Because it was short term, we paid a daily rate and felt the rate was very fair. Highly recommend this place! We feel great about having a flexible childcare option that is relatively close to us! Sending our first child to daycare was not an easy decision for us, as our families are used to helping each other out in babysitting and not sending our babies and toddlers to daycare, but it truly ended up being one of the best decisions we made for our daughter at an early age. Noticing her social skills and eagerness to interact with other kids both at daycare and in social settings has become very rewarding. Cindy has the character of someone who truly cares about the development and growth of children. I can recognize these habits she instills in her daycare, easily by observing her and the children when I picked up my daughter after work and simply talking to her for just 5-10min with updates on both my own daughter and the other kids she takes care of. Cindy was also so accommodating in adding extra days in we would need for babysitting, even in such short notice. She sent pictures every so often, and provided us with the daily routine of what our daughter did/learned on the days she attended. We appreciated her outdoor space for our daughter to get some sunlight and play, the friends that she made there, the year-round holiday activities she would prepare for the kids, and the bilingual dialogue that Cindy would use to expose the kids to more than just English. We are currently expecting our second child, and we would easily choose Cindy to be part of our lives again in babysitting and caring for our children when needed.

Words are not sufficient to explain how wonderful Miha is. She is patient, kind, and attentive to each child and considerate to everyone's specific needs. The children have so much fun and blossom under Miha's care. Not only is Miha a wonderful teacher to the students, but her teachings influence their behavior outside of the classroom as well and makes our lives so much easier. All 3 of my kids had easy & smooth potty training experiences because of Miha's consistent guidance. I emulated a lot of the firm & gentle parenting practices that Miha implements at school, and I saw first hand how much my kids thrived in this environment. At school, the children do many academic learning & hands on craft activities. Not only were my 2 older kids prepared academically to enter Kindergarten, but socially as well. One of the best things about Roly Poly is the mixed-age small group setting. Each of my kids entered the school as the youngest (18 months - 2 years) and learned so much from the older children. Then as they grew older, they matured and transitioned into a responsible/leadership role and took care of and guided the younger children. It was amazing to see each child evolve! I am forever thankful that we found Roly Poly and were able to have our children in a safe and caring environment with a trustworthy teacher like Miha. They cover meals which has been super helpful, and our son even naps there (an absolute struggle at home). He comes home smiling, with new songs and stories about his friends at school. Her third day there, I went to pick her up and saw Christina's son, a 5 year old with autism, walk up to a 2 year old child who was sitting on the floor. He walked up and kicked this child twice really hard and she screamed, Christina looked back and her son kicked the child once again. Christina said, "oh are you trying to play tag with her?" Obviously not LOL. She picks up the screaming child and consoles her. Within a minute of the first incident, Christina's son came up to this same child again and pushed her forehead so that she fell completely off of a bench. Christina said "oh are you trying teach her safety? Bottoms on the bench please, Ella." The violence was completely unprovoked. I asked Christina if we could have a check in about what happened. This is where the one star rating comes in. If we met with Christina and Brian and had an adult conversation, my daughter would still be enrolled. Unfortunately, they seemed unclear why we would want to talk about the events I witnessed to someone else's child. In general Christina and Brian seem to be on very different pages about a number of things, so make sure you communicate with both of them there and in agreement with each other. Even before we met to discuss her son physically hurting this other child, Christina called me and said, "hey it has been a really long week and Fridays we clean the whole house and I have a strict bedtime routine for my son, so I can't give you an hour of my time. This really has to be 20 minutes or less." Totally fine, I didn't see anything wrong with that but it struck me as odd and unprofessional. Similar to the next event, I kept saying "ok" and let her vent. The meeting was the most awkward and unprofessional experience. I wanted to know: 1. how often is this 5 year old child randomly hitting toddlers? 2. how can you make sure this doesn't happen to my kid. I asked why Christina why she suggested he was trying to play tag or teach safety and why I didn't hear anything close to, "honey we don't hit our friends" and she said that she tells the other kids "No hitting" but not her son, because he has autism and she handles that in a unique way. This was the first time autism was brought up and it was brought up by Christina. I don't care that their kid has autism, I care that he is abusing kids and it isn't being dealt with. The entire conversation was 15 minutes of defensiveness. Keep in mind, the child who was kicked and pushed was not even my child. Brian was very quick to go to the edge of his seat and actually raise his voice and start yelling that we are crossing a line and having him defend his parenting. My husband said "clearly this is a trigger, we're first time parents and just wanted to know that this isn't common practice here." Christina said maybe my 14 month old was too young to be there at her daycare. Brian was running around the house frantically gathering my daughters things and Christina was teary eyed and