We spent over $5,000 replacing counter tops in three rooms in a house we were selling. The installers were responsible for reinstalling the faucet in the powder room which was an extra fee. They installed the faucet incorrectly and the drawer would not close because it hit the drain pipe. Which was never an issue in the thirty years we lived in the house. Notified Fireplace & Granite immediately and sent photos and then a video they requested because they were too busy to come see the issue. Days went by with no response. We ended up hiring a plumber to adjust the faucet drain pipe. Our salesman (Travis) instructed us to pay the bill and said they would send a check to cover the repairs. Then nothing but excuses when we asked about the refund. "Only the owner can sign checks and he's on vacation. He will send a check when he get's back in town." After a number of years, the kitchen counters needed two small chips on the edge of the counter repaired, a seam recaulked, along with an application of a new 15 year sealer. I called to obtain an estimate, and schedule the repairs. I explained exactly what we needed, as outlined above. I was told that the price would be around $350, but that they would get back to me. After four more calls to inquire about the repairs, I was told today that the exact repairs I had asked about would run over $1000! Very disappointed. We are remodeling our kitchen and replacing countertops with quartz. F&G sales person came out and measured (including a new island) and sent us a quote. We got another quote which was lower and she was able to match that price. Seven days after the template was drawn, the same sales person emailed and said the template was different than HER original measurement and the price would be increased by $1000 (25% more than original quote). Since measuring was never my responsibility, I asked that the price not be increased and that we stick to the original quote and contract we had been provided. F&G refused. We have had a very good experience with our granite and back-splash. Everyone has been nice and very helpful. The only issue we had was when the granite installers were 3+ hours late which meant they were at our home until around 9pm. They did a great job, though. The back-splash installers were on time the next day and they also did a great job. The granite and back-splash are incredibly beautiful and we are so pleased with it! The prices are reasonable and there was never any sales pressure. Overall a wonderful experience!! Very good group of people. Ordered in winter, delivered in spring, messed up everything every step of the way, cabinets were not "just like the ones on display that they don't carry anymore" as we were told. Had to have them fix the order a few times before they officially sent it in because it was wrong .... because they didn't listen and apparently write down whatever they wanted..... when delivered the cabinets looked like factory seconds, do not provide the space we were told because the Legacy Brand is engineered junk. Also after we told them many times, they still came with the wrong hardware. Tear out and didn't cap the plumbing so they left it leaking all over the floor in the 3 rooms. The manager said we had to go a week with no sinks because that's how they do it, but we got a worker to leave one sink in a bathroom so we wouldn't have to wash hands and dishes in the bathtub. Ordered a full quartz slab that easily could have been one piece to run the length ok kitchen and turn for about 2 feet to the stove, but instead they cut it up and installed in pieces "because that's the way they do it". So there is a seam in the most visible spot in the kitchen. Every time they made an appointment and said we would be the first stop in the morning we ended up being some stop after lunch. Told us the plumber could come and install the water to sinks and stuff 3pm on the day they did the counters, except first stop in the morning was about 2p and the guys said no one should have suggested the plumber come the same day. When they tried telling the plumber it was ok - he told them it's not because the epoxy needs at least 12 hours. The only person there worth anything is a guy named Mike that comes along and fixes all the mess and actually told management that the pictures and descriptions we sent in were in fact unacceptable defects. Three rounds and 2 months later they finally got things to the minimum acceptable. We wanted our deposit back before they actually placed the order as it was obvious that all the wonderful customer service no longer existed after they got the deposit, and a lot of the ordering issues were due to such concern over whomever was next in the door. If you like being left out of understanding what is going on, allow them to do whatever they want whenever they want, tell you defective stuff is fine, have the quality guy get annoyed that he had to spend a full day and not just an hour or two and still barely fix all the issues - by all means spend well over $10k for a small kitchen and bathroom counter remodel. And the day after Mike got things to a minimal acceptable point - the office was on the phone wondering when they will get the last $1000. I said email be a bill and I will send the $. They did, I did and 3 days later they call again wondering if I got the emailed bill because they didn't have the check yet. Maybe they do a good job with granite/quartz remnants, but I wish I never saw their ad because when all was said and done they were not a price bargain, the quality is of the cabinets is terrible, the grief and aggravation was unacceptable and just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I would give zero stars be it won't let me. read more

