I cannot believe the blatant disregard and unprofessionalism on the part of this office, the reception staff, nurses, PA's and the doctors on staff. My biposy results have been in the office for days, I have called inumerable times for my results only to be put off again and again. No phonecalls returned, no results given to me. I am making it my business to tell others, who are concerned about their skin and their health to avoid this office. Absolutely awful experience...and I continue to wait for my results, not knowing what the results are. I cannot think of a more incompassionate way to deal with a concerned patient. read more

I am writing to review Dr. Kass Sadri of Dr.Demento's dermatology office in Garden City which was recently taken over by Dr. Schweiger. I have gone to Dr. Demento's office for 20 years and have had 5 squamous cell cancers successfully removed during that time. After my visit with Dr. Sadri I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I have dealt with a great many doctors over the course of my lifetime, but Kass Sadri stands out as arrogant, self-involved, uncaring, abrupt, unpleasant and unprofessional. He barely looked me over for my "full-body" check and I had to remind him to examine my scalp. When I told him I'd been trouble by fungal infections, he told "No you haven't." (He then proceeded to write me a prescription for what turned out to be a fungicidal cream!). When I asked him to look at a nail which was giving me trouble, he flat-out refused, telling me, "I don't do nails." He was in the room for perhaps 7 minutes during which he spent several minutes pompously informing me about moles -- a lecture I neither asked for nor wanted. If you are looking for a dermatologist with an iota of humanity, DON'T go to Dr. Sadri. As for me, I won't enter the Schweiger office again because anyone who would keep such a person in their employ has no understanding of the Hippocratic Oath. read more

The doctors are fine--I've been examined well there. The office and scheduling is a train wreck. I've been there twice. Both times I completed my paperwork 30 mins. before my appointment time. Both times I was still sitting in the waiting room 1:15 minutes later, with no explanation or acknowledgement that the office was running massively behind schedule. On my most recent visit, I approached the front desk 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to get an idea of when I'd be seen and when the appointment would likely be finished. They could not give me any estimate and offered no apology or explanation, which leads me to believe that this is just the way this place operates. I asked for my co-pay back (there was no delay there--they took my money when turned in my paperwork), and I made an appointment with another doctor. I don't expect a doctor's office to operate like it's a McDonald's. But this place is not getting a lot of walk-in gunshot wounds; it's not crazy to expect they see you (or tell you what the holdup is) within an hour of the time they tell you to arrive. Including travel time, this episode wasted two hours, and I never got to see a doctor. Never again. read more

Dr. Demento showed no concern for my worry about a skin irritation on my leg. I explained that my doctor referred me to him because she thinks it needs a closer look, but he didn't want to hear anything I had to say. He just dismissed me as quick as he could by saying that it's dry skin and use some lotion. I was disgusted with my experience. read more

If you want to wait over an hour and treated by an uncaring staff, this is the place for you. I had an appointment at 2:50 in the afternoon and arrived promptly. I told the staff I had to take time off from work in the middle of the day to keep the appointment. I waited and waited. Finally after waiting an hour I told them I had to leave. They then informed me that the doctor was backed up and in surgery. After an hour they tell me this? They acted like they couldn't care less. read more

I needed an appointment before the year was up. My dermatologist no longer accepted my insurance. I chose Dr Demento's office because they accepted my plan. I had to see the PA because no doctor was available. She was very nice but I got the feeling she was inexperienced. She asked if there was anything on my butt that needed to be looked at. Not sure how many people can see their butt to answer that. I was there for a full body scan and I thing my butt should have been included. She also said I had a wart she would like to freeze off not telling me my insurance did not cover that minor procedure. It turned black and it is not a wart by the way as it is still there. Now my insurance won't cover it because it is cosmetic, I wonder if it was on my butt if that would have made a difference. Now Dr Demento's office wants $300 for the terrible medical service. This was not a great experience for a first time patient. Not going back and I would not suggest them to anyone else. read more

I had been a previous patient and returned for my daughter and husband. Staff unfriendly when making the appointment seemed like I was bothering them. I did receive a phone reminder of my appointment and to arrive 10 min early for paperwork, like most offices do. My husband ran late from work and we hit traffic. Also, the office is a little far from home but being a prior patient I wanted to go back. We did arrive to the office 15 minutes late. One appointment was 5:30 the other 5:50. We signed in and was seated. 5 minutes later I was told that we could not be seen because we were late. The refused to take the 5:50 appointment because I did not arrive the 10 minutes prior for paperwork, meanwhile I could have filled it out while my daughter was seen. They said the PA had appointments and we would have to reschedule. I had no words as I have never had this happen to me before, I was surprised that the office would not be more helpful to resolve the situation and would have at least seen my daughter at the time we were there. I think it is ridiculous and obviously they are not looking for patients. Honestly if they are that strict with appointments it would have meant I would have been seen for 20 min and gone. this is not a practice I want to be a patient of and would never reschedule. If you go to this office make sure you are on time and arrive early or you will not be seen. They should have made this clear when I made the appointment. I would have cancelled. I wanted to call and say I was running late, I should have. I am sorry but that is not how you treat patients. I have waited many long times for a doctor and never left. I would have been willing to even come back later after the other patients were seen. something else should have been offered. Let alone Good Luck trying to get an appointment with Dr Demento you will only see a PA which honestly I hate. Glad to be gone. Office staff horrible. read more

The Dr I saw was Dr Demento and his name reflects his attitude. I went in for a removal of a calcium deposit or as he stated a "hard pimple" that I could take out myself with a needle. I paid $75 co pay and my insurance was billed for the first visit. Within two days the "pimple" came back so I did as the Dr told me and I went back. Again I paid $75 and my insurance was billed for a second time. He also removed two small skin tags which he had wanted to charge me an additional $150. When I declined he told me I didn't have to pay he'd find a way to charge my insurance for a non existant biopsy charge. The pimple can back yet again within two days and I went back because he said he wouldn't charge me. I went this morning and his rude office staff refused to let me see him until I paid the $75 fee first. When I asked to speak with him they just walked away form me, hoping I'd leave no doubt. But when I kept standing at their window and asking to see him, they offered me the office manager which I declined. Then an aide said she'd go see him. When the aide came back she told me that I had to pay to talk with him. Who is this this guy, GOD? He's a dermatologist who should be retired since he can't do his job right the first time. I think that when a Doctor does a procedure and it re-occurs twice again it's up to him to complete the work and not charge someone for a bad job that he did. To think that this man has gained money by doing a bad job on myself and who knows how many others. The only reason I can think he would do this is so I had to return to get yet the same procedure done again, so I could line his pockets again. This man, who calls himself a doctor is a scammer. He gets paid to do the same work over and over again. I don't know about others but when I do a job I do it right the first time and if I have to do it again due to sloppiness I don't get paid twice or thrice as this man does. As I sat there in the office I heard two other individuals have a loud disagreement about the same so called Dr. Demento and his lack of caring. His office staff is incompetent and rude. They have over four people working the windows but your always waiting over an hour, when you ask a question they can't be bothered to be decent enough to look at you. Demento is someone who obviously double bills insurance companies for incompetent work that he should be responsible for. Double dipping? This whole experience will be reported to my insurance company and everyone I can tell so they do not experience the say nonsense, rudeness and an incompetent DR. This will also be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Find another Dr who isn't over 75 and a scam artist. He doesn't deserve any stars but this message won't be posted if I didn't hit at least one. He sucks. read more
