The prep work- it is all about the prep as anyone will tell you- was thorough, and nearly dust-free. Down to bare wood or solid old finish, sanded, primed, and two coats, well-applied. No one can do this level of work without hiring and retaining excellent people, and Erwin clearly has. Victor and David were on-time, respectful of neighbors, generous with automobile covers, and did outstanding work at all levels (and floors!) Not just the painting, but the carpentry. (I have renovated several houses over my lifetime and his crew, the same as were painting, were as good as any I hired in over 40 years.) The painting was crisp and immaculate, The site was cleaned up daily and the inevitable impacts on we the occupants, was held to the absolute minimum. I wanted my living room, hallway, ceilings, and kitchen ceiling painted. Within maybe a day or two they had come to my house to do an estimate (adorable couple by the way!), and I got on their schedule and it was done within a week. Just recently I had electrical work done in living room that required replacing wallboard/patching walls and ceiling, and then it all had to be painted. Which of course reminded me I wanted my bedroom painted...and then another room. I texted Laila to ask if Flávio was available to come give an estimate and like magic he was here! His crew was currently working on an outside project, and he asked if we could schedule soon on a day when rain was predicted. I said sure and then within a week he was at my house with two others. The two others (Fabricio and Eduardo) were introduced to me, and then they came in with masks and set up draping etc. During the process, some issues were noticed. Flávio showed me that some additional work needed to be done and I approved. I like that they are meticulous and want things done correctly. The crew was at my house for four days...the first two from 8am - 7pm! Hard workers for sure...and they got a lot done in four days. I expected their attention to detail and customer service to be just as detailed as their estimate but they fell far short of meeting our expectations. If it weren't for me directing the painters each day, we would've had a number of areas that were either not painted at all, not properly prepped, or painted the wrong color. I gave one star because their painters did an acceptable job...but only because I had to manage them by myself. They needed direction, which the project manager Pete did not provide. And when he was here he never gave me a heads up; if I happened to notice Pete was here he would disappear before I could get outside to look at things with him. At the end of the job, even on the last day, he did not meet with us when punch list items should have been reviewed. They also refused to do the last bit of work we planned on. It was estimated separately because they were still discussing with us which floor sealer to use and another contractor had to install the gutters first before they came back to paint them. Pete, backed up by Nigel (the owner) decided they didn't want to work with us anymore because they "did not meet our expectations." Normally if a business admits to not meeting the expectations of their customer, they try to correct the problem to make the customer happy. In this case, apparently because we complained about the above issues as well as some damage to our antique hardware and floor, they dumped us with 1-2 days work left to do. (They didn't have to honor the second estimate because we hadn't paid a deposit yet - they hadn't billed us yet, though we technically had a verbal and written agreement via email). Lesson learned, if you arrange work on a separate estimate, be sure to pay the deposit so they are locked into finishing your job! When invoiced, they tried to charge us for work not done (I knew this because I was here everyday managing the job) so i had to ask them to reduce the bill by that amount. When I received the adjusted invoice, I asked for a discount due to our dismal experience, the amount of personal time I had to spend managing this project, as well as the damage that they did not address. The owner responded by threatening to have his lawyer put a lien on our house instead of first trying to make this right, which is the number one tenet of customer service. Incredibly disappointing and confusingly awful customer service. DO NOT HIRE THEM.

His crew arrived on time every day, was minimally invasive, and very friendly. They got the job done in a week, despite one day of rain when they couldn't work. Although it's only been a week, the paint job looks great. Thiago is incredibly responsive, which is rarely the case with contractors. After the job, a phone line had been left dangling (not a big deal). I texted Thiago, and within a couple of hours, it was fixed. First, he said he was insured, that was a lie. Then he sent me a release of the homeowner liability form to sign. This was a small exterior touch up job on the fascia, some windows and some base paint for $520.00 dollars. Bill dropped off one painter at 9 am and returned at 5 pm then waited for the painter to finish. He didn't explain the details of the job to his painter, I had too. No drop clothes were used around the perimeter. By 6 pm, he said he was done but the paint chips were scattered around the perimeter of the property while he waited in his truck for his guy to finish. I had to clean it up. The next day, I saw several missed spots. I texted him twice about it, no reply. He got his MONEY, so he doesn't need to reply to me anymore. The signed contract included the details of the work but that doesn't matter to him, he doesn't care if the work was done right or not. He complained to me that his elderly painter is too slow, milks the job and pays him $20 per hour. So $180 for the painter @ 9 hours and $340 for him doing nothing. His Bio in the about section is BS, read it. Maybe if the job was 5k or higher, he would care more?? The reviews looked decent but add me to the negative one. I sent him this review beforehand to see if he would follow up and finish the job. I got nothing from him which proves he doesn't care. As soon as he realized his guys were going to slow (day 3) he tried to renegotiate with me. He took my payment and walked off the job without telling me. My house has been left in shambles. In my opinion he is a liar and a cheat. He stole from me and even worse left me home in horrible condition. Walls are half painted, wall paper is half removed, they accidentally removed the wrong wall paper and painted the wrong walls - even after we all walked the house together, marked the rooms, and I created a contract that detailed everything. I have to pay another painter to come and fix what he left. This is a nightmare. I suggest you stay away from him.
