I have had a fear of dentists since I was a child, I had a traumatic experience with the numbing shots at 6 years old and a traumatic experience with that dentist as well. I have avoided dentists for a long time, going once every two years for a cleaning. I went nearly 4 years before going to see the Dr's as Zorillas office. They did not shame me, they reassured me this was a wonderful step to taking care of myself. That I deserved to take care of myself. For the office being labeled as cosmetic, they do not push at all for whitening or straightening, or anything you didn't book for. They did my cleaning and asked if I had questions about additional services, gave me a goodie bag and booked me for a cavity fill that I paid my copay for, and after that appt they booked me 6 months out. I finally found an honest Dentist that truly cares about the patient and is not concerned with trying to upsell you on unnecessary procedures. I have gone to several dentists and it was like going to a used car dealer. They recommend very expensive procedures that are not necessary at the time, & put you in a room with a someone that tries to use high pressure sales techniques. These are corporate dentists more interested in profit than patient care. I saw Dr. Charlene Uy and the experience could not have been better. She recommended a solution, which was much less than I thought it would be. She is very accommodating to anyone with anxiety about seeing a dentist. The receptionist/manager Colleen is extremely friendly and willing to listen to your questions, and just a nice person. The dental assistant I had was also friendly, knew her job well, and was concerned about your comfort. If you want a dental practice that you do not have to fear about trying to rip you off, and who truly takes their patient's care to heart, Dr Zorilla & Dr. Uy & staff is the place you want to go. read more

A couple years ago, I started having pains from my wisdom teeth. My dentist checked them out, confirmed it was from my wisdom teeth, and prescribed some medication for the time. Although they were causing me a little bit of pain, they didn't need to be removed just yet. I could deal with intermittent pain (which usually seemed to happen when I had a cold... strange) until then. Earlier this year, the pain returned in my lower right jaw... which was pretty normal. However, it seemed different. Fortunately, I had a regular check-up scheduled and the dentist was able to look at it right away. Just another small pain -- no need for any wisdom teeth removal. It didn't even faze him. No issues found anywhere. OK, cool. Then it got worse. And made me cry. And kept me up all night. Finally,after one evening of nonstop whimpering and crying from me, my husband called 1-800-Dentist to see what they could do. They checked my insurance and referred me to Frank Zorrilla for a second opinion. I arrived the next day to the nicest dentist office I've ever seen -- so clean and modern, with friendly, smiling staff. I was led to a spacious room in the back with large windows. Dr. Zorrilla came in with warm greetings, took a quick look at my teeth, and confirmed that my wisdom tooth needed to come out right away. I was relieved to hear this, but a bit annoyed that my other dentist didn't have any concern about it. Since the tooth was only slightly impacted, it would be an easier extraction -- Dr. Zorrilla is able to do them himself (no need for an oral surgeon). The wisdom tooth was extracted a few days later. He used a series of numbing shots on the right side of my mouth so I could stay awake during the procedure (it was just one tooth, if it had been all four of them, I would be asleep for it). I had several bad experiences with the shots being incredibly painful at the previous dentist, so I was a bit anxious about it --- but they didn't hurt here! Little pinpricks and then happy numbness. The procedure took nearly an hour, longer than expected. Not gonna lie -- it kind of hurt, a discomfort kind of pain with occasional bolts of lightning across my jaw (since I was numb). Dr. Zorrilla admitted to "beating me up a little bit" as he added stitches to the hole, and my chin experienced slight unending numbness for a couple months until it faded (one of the numbing shots must've hit a nerve), but I was still content with the whole experience. Would I do it again? Not sure. I'll probably opt to have all three removed at the same time while being knocked out. I returned a few months later for a regular check-up and learned from one of the dental assistants (or was she a dentist? not sure) that I had been flossing incorrectly all my life. Gah! She patiently taught me how to floss well and cleaned up my teeth, all while humming along to the music that was playing in the room (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, etc.). Dr. Zorrilla did an exam and found a few cavities. Rawrr again!! My previous dentist hadn't noticed them at all, a mere six months ago. Maybe they weren't there? Maybe they didn't seem serious? But I still should know. The cavities don't require immediate attention but it's something I'll have to take care of soon. So thankful for this office and their focus on preventative maintenance. Now I have a better understanding of all the fun stuff that happens with my teeth and more knowledge about how to take of them. Bright smiles all around. :D read more

Responding... it is correct that your office attempted to confirm; however, left a message the day before saying that were canceling the appt, which is why I did not show up. To clarify, I responded later to a message regarding Covid fees from a prior visit in the amount of $20. The cancellation fee was not mentioned until I questioned that charge. I am less concerned with the actual fee (that I haven't even been officially billed for yet) than I am with the nasty way I was treated and the accusation that I purposely wasted your time and just couldn't bother to call. That is a quote from your lovely staff. The vmail canceling the appt was on 12/22 @4:08pm for a 12/23 appt The vmail I responded to was on 12/28 referring to "just a small $20 balance". read more

