Had a pleasant chat with a sales person about shopping for a Father's Day gift, it was helpful. Once I found the item, made an effort to look for their register to make the purchase. This could be considered a luxury garment, it's a special occasion & thought it'ld be nice to have a garment bag for the present. When asked, the team member excused themselves and returned with the gift enclosed in a dry cleaners type, flimsy plastic bag knotted at the bottom. I was a bit puzzled since the person seems to be professional and understood. When asked again, they checked w' another team member & returned with the comment more or less: "that kind of bag could not be given to me because of that kind of spend..." The tone was different and seemed discourteous. In a normal way asked how much I could purchase one for. I'ld like to say that I wasn't asking based on the retail or the final sales price of the garment (good value), it was from what I thought was a conversation about me finding a cool gift. During 20+ years as a purchasing customer, haven't needed anything like this so thought it was a reasonable ask. It was suggested that I could go to customer service, maybe they could provide one, but were not sure? I would've preferred a simple no thank you, that's not available rather than the snarky, condescending remark. Rather than the sales person telling her that she would set her stuff to the side, she just stood there awkwardly without addressing me waiting. Then the woman finally came back and brought nothing else but then the associate told her she reached the deal for something free and the shopper went back to shopping! Just left her stuff at the register and went back to search hung the racks! Incredibly rude that she didn't notice someone waiting behind her but what's worse is the salesperson who didn't tell her that she would ring her up when she's ready. Finally after an awkward 5-7 min, she finally addressed me for my pickup. She went and got it and came back and as she handed my item to me, she said sorry for the wait. I was pretty peeved that both women had no sense of awareness. I have worked in retail before and it's not difficult to communicate with shoppers.
