I had a great experience working with the team at Frame Monster. I recommend them enthusiastically and would be glad to work with them again in the future. I had two pieces-one which needed a special frame, and one that was bold and simply needed to be framed nicely. Both turned out beautifully. The smaller item, a signed poster, had a small smudge that the designers at Frame Monster were able to remove. I was grateful for their effort to "clean up" the poster before framing it. I was additionally impressed with the thoughtful measures they had in place for COVID-19 safety at the studio. I've been staying close to home and not entering many businesses since early March, and I felt very comfortable during my appointment. I don't have amazing pictures but I'm including shots of the finished projects to demonstrate how carefully they were packed for transport. Frame Monster has a unique and extensive collection of frame options, and their team additionally does neat work in-house with paint and other modifications. Frame Monster absolutely nailed it with the pieces I brought to them. The whole process was easy and fun. I called to schedule an appointment and they were able to have me come in that same week to drop off my pieces and sort out the look for framing. Mike was awesome -- he really took the time with me when I had no set vision for what I wanted done. He's super creative and brings some killer ideas to the table if you're not sure which direction to go. You can tell he and the team are all invested in making the art look stellar. It's also just fun to work with someone who's as excited about it all as you are! I also did some smaller pieces with the 'Dealer's Choice' option they have. I love what they did with them. Can't recommend it enough if you're happy to have them play around with things/you're not dead set on what you want. I really appreciated the fact that the shop has sanitizer and gloves they ask people to use before going through their materials, and that they're limiting people in the space for safety. And lastly, they're great about deadlines. Their were quite transparent up front that timelines are longer at the moment while they're short on staff. But they were also clear that whatever your set time is, they'll get the work done for it. I've already brought another round of work over to them, and plan to bring more shortly. This place really is as good as it gets. I looked up the shop after seeing an ad they placed in the NELA Art Newspaper and saw their great portfolio / reviews so I emailed Mike and asked if he was available that morning to go over some pieces I needed framed. We met up a few hours later and and I have to say I was quickly impressed with his overall demeanor, business model, and craftsmanship. I have been to more than my share of framers and they're all good but this is the kind of place that has the something special about it I was looking for. I took three pieces in to get framed and they are by far the nicest frames I have in my art collection. The frames give the artwork a beautiful setting and enhance it perfectly without being invasive. I ended up spending a little more than what I had in mind but Mike honored the Yelp discount and the quality and aesthetic is far superior to what I have gotten before. UV glass, double matte, fabric, etc. I can no longer get my collection framed anywhere else after seeing how ridiculously great these came out. They plan on opening full retail hours in the coming months but if you're hesitant because of the appointment only hours right now don't be. Give Mike a call or email and he'll accommodate you. I put off framing 3 pieces of art that are very important to me because it felt like such an investment - and what if something went wrong? The pieces aren't crazily valuable, but they are irreplaceable and close to my heart. Finally - at the recommendation of my sister, who has used Frame Monster through the Mt. Washington PTA - I went in and nervously talked to Mike about what would look best on the paintings. He suggested choices I might not have made, but I didn't trust my own judgement, so I went with his recommendations. When we got the 3 pieces back - wow!