I've been going to Frank and his team since 2009 and I am extremely pleased. I think the worst place to have to go is the dentist (and no lie...they DO hurt me) but the people there are so friendly, accommodating, and just really nice. Frank is the best and he always tries to make me feel as comfortable as possible during a procedure and checks in to make sure I am ok... Also love when he hums/sings to the great music that plays in the office (lots of great Sade!!) LOL. read more

I was in serious pain and my usual dentist said he couldn't see me until 4 days later. I called Dr. Z's office and Colleen set me up for the next morning. He got me in and out in less than 20 minutes, but I definitely didn't feel hurried or rushed. Now, a few days later, the pain is totally gone. Dr. Z is very professional, warm, and understanding. He made me feel comfortable and at ease, and he has a very light touch with the needle (whew). The support staff is fantastic and friendly. Colleen verified my insurance information right away and gave me straightforward answers--no hemming and hawing, just the information I asked for. Plus (and for me, this is a HUGE plus) nobody annoyed me with sales pitches or tried to get me to buy anything, which I hated about some other dentists in this area (no names...they know who they are). After my daughter suffered a bike riding accident, she impacted her 3 front teeth. We contacted our newly acquired family dentist, at the time, who specialized in "Emergency Dentistry". They would not be able to see us until after 3 days, the partners they referred us to were also booked. One office actually told us, if your not an existing patient we will not schedule an emergency visit (Guess who will NEVER be their patient now). As a last resort I contacted 1800-dentist, they put me in touch with Dr. Zorilla's office. Not only did Colleen fit us in immediately but our experience was so amazing that we scheduled appointments for the entire family, cancelling existing appointments with our now former dentist. This is the best dentist office I have ever been to! The office staff is so nice - I have never had a bad experience with their staff here. They always greet you so nicely and inquire as to how you are doing. It just feels very personable. Also important is that we have never had any billing issues with them as well they are on top of things. The dental hygienist who does the teeth cleaning is so very nice. She is such a calm person and makes getting your teeth cleaned a more pleasant experience. Dr. Zorrilla is a fantastic dentist. He can do things so quickly and efficiently that I am amazed every time I get something done. I have never had an issue with his work and I've had quite a few things done there - tooth extraction, root canal, filling, you name it. I have had 'Get a Dentist' on my to-do list for over two years, I absolutely HATE going to the dentist. This morning I had a filling come out of my upper tooth. This was mortifying as it substantiated that I have put this off too long. After calling some friends and reading a yelp review, I called Dr. Frank's office. They got me in right in the afternoon and boy did he fix me up! I am going back to have him take care the rest of the normal visit stuff, but Dr. Frank and his staff were wonderful! In the chair, x-rayed, drilled, and filled in 50 minutes. Very thoughtful and attentive about the numbing and my overall comfort level. Very nice! read more

I am very particular about dentists. I had one that i went to, Dr Ron Ritzert -in Oakbrook, that i trusted to do anything. His office was close to mine, and he was very friendly and good at what he did. I left that job and it was no longer convenient to see him, as he was 1.5 hours away from my office. If he were closer, i'd still be seeing him.... Since then, I've been to 4 more dentists ended up either walking out of the office before the appointment, or sitting through the appointment and then not ever making a follow up. My tooth started hurting 2 weeks ago, so i made an appointment with Dr. Zorrilla - unsure what i'd find. I went for the first time to see Dr. Zorrilla today, and I'm impressed (and will be returning). His office is clean and his staff is friendly. While i didn't have any work done today, I'm not worried (well, no more than i would be if i didn't have to get work done) about him not doing a good job. I'll report more after my root canal is done, but I'm not anticipating removing the 5 stars from this review. read more

I have been going to Dr Zorrilla's office for years now and have the highest level of trust with them. From getting a basic cleaning to having major cosmetic work completed, I'm always a happy patient when leaving. One of the things I like best about the office is that Dr Zorrilla gives you options on how much work and when, so I feel comfortable making those kind of decisions. For example, this is what's critical, this we can do next time, the filling isn't ready to be replaced just yet- maybe next year, etc. My smile sincerely looks amazing. This is the first time we have seen Dr. Zorrilla, 10-15-2014. After only 10 minutes of being in the office and getting my wifes tooth examined, the problem was found and to her joy NO PAIN AT ALL. Just needs a crown. We got to the dentist in time two more weeks and the tooth would have been gone. I would would like to rate him 10 stars but there is no option. I gave 5 stars only because that is the most they allow. This practice is amazing!! From the first phone call Colleen was not only a pleasant voice she was beyond helpful! I was a DDS delinquent in which I had allowed several years to go by before finding a new dentist. Colleen eased my fears and scheduled me for an appt within a day or so (so I couldn't change my mind lol) upon arrival she greeted me warmly as if we were old friends and each and every time since then! She has been incredible with helping me understand my insurance & what my costs are! She extremely knowledgeable. What an amazing asset to have as the face of this practice! Next I met the hygienist Ewa who was equally great so friendly and sweet! She eased my fears with her warm smile and amazing personality!!
