looking forward to that. The place was perfect for having a conversation. Overall the experience was fantastic, because as long as you have a good conversation and a great person to share that conversation with. The rest is a little extra ;) Hopefully we can get back to the times when we were all out and about trying out new restaurants and smiling at the person next to you and that person noticing the smile behind the mask. My boyfriend and I decided to try out this place the week after the "grand opening". This place definitely needs to work out the kinks. We tried a total of 5 beers. All very good and no complaints about the beer! Although- to make note they only serve beer no other mixed drinks or wine. Very impressed with how the staff kept up with the never ending lines out the door. We had to wait for about an hour to be seated. What we found strange is the Friday fish fry is not beer battered- it's a brewery?We ordered the cheese curds, wings, and prime rib sandwhich. The cheese curds were one of the best tasting ones we have tried! The wings and prime rib.. not so much! I was never asked how I wanted my prime rib done. When I recieved it, it was so red it was bleeding onto my plate. It was so tough that you had to cut it into small pieces to mak sure you didn't choke. The wings were nothing special, mediocre. It's still early in the game for Foxtown - I'm hoping they work out a few of their kinks. Overall we be back! Beer is great. But it's very strange that they don't allow food to be ordered at the bar? We went to grab a table since we were excited to try their menu options. Dining room wasn't full and were still told it was a 20 minute wait. Also very strange. Nonetheless, our server Matt was awesome! Ordered buffalo wings, 1857 burger and the Reuben. Definitely try their wings!!! Probably the best in the area. Burger was really solid too, very similar to a smash burger if that's your style (which it should be :)). The Reuben was a huge, huge miss. Its a highlighted option on their menu but they should really reconsider promoting it. Bread was perfectly crisp and that's where it stops. "Corned beef" tasted more like brisket out of a bag, absolutely no flavor. Had a few shnibbles of sauerkraut and I don't even think there was any thousand island present. Overall, we will be back for the wings and the beer and we are looking forward to trying more menu items. Hoping it doesn't change into the chain breweries in the area! read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would! We just left there, where the service was only a tad bit better than the food. All three of us ordered burgers, simple enough, yet it took 35 minutes to get our food. By the way, we were there 5 minutes after they opened, sat at the bar and ordered right away. The "Party Melt" was advertised as a 1/3 pound burger, yet it was the size of a slider! When I showed it to the Manager and asked how this could be a 1/3 pound burger, she told me she would have to ask the kitchen. I'm sorry, but if you can't tell the difference between a slider sized burger and a 1/3 pounder, then you shouldn't be a manager. All three burgers were overcooked and the fries were cold. Just for future reference, Elk meat should be prepared medium rare, teach your cooks that! read more

Not sure I would go back. My family and I had lunch on a Friday and it wasn't super busy. We were pleased with the beer selection and the appetizer that we ordered. However, once our food was brought to the table none of it was very warm. My daughter's grilled cheese wasn't even meaty anymore. I sent my sandwich back because it wasn't even room temperature. The waitress finally brought it back and it was made incorrectly. I had to send it back for a second time. By the time I got my lunch everyone at the table was done eating. It wasn't a fun dining experience and I don't know if I would recommend eating here. read more

We requested outdoor seating due to the COVID situation, but now wish we hadn't because the road noise was a little annoying. Inside decor had character and was spacious, so we could have "social distanced" in there. Sampled the brews with a flight and found a couple of beers that we liked, particularly the Flag! Service wasn't great, but think that our waitress was relatively new. Best part was the food - the Brisket burger was excellent and really enjoyed the pulled pork as well. We will go back! read more

Have been 3 times and each time it was a little less enjoyable. LOVE the building, but the food seems pretty mediocre. Last night we went with friends intending to have beer flights to taste test, and they did not have printed lists of the options. The poor, nice waiter had to read us the 13 options that were not on the card of their main 8 selections. Eventually my husband just asked him to choose beers for him. This is a tough one, the food was very good and the beer was very good. The real problem is the price, sometimes... The wings were great for $8, not worth $12. The triple brisket burger was really good and worth the $14. We had a 20 minute wait and had read there was no food served at the bar. We did see food being served at the bar, so maybe they changed that policy. I'd be back, but it won't be high on the list due to the food value. If we take the dollars away, I'd say it was at least 4 stars if not 4.5. read more

So glad this newer restaurant so close to home has been able to survive. Every time we have eaten here the food has been delicious. I don't drink beer so it made it even better when they added wine to the beverage menu. Have fined both inside and outside and the ambiance was great across the board. Met some friends there based on their recommendation. Service was slow at best partly I think because we had several people wait on us. Server never asked if we wanted a refill on our waters or my ice tea. For appetizer we had the pork rind which were very good. I ordered one of there burgers as an entree. On the menu it said burgers cooked to medium well mine came out well done and even a little dry. read more

