We stopped in for the free class of creative movement and what started as nerves and sitting around for the first half of the class to fully engaged the second half. After that trial she couldn't stop talking about it. We enrolled into the classes and it's been a blast to start each saturday with this. The instructors are patient and keep classes rolling and are very engaging to get those who aren't feeling the early morning start. I can't wait to see what the program has to offer and the ease and flexibility of everything makes it too simple.

Some people park the car at the Clam Jumper plaza (FREE) and walk up to the theater. The building is well maintained & very clean. Next month, they are doing renovation in the lobby, it is going to look even better when it is completed. 3 windows at the Box Office. It takes me about 10 minutes to get my tickets from the Will Call windows. The theater is not too small. Sound system is excellent! The ushers are super friendly. The Legally Blonde musical is phenomenal~ All the performers are very talented with great voice. The music is very cheerful. The story is very funny. What a great show~ The story is very inspiring for the children!! It is a perfect show for the family.

A pleasant surprise was the complimentary tickets... LOVE being on the yelp Elite squad! Just for clarification, the Cabrillo Music Theatre is the musical production company that performs at the Fred Kavli Theatre of Performing Arts, at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Easy parking access. We arrived at 7:40pm with a daunting line at the will call/ ticket booth, but the line moved quickly and we were still able to hit the restrooms before settling down in our seats to enjoy the show. The Kavli Theatre is a modern structure that is even more beautiful @ night. Staff is friendly and VERY helpful. Auditorium is a good size, seating about 1800 people. Well spaced, as it wasn't difficult to pass through the rows. I didn't kick or knock knees with anyone to get to our seats. We sat in the orchestra section, Row P, and could easily see all the facial expressions of the performers. Not stuffy at all in the large hall during the performance and never heard a glitch in the sound system. Most men were casually dressed, as it was rare to see a suit & tie (I was out of place sportin' the bow tie), but lots of ladies looking elegant in their dresses and heels. As far as the show, Legally Blonde, the Musical, was SO ENTERTAINING! This movie adaptation was FUNNY, with captivating voices & performances, and the music was engaging. I enjoyed the movie, and this musical production stayed true to the film, yet, enhanced the story of Elle Woods... brought it to another level! OH MY GOSH! Bravo Cabrillo Music Theatre... BRAVO! I've been taking lessons from Tara for about three and a half years. The amount of progress I've…read moreseen during that time is incredible. I first came to her because my voice was fatiguing whenever I sang. I'd never had training and wasn't sure if the singing I was doing at home was damaging my voice. Right away, she identified the weaker area of my voice and started to give me exercises that strengthened weak muscles, improved resonance and tone, and helped add a consistency to my voice I'd never had before. I came to her thinking my voice maxed out at the top of the staff and within my first lesson she proved that I had a much larger range than I thought I did. Over time that range has expanded even further. What I appreciate most, though, is that she constantly pushes me to keep growing. Whether it it is in the difficulty of the music I'm learning, the artistry of the performance, or the techniques I'm learning in my exercises, there is always a next level and Tara ensures that I keep challenging myself just enough to stay engaged without becoming too overwhelmed. This, more than anything, has improved my performance and grown my confidence immensely. I'm so grateful to have learned everything I've learned from her, and I can't wait to see what the three and a half years (and beyond) of lessons will bring.

As a passionate singer, meeting Tara and beginning lessons with her was the best decision I have made in a long time. Not only is she a kind and caring soul, she is so well-educated and intelligent about her craft. She can develop your voice beyond your wildest dreams, and moreover, she can tell you WHY she asks you to do certain things and what exactly a particular exercise does for you. She teaches from a scientist's perspective, focusing on the anatomy of the voice and delving into how the muscles of the vocal cords really work together to create a beautiful, developed, and cohesive sound. So straightforward, easy to understand, and she teaches you at YOUR pace, not her own. As a soprano with a previously underdeveloped voice who now has a full range of more than 3 octaves, I recommend Tara 110%. Ask her for a trial lesson. I promise you will never leave her studio and won't regret a single minute or penny!!

The talent of the student performers is endless. They put on great shows and the staging and direction is world class. It's better than going to LA to equity houses and all for a low price. We do have one suggestion -- please consider audience etiquette before going. We recently attended and a family of one of the cast members were just in a word -- gross. You don't have to wear a tux but a t-shirt with Spuds McKenzie from 1985, mom? Also not cool you cut us in line going in. Dad, there is no photographs or video in the theatre during performances. You made it hard for us to see as you attempted to be Wes Anderson moving around your seat on a swivel. Finally, your son/nephew/cousin is, yeah. It's cool. You seemed to be unaware when you yelled, "Go for it!" as he kissed a female cast member on the stage. Just a little self awareness is what we're suggesting here. Glad you support his theatre aspirations! If you're the student who this is about, I'm really sorry. They sure love you and that's all we could want for you. (We'd also pay to see you on Broadway, too. You are quite talented!) but you and your cast mates deserved better. In fact, we all did.
