Old fashioneds are typically too adult-tasting for me but I thought I might be able to handle it. It was. DELICIOUS. What a great twist on an old fashioned. There must have been a hole in the bottom of my glass because that shit was gone before I knew it. The cheese curds were, hands down, the best cheese curds I have ever had in my life and possibly one of the best things I have ever consumed period. Holy shit. Would it be inappropriate to have 2 orders? The plant based fish fry was also impressive considering that it wasn't fish. I loved it and I loved being able to participate in something like that. We arrived as they opened on a Saturday, so seating wasn't a problem. I decided to order the double smash burger with fries. The burger consists of two smashed beef patties, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, garlic aioli, on a sciortino's brioche bun for $16.50. The order was out quickly. The burgers were cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. The cheese was melted and ozzed down the sides. The lettuce, tomato, and red onion were fresh and added a crispness to the burger. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. I was able to sample 2 of their IPA beers to decide which one I wanted. The Punch IPA was hoppy with strong citrus notes. The Hazy IPA was not as hoppy and did not have citrus notes. The later was my personal favorite. I ended up getting a 6 pack to go. Just off 1-43, it is easy to get to and worth coming back to.