This place is so warm and inviting. Everyone was friendly and everything tasted great. I had the beer sampler and liked all 5 of them, or were there 6? I had the pulled pork chili, excellent, and had the potatoes app with bacon bits, nice added taste. It looks like the kind of place that would have a fireplace, which would be very nice. I have driven past this place dozens of times and I always make a mental note to stop in for a bite and a beer. Glad I finally kept the promise to myself. First, a minor note about eating at the bar. Nice ambience but the counter has a weird ridge on the customer side that makes it uncomfortable. I'm sure it's great at containing spills but it's murder on the arms and elbows. No points off for that, I'll just get a table next time. I ordered the pan seared brussels sprouts as a starter. First, I really like brussels sprouts when they are done well but this was a REAL treat. Order it only if you can share because it's a very large serving. For lunch I had a very tasty Hefeweizen, which would make for a great session beer, and the 1857 burger. I know, burgers everywhere have become stupid expensive for no apparent reason. The vast majority never come close to being worth the price. This was a singular exception. At $15 it's overpriced like all the rest but it comes damn near perfection and I will go back for It again. It had a great beefy flavor, just crispy enough around the edges and still perfectly pink and juicy in the middle. Toppings provided just enough of a counterpoint to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts. Last but not least were the fries which in most places are just something to fill up an empty spot on the plate. These were a pleasing exception to that rule. Crispy, not overly salted and melt in your mouth soft on the inside. If you have driven past this place more than a half dozen times without stopping, you're cheating your taste buds. I'm giving it four stars because I've only been there once but my lunch was worth all four stars. I'll go back and try other items on the menu and adjust my rating if necessary. The employees were polite, efficient and accommodating but service was just a tad on the slow side. Probably because food service staff is hard to find these days, so no points off for that. Worst place. Forgotten and ignored . We placed our orders for lunch. Who knew it would never show to the table. We sat with empty drink glasses. Watching other tables who were seated after us, recieved their orders. Hoping that maybe, just maybe the next server leaving the kitchen would have our simple burgers in their hands. But, no, it was to be. Our server must have been sucked into the same dark void as our order. The manager was very busy doing nothing, but prancing around. Apparently being aware of the dining room and its activity was a lost art. Finally we saw our waitress, but alas her hands were empty. What a big disappointment. She didn't know why it was taking so long. Told her we were no longer interested in waiting another forty minutes. Cancel this order. I blame the kitchen manager for lack of managing orders. Heard lots of great things about this place and wanted to check out. Decor and beer is great but food and management is below average. We dined there tonight, I ordered the rueben and had to return. Meat was rubbery and couldn't even bite into. Husbands burger was dry as a bone and waitress said they couldn't cook to request. Dads sandwich has three thin slices of meat which for what we paid was a rip off. Manager came to our table never asked anything about our food. For being new our experience, this should have been handled differently. Not worth the $76 bill! read more

Went for a fish fry. Badly over-fried. All three of them. The manager offered a round of drinks, which was nice of him. We just left.

Beer was average. Service was not acceptable. Let me share why. We sat at the bar after being told the wait to sit outside was 20-30 minutes. That was fine for a Saturday night. We happily sat at the bar expecting to have a few drinks and then move onto dinner. There were 3 couples sitting at the bar, it took 5 minutes for my wife to be asked if she'd like a drink. She got her beer. Note i was NOT asked if i wanted a beer! When asked finally i waited another 5 minutes and then bartender said he forgot what i ordered. Finally get a beer now 5 minutes later. We rsvpd a table before the couple next to us and then they were seated before us....Great. Shortly thereafter high top table of 4 behind us leaves because after being seated no one even asked them what they'd like to drink so they happily walked out. Now after 35 minutes i walked up to hostesses and asked for estimate for when we expected to be seated. She said wait was another 5-10. We waited 15 and then walked out as hostess said have a great night not even acknowledging the fact that we waited over an hour. Half the tables outside were empty!!! We went to Highland House, were immediately seated, immediately asked what WE would like to drink and had drinks in hand within 5 minutes of being seated. That is exceptional service and why we always tip well at Highland House. No intentions of going back to Fox Town. We had a good experience in January for a surprise birthday but this was just over the top unacceptable. read more

Don't get the burger unless you like the taste of raw ground beef and a soggy bloody bun. And the smell will be with you long after your appetite is gone. But if you do highly recommend! Also the potato wedges are a small dry version of a baked potato with no flavor. Cheese curds are good though.l read more

Great brisket burgers. Did a great job making sure everyone was spaced properly, servers had masks and gloves. Silverware was individually wrapped plastic and ketchup came in packets. Paper non-reused menus. All the right steps to keep everyone safe. Still a great atmosphere and really really good brisket burger. Fries were awesome too! read more

Have eaten there twice in the past two weeks, and will not likely return again soon. I am a big fan of hard ciders, and was disappointed that this restaurant did not offer any. Ciders seem to be an in thing now. The waiter tried to explain that their liquor licence limits what they can serve, but they offer hard seltzers, a limited wine selection wine and beer. It seems odd they can't offer any ciders. There are many canned and bottled ciders by Wisconsin brewers which would be excellent choices (Aeppletreow from Burlington comes to mind). The fish fry I had last Friday was overly breaded, and served with rye bread with no butter. It took two requests to obtain butter. The burger I had yesterday, however, was excellent.
