We met Dr Frankel at St Rose in Oct of 2020. I want to like him, but something was wrong. During my wifes first visit in Early Oct 2020, they said my wife had Liver Cancer. And it had spread to the bowels and Lungs. And she had 30 days. Now we had just been to Henderson Hospital in Sept of 2020, and they told her she had fatty liver. So after an exam the Dr said she has 4 liver masses one compressing the IVC which is causing temporary issues. And they ran every test known to man. Came back with Fatty liver. No Cancer. We came back in December as my wife had thrown up blood. Turned out she had a bleed from Acid Erosion in the Eshaphugus. But Dr Frankels notes say a History of Cirrhosis, Alchol abuse... etc..etc. I have the Biopsys CT/MRI/PET all in hand and they all say Fatty liver. So ? And my wife was a non drinker. We met with him Again in July of 2021. And he said your liver is fine, its healing really nice. Follow up in a year. So not sure what happened with the December notes if he confused her with someone else? But it causes significant mental trauma. read more

It was easy to make my 4pm appointment for today. I took off of work, got to appointment, and the door is locked. The sign on the door lists the hours so they should be open, and I have an appointment. So I call the office, no answer, at all. So I call again and this time hit the option "medical personnel trying to reach provider" -- I'm a nurse‍. Call center answers, tells me office closed at 230p today, there's no one for them to connect me to and the office doesn't accept messages! I am amazed that this is how a professional (?!) Doctor's office operates -- they closed early, didn't notify me and I had an appointment! If I had missed my appointment, they would have charged me $50! I will be calling them tomorrow to explain the depths of their SUCKAGE, suggest they pay me $50 for their missed appointment and I need a referral to a professional. read more

Frankel Desha MD is one of the best Upper Endoscopy and colonoscopy doctor in Vegas . Nurse Brown, Kerri RN, Holman, Demetrea GI TECH are very frendly and professional. I just did my procedure three hours ago. I was very pleased with my experience with Dr Frankel and his staff. read more

Office is extremely rude, they don't return calls. They are are very old school, not current on up to date on current procedures. I will never go to this office again. Waste of time and money, no wonder why they take every type of insurance. They are desperate for patients. read more

I have been to Dr. Frankel's office for some discomfort in my stomach. I was in there for 5 minutes and all he did was touch my stomach and said YOU NEED A COLONOSCOPY. I know he is colonoscopy doctor in Las Vegas. Well, I did not use him! Went to my own doctor. Needless to say, he is now sending me a bill for a five minute consult!! For $147. I don't like him at all, in and out in five minutes. I am filing a complaint to the State's Medical Board about him. I have called their billing department and left three messages. The last one was that they were on Jury Duty. Still no reply till I called today regarding my bill. He is only interested in doing colonoscopies. Other patients told me that he is the colonoscopy fanatic. Don't go to him. read more

I was referred to this doctor by the emergency room for a possible ulcer. Dr. Frankel was able to see me and then the following day do my endoscopy. Turns out I have a hiatal hernia. Dr. Frankel is a Gastroenterologist in Henderson. I was referred to see him by my primary Doctor. The location is easy to find - off of Gibson/Wigwam, just off the 215. It's in a business park, but parking was limited a bit. The office itself seems older. I didn't feel like I was in a Doctor's office, it was really kind of weird. Dr. Frankel was very nice and wasn't running too far behind. When I made my appointment, they sent me paperwork to fill out in advance (all electronic) to save time on the day of. The only real issue I have was with my appointment.....It took me a couple of months to get an appointment, and I specifically asked the receptionist if they call with courtesy reminders. She said yes, and that was the last I thought of it.....Well, I called to confirm my date and they said that I had missed my appointment - they never called with a reminder or anything. It was really frustrating because I waited so long and would've never just no-showed. I rescheduled and once again asked that they call me with a reminder (which I was rudely told that is a "courtesy" and not guaranteed). I have never been to a Doctor that doesn't call around 48 hours in advance to remind you of your appointment, giving you the option of canceling if needed. Of course, I didn't get a reminder AGAIN. Luckily, I had the appointment in my calendar and went as scheduled. read more

My visit with Dr.Frankel left me feeling judged and embarrassed for seeking help for stomach issues I had been experiencing for almost a year. It was the worst experience I've ever had at a doctor's appointment. After taking prescribed medications to address severe GERD, I was looking to get some advise from a doctor so I could eventually get off medications that have unwanted side effects if taken long term. Instead of seeing a doctor that cared about me getting better, I got Dr.Frankel who told me all of my suffering and discomfort was all in my head. Instead of helping me, he told me to go on antidepressants while leading me out the door. I felt so bad that all of my suffering had been dismissed so easily and he didn't hear me at all. Unfortunately, he didn't care about me as a human being with feelings and a person that was looking for guidance on a problem that he's supposed to be a specialist on. Please do yourself a favor and find a different doctor that actually cares about his patients. I hope Dr.Frankel becomes a more caring doctor for future patients. read more

Having my HPN insurance card in my hands, I was denied by the doctor's, Desha A. Frankel, office the medical care because I had refused to provide my Social Security Number, which I am not obliged to do so by the law of Nevada. Nowadays, most health insurers don't use SSN to identify you, so I don't see any need for that information to be collected and retained by a health care provider and I don't want it to be due to a data breach risk. ...Why do you need the SSN? How will it be used, when your Billing Department goes by Health Insurance ID# to track the patients down? From my experience, often, the people at the counter at the doctor's office have no idea why it's needed. ...Also, while being on the phone with the doctor's office, I noticed that the front desk including the manager, Nicole, is lack of interpersonal skills. read more