Fireplace & Granite Distributors more or less matched a lower quote we had gotten from Panda which didn't include either plumbing disconnects or reconnects. They provided a one-stop shopping turn-key installation (we did pay a $295 reconnect and $75 new dishwasher install charge). The woman who came out to measure and quote had some valuable advice and secured us a remnant for the downstairs wet-bar install that came out great. The installers arrived on-time, completed both the kitchen and wet-bar installation in one afternoon and the seams are nearly invisible. They did the cutting and shaping outside so we had little dust and even carted off the old dishwasher. We are very pleased with our new granite countertops. read more

Apparently this place does not need your business or money. We have tried to give them our business (upgrade our gas fireplace). We talked to one salesperson and never got a return call as promised. We decided to give them another try a few months later and we were told she was no longer there, but would be taken care of. We picked out what we wanted and were told the owner had to give us an estimate. He took a couple of weeks, but did finally show up for that. Another week or so went by and he called for our email address (which we already gave) but I did call back and give it to him so he can email our estimate. That was approximately 3 weeks ago. We are very disappointed with Fireplace and Granite Distributors. A lady from there came to our house to give us a estimate for remodeling our bathroom. This was on Friday, September 21st. She said she would email us a estimate no later than the following Tuesday. We waited until Thursday and called to see why we had not heard from them. We were told that was not normal and she would check with the lady who came by. It is now Tuesday, October 2 and still no call or email. I know she has our phone number because she called to set up the time for the estimate. I think we are thru with them. We are in the process of having a wood burning fireplace converted to electric. This is a custom job being that the shroud piece must be cut to fit the existing opening and all the wiring is hidden. The first firebox was bent and damaged and the heat did not work. The heat works on the second firebox but the shroud piece does not fit because the wrong size was ordered. The installer has been to our house twice. When he comes back the third time, we should have the correct shroud piece. The glass front we requested wasn't included on the initial purchase order so that should be with the installer when he comes back a third time to finish our job. I'm still giving this company 4 stars. My reason is simple....the customer service is EXCELLENT. Each problem has been addressed quickly. The installer is extremely well-mannered. The office staff are polite and courteous. I know (in spite of the hiccups we've experienced) the finished job will be done right. read more

I was looking to replace a double vanity in our master bath and wanted granite but thought it would be too costly. I went to both Lowe's & HomeDepot, but their price was way too high, plus the people I worked with at both "big box" stores didn't know their product very well. I left them and drove to Fireplace & Granite in Concord. Unlike the two big store Tracy couldn't have been more helpful. She made recommendations, showed me the large selection of granite to choose from, then gave me an estimate on the spot. Based on my experience I placed my order that day. A few days later a member of their staff come to my home to measure and make use the proposed granite and the two sinks would fit. Then within 7 days after meruresents were confirmed the granite was ready for installing. The installation crew removed my old counter. They were also very considerate of the walls, cabinet and other item in my house making sure they were not damaged as they worked. The installation was great and our new two sink vanity top looks fabulous. I couldn't expect more; quality, a good looking product, fast delivery, great price and good people, from the Tracy through the installers all exceeded my expectations. My contractor sent me to this business for a bathroom counter top. After a frustrating 2 weeks of trying to communicate with them followed by one of the men from their cabinet shop coming to my home being rude and doing sloppy work, I cancelled the counter top. The attitude when I complained was one of disinterest. They refunded my deposit without a problem. One bad apple should not distinquish a company but an attitude of disinterest in good service is not acceptable. read more

I visited the Concord location twice due to the recommendation from a friend. I have to follow up with the sale manager to get the quote. Once I got the quote, I sent an email and left a VM twice for the sale manager to come to do the measurement. I had no responded. I called and left another VM; she finally called me back and said she would return my call within two hours for the appointment. I have not received the return phone call. Fireplace & Granite just lost a sale (6K+)! I went to the competitor and pay less than FG quoted. If I have proceeded with FG, I cannot imagine what after sale support would be like! Granite is a commodity and granite shops are everywhere. If you don't take care of your pre-sale customer, you lost a sale opportunity forever! read more