repeatedly apologizing for him in a whisper tone. Super awkward. That is when it became clear that I was left on a holiday weekend without childcare for the following week, the first day of my new job. I really needed and wanted this place to work. Even as Brian started raising his voice and acting incredibly unprofessional, we still maintained our composure (because we are adults) and because I knew I still needed day care for my daughter. I think this place has a lot of promise. There seems to be a conflict of interest having their son in the day care. Christina and Brian should work on communication between themselves and how they (mostly Brian) communicates with parents. I certainly hope they are informing parents when intentional violence is happening to their child. Accidents happen but this was repeated, intentional, and inappropriate. They are running an entire business built around keeping kids safe and I think they need to refocus around that guiding principle. Unfortunately as someone who also works with children, I feel inclined to report this facility. It was a difficult transition for him since he had no formal schooling prior to this. In fact, this was his first separation being away from his parents. Miss Janet and her staff were patient, loving, nurturing and supportive. Here are a few things you should know if you're considering enrollment: 1) The children are constantly supervised in the house and schoolyard. The place is secured with an adult at all times. The backyard is set up with perfectly for the littles ones. Bright, colorful and cheery. 2) The school is sufficiently supplied with learning materials, and follows through with a structured program. They also have music, exercise classes and story time, learning songs, dance movements and educational sessions. 3) It is preferred if your child is potty-trained but if not, Miss Janet and Staff works with your child. Proof is with my Grandson!!! 4) They are taught to be responsible, listen to instructions and directions. Never saw a child out-of-line. Miss Janet is firm but does it with love and positive reinforcement. 5) If your child is a picky eater like ours, they'll learn to love the homemade meals prepared for by Miss Janet. The meals are healthy and has helped develop tastebuds. 6) Holidays and birthdays are always festive. Miss Janet even has programs set up for the Parents to enjoy including Graduation ceremonies. 7) I have come by to pick up our Grandson at lunchtime a number of times and the children are in TOTAL control. There's no yelling, screaming or disorder. 8) If there is an outbreak of illness, Miss Janet notifies the families and immediately sanitizes everything. For months, my Grandson cried in the mornings because he missed his parents, but there was Miss Janet, nurturing with her arms extended and he went right to her. She even came out of her house once morning because she heard him crying 2 houses away!! Miss Janet is an Angel and as a Grandmother, I wish somebody like her was around for my daughters at this age. She prepares them for TK & Kindergarten. How does she manage with 10-12 kids at a time?? I have no idea but she must be doing something right because whatever she does, IT WORKS!!! Our Grandson will be moving on to TK and I must say, it'll be sad to see him leave such a beautiful and intimate setting with filled with love. My wish is that another child may be as fortunate to be a student under Miss Janet's care. She's amazing and a great blessing to many children, parents AND Grandparents. We couldn't have been luckier meeting Angelina, Vivi and her wonderful family. Angelina has been in business for 40+ years and she and her daughter Vivianne have cared for our kids as if they were their own. I met Vivi during the pandemic when we were looking for childcare after ours had abruptly closed due to the pandemic. She welcomed us with open arms. Their space for the kids is clean, organized and every day they have play-based and social-emotional activities to engage the kids and teach them life skills. They do artwork regularly that teaches them about the seasons, they learn how to write the letters of the alphabet and focus on 3-4 letters a month with creative art projects, they learn spanish, they play outside and inside, they go on nature walks in Golden Gate Park, they bring in a dance teacher for dance class 1x/week. But they are much more than the activities they provide. They are loving caregivers and we consider them as part of our family. They help kids come into their own, they teach them how to be good, caring, compassionate children. They teach them how to express themselves and problem solve. And they are loving above all. I've gotten wonderful support and guidance from them as a parent navigating motherhood. They've helped me through potty training, teething, transitional periods, sleep challenges, etc. I cannot recommend them enough and my kids will remember them as being instrumental in their young lives. If you are considering them for daycare of preschool, stop looking, this is your place! You will not regret it.

Some of her art projects are detailed and creative, and she loves bringing her school activities home, from demonstrating yoga poses and building with materials. They also go on weekly field trips for a change of pace. Vivi is so attuned to my granddaughter's shyness, gently encouraging her to speak up and participate in class. Even though my child was only attended Little Adventure Children Center for two months, the positive impact on our child's confidence with learning skills and social skills was remarkable and preparation for TK. A huge thank you so much to Teacher Katherine and Teacher Lin Lin for their incredible care and dedication. The additional Chinese language program was fantastic as well. My child loved it and we were so amazed to hear when my child speaking Chinese language at home even though Chinese is not our home language. Additionally, We also loved getting daily photos and videos on the app to stay updated on all our child's activities at school. I highly recommend this school to any family!
