I am SO IMPRESSED by Soares Plastering Corp! I had a wonderful experience from quote to cleanup, and would like to share my positive feedback in case it helps the decision on your next project. I recently needed two new basement rooms drywalled, and turned to Yelp for some help. Soares noticeably had a perfect score, so I included them in my quote search. I sent my request late at night (10PM)... and received a response minutes later! Soares helped me confirm the best drywall product for my scenario, and was well-spoken about a variety of local vendors including Marjam, Home Depot, etc. Soares kept in regular contact up until the installation date, answered my questions, gave advance notice of arrival, and arrived on time. The day of the install, the guys were so respectful to my family, gentle to the main floor of my home, and wore COVID-19 masks. I was immediately delighted (and relieved) by their care and attention. And the quality of the work? MAGNIFICENT! They clearly have this down to a science. One guy is on stilts and fastening the ceiling with the grace of a gazelle, while another is measuring, pre-planning, and making sheet cuts like a surgeon! I tried not to peek on the progress too often, but in reality I could watch experts do their trades all day. The quality is THROUGHOUT the job -- its more than just a pretty top coat. None of the electrical wires were nicked, the outlets and light boxes were carefully roto-zipped, the alignment of seams between wall and ceiling sheets were pristine, all screws consistently dimpled with precision. They did an honest, workmanlike job on my plaster ceiling repairs in virtually every room in my house. Affordable and pragmatic. Most others don't want to do plaster repairs, they just want to mount new drywall over the plaster at significantly more expense. That wasn't the best solution for my hundred year old house (or my budget), and I was glad to find Soares. With enough time built into the job, they took extra care to try and match the various textures of the existing ceiling plaster for the patches-- takes skill. Gabriel and his crew did a terrific job repairing the plaster ceilings in my 1930 house. They applied blueboard and skim coats in my living room, master bedroom, and bathroom, and patched or skim coated 4 other rooms and 3 hallways, all in two days. Gabriel did a thorough walk-through for the job and submitted a detailed estimate at a reasonable price. The Soares team demoed a section of drywall that was damaged by an ice dam and put up a new section that is all ready for me to paint. They were very accommodating. The stud bays were still wet from the ice dam so they demoed the old wall and came back the next week to hang the new while the studs dried. They made on site on time and finished ahead of time and did exactly what the said the could do with replace two damaged ceilings. Gabriel saved the day for us. He was responsive, on time, and the best part - the work was beautiful. He installed drywall and then plastered over it to create a smooth, brand new ceiling. gabriel and his team did an amazing job on our family room. they ripped out the paneling, insulated, drywalled and plastered the walls. we had the pop corned ceiling sanded and skim coated as well. each day, the place was cleaned up nicely as well.
