Horrible office with zero cost transparency. The physicians will proceed with anything without consent and then send crazy exorbitant bills. Example: came in for advice on my recent acne flare up. The PA proceeded to pop pimples on my chin which I did not ask for nor did she ask if I wanted this. Because of this, I got more pimples in the area and had scarring. Then a few weeks later the bill came in and they had labeled it as "Acne Surgery". After insurance, I still owed $130 (over $300 before). I reached out and pushed back on this, to which they claimed it was an appropriate charge and I gave consent (which I did not do). Excuse me, while I go change my career to acne surgeon - I'm a pro. It took me months to get this fixed because their billing department is in no way shape or form connected to the actual practice. I eventually spoke to someone there who was able to get it taken care of, 4 or 5 months later. Just as a word to the wise, ask up front every step of the way while you're at your appointment. It's okay to tell a doctor you're being mindful of cost and would like to be aware of what will be charged so you can deny it up front. read more

Since the beginning of the pandemic I have avoided going to a medical office unless I absolutely had to. Recently I have developed an extremely uncomfortable rash and knew it had to be treated. I made an appointment with the confidence that it would be a safe environment and that my rash would be treated. Every expectation I had was confirmed. The front desk staff, the manager, and the entire staff all masked and welcoming. The Medical Assistant, Bitsy , so warmly escorted me to my exam room and asked me preliminary questions. Then she introduced me to Dr. Fenton who i had never met. I was so grateful for his knowledge and time he took to diagnose and explain the course of treatment he was going to recommend. All these reviews about people getting POP BILLS are true. I just got mine in the mail and someone from an AUSTRALIAN number just called me saying I owe $325 after a year of going there. Went there a year and a half ago and JUST got billed for some treatment they gave me during a routine skin evaluation, that didn't work, which they say is my responsibility because Medicare and the insurance I had at the time paid what they felt was fair. The insurance company I had told me I should have only had to pay my co-pay of $40; I did ask the staff at Schweiger if I owed anything after each and every visit, and they always said no. A year and a half after treatment, they claim I owe, not $40, but $450! Apparently they went nuts with some kind of laser device on some age spots, which they certainly didn't discuss with me ahead of time, and that's what this was. They also said they would "take care of" a patch of dry skin on my back with their pricey little laser treatments, and that NEVER got any better. Now I live in another state, am retired and on a fixed income, and don't want anyone playing with my credit, so they got their money. But I have the satisfaction of telling you that if you deal with this outfit, this is how you will get treated. I see from the other reviews I'm not alone. read more

I made an appointment online but then received a cancellation email, so I called the Long Beach office. The woman who helped me on the phone was excellent. I received the same appointment I had originally made. The office practiced every safety precaution; the assistant in the examination room did a fine job and the doctor (Charisse Dolitsky, MD) diagnosed me quickly and provided me with free Rx samples, since I don't have drug coverage. read more

didn't have a good experience here. came in for a full body check & because i had a random flare up of an uncomfortable rash on my leg. the full body check took all of one minute which i was surprised as i have a lot of freckles and am very fair skinned. the rash i have on my leg was diagnosed from the doctor looking at it from across the room and she just said, "looks like eczema". i've never had eczema in my life. i was prescribed two creams that didn't work and now i have to take time out of my busy schedule to find another dermatologist. read more

This office is a nightmare. Shall I begin with the billing department? The billing department that never calls back despite leaving 6+ voicemails during business hours for bills I shouldn't be getting. All the way to the incompetent doctors that sent a 19 year old for "skin cancer removal" which resulted in 7 ripped stitches only to be told it wasn't skin cancer. After my annual full skin review I was informed that I needed surgery to remove some cancerous cells. I had the necessary surgery a few days later under the capable hands of Dr. Fenton. He was ably assisted by three Physician Assistants. I observed the entire procedure with great interest. Afterwards, when answering my wife's text, "Are you OK?" I replied "Wonderful! Already had the first surgery done. Antibiotic will be available for pickup tomorrow, Back here in two weeks to remove stitches and do another smaller surgery on the opposite side of my leg. Great surgery and staff!" This was definitely the "A" Team. They provided me with an extremely interesting and enjoyable experience dealing with all my questions as the surgery progressed. Felt it wasn't a through exam and was rushed out in the two minutes I was in there? The growths that were frozen haven't gone away and appear to be the same? I am happy to say that my wait at Schweiger Dermatology was very short. I was greeted kindly by front staff and then within a few minutes, escorted to a room. The intake person (her name escapes me) was such a friendly, pleasant woman. I waited only a brief time before Dr. Dolitsky arrived. I was using Great Neck Dermatology (which became a Schweiger office) for 20 years as I lived on the North Shore, I moved to the South Shore and debated trying the one in Long Beach, as opposed to driving North. Well, all I can say is do NOT be fooled by the home residence converted to a Doctors office. I stopped in first to check it out and the place was spotless, modern and everyone was very helpful. They did all the insurance paperwork and then booked me for the following week. When I arrived for the appointment 15 minutes early, they were moving folks in and out with precision. I got called in, an assistant asked all the medical questions/history and type them right into the iPad. 5 minutes later, Dr.Tutone (who had worked in Great NecK) came in with a P.A. and did a full body scan/checkup in about 15 minutes, explained the problem areas and gave me a plan for my issues. I was in and out in an hour and felt really confident that I received excellent medical expertise. I'm scheduled to see them again in three weeks. This is the first tine I've been there with them under the Schweiger Banner. The office is remodeled and beautiful, there was little to no wait time the Doctor came right in after the Nurse, no waiting in your robe for 20 minutes! I had a thorough annual screening and a prescription I needed called into precision pharmacy across the street ASAP. This was the best Doctor experience I've had in a long while, and while i always see a different doctor ( whomever is available really but always a female ) annually ~ I saw Dr.Tutrone this time and he was amazing! You have to leave a message when there is a billing error BUT no one calls you back. I have been billed twice for the same date of service ( this is not the first time) This will ruin their practice. Had two procedures done, and had to return to see why my hand was not healing... Dr spoke to me for 30 seconds and referred problem to his assistant Gina. She is the best person in this entire office, When I questioned the Doctor about my first procedure, which he originally said if "you aren't satisfied with the results we can do it again with no problem - I was informed at the desk I would have to pay again for the procedure, not just for another office visit. By this time the doctor was no longer in the office for any discussion. I've been coming to this practice for years and it seems to have grown into a better practice over the past few years. Every staff member is friendly, helpful and professional. I feel comfortable seeing any of the doctors or the PA's when I schedule my appointments because although they have different styles and personalities they are all great. The office is immaculate and the wait times are usually fine (I have no tolerance for excessive wait times). The only recent issue that I've had is that I asked for prices of a treatment and they were very very high so I went elsewhere. When I discussed it with them in person I was told that the process were lowered and I will use them in the future for that treatment. Oh one more thing that I don't mike is that the automated system is a bit excessive with reminders about bills and appointments but I spoke to them about it and they can change settings.