I met the Dr at St. Rose Hospital and after I was freed from the Hospital I set an appointment for a follow up. Once at his office, I checked in and was greeted with a stack of papers to fill out. Not only does the Doctor want to know your name and past medical history he wants your life story, what kind of underwear you wear and what kind of car you drive. I filled out basic info and left the rest blank. Which office staff was not happy about! The visit with the Doctor was good, he is down to earth and knowledgeable. We set a date for a procedure to be done. My work involves traveling so it conflicted with my procedure. My wife called to reschedule and the very "nice person" at the desk said that we would have to pay 50.00 to reschedule. I spoke to that very "nice person" today and right off she had an instant attitude and stated my wife called and canceled the appt. after an intense argument with this very "nice person" I came to a conclusion there has to be a another GI Dr in Vegas that hires better staff for his patients. I also came to a conclusion that if the DR is hurting for money and charges you because you have a life and a job then it's best to find a new Dr. The office personnel, specifically the front desk has a bit of a personality issue and can after reading other reviews give you feeling that she just hates her job. I hope this post helps out. If you don't mind giving out personal info and can tolerate his staff this place is for you. Also you have been warned if you reschedule, cancel or miss your appointment or you die you will be charged 50.00 yeah I know it's only a measly 50.00 but I work hard and I don't like lining other people pockets with my hard earned money. Avoid this gastroenterologist at all costs. I have been to him twice, and both times I had patient's remorse(if there is such a thing). I was having different problems with my stomach for quite awhile, so I made an appointment with Dr. Frankel in early September of this year. Dr. Frankel seemed to be in a hurry with little time to listen to anything I had to say, quickly answering the few questions I had and diagnosing me in a matter of minutes. I brushed it off as a bad or busy day. As my symptoms became worse, I called the office and the nurse suggested I had a few tests done, and return so the doctor could perform an endoscopy. When I arrived at 8:00, twenty minutes prior to my appointment time, I had to wait an hour before even being called back, as Dr. Frankel arrived an hour late to the office that day. I understand things happen, but when he blew through our consultation after my endoscopy, that really irked me. Him showing up an hour late cost me a quality visit to the doctor, which I had to take a day off of work to go to. I didn't need some magic cure, but I assumed I could at least receive a little time and care without being made to feel like a burden. I would GLADLY drive anywhere in the city to another GI doctor who will show some respect and value my time. As a generally easy going guy, take my word when I say a visit Dr. Frankel is a waste of time. read more

Dr. Frankel M.D. have been my doctor for over 10 years. Dr. Frankel is the best Gastroenterology I have found in Las Vegas. He very nice and concern about his patient and have always treated me with respect. On the one hand the staff are very RUDE and that put you on speaker phone every time when you call the office for anything. The staff don't take the time out to help the patients with questions. I would hate to leave my Doctor because of the staff. read more

I have had my fair share of doctors who I haven't liked in the past but this is by far the worst doctor I have ever been to, he makes all other "bad" doctors seem like the greatest. I waited an hour past my appointment to be seen which wasn't the frustrating part, but now it's the end of his day and seems annoyed I'm in his office. Since I have had issues with no answers for over 10 years which I expressed to him I had a lot of questions, he stood by door and barely 4 minutes into me being in front of him while I was still asking questions he had his hand on the door opening it. Undiagnosed and without testing he told me "if I have IBS it's just something I'll have to live with" I was still asking questions and he was walking me out after not even being with him for 5 minutes total. I understand there isn't much a doctor can do without running tests but in the midst of me asking questions I was being walked out of his office and told he can refer me to about 4 different other things to have done with not even explaining what each of them will entail or what the purpose of them is. I got more questions answered by the nurse who wrote me the referrals than "doctor" Frankel. My personal information form took longer to fill out than the time he gave me to explain my history of gastro issues to him or answer my questions I had. I felt I should have apologized for being an inconvenience for him. Not to mention the fact I paid a $30 copay for him to basically just walk me out of a room . Before he would prescribe me anything on my way out I had to ask him if he could prescribe me something and he told me there isn't much to take for IBS so prescribed me one that said probably won't get approved by my insurance, now I'm reading and there's many medications that can be prescribed so I also am now questioning his ethics and trustworthiness. read more

First they want your entire life story answered on a online web questionnaire that completely compromiseses your identity. It asked very personal questions that should only be answered for password recovery. Once and when there security is breached everyone's life is at risk for identity theft. Second, I took 15minutes out of my day to answer these questions very vaugly. Had a appointment the next day (today) at 10:45. Called to advise I was running 5 minutes late, Debra answers the phone asking if I did the online web forms. She than advises she does not have my forms nore does she see them in the system. Puts me on hold, moments later she replies with "I found one, but since we don't have the other we need to reschedule you since we ask you to arrive a hour early if you didn't fill out the forms via web". Wait a minute, you mean to tell me since you clearly lost or misplaced my forms or maybe your web based questionnaire isn't capable of keeping my VERY personal information secure and in order I need to reschedule!? So at first you clearly stated you had nothing in the system than moments later found half the paper work and I'm the one who has to be inconvenienced? Because your normal procedure if to ask patrons to arrive a hour early for a 15 minutes worth of paperwork, I have to reschedule my appointment for a whole nother day when I allready had to make arrangements for this one. Debra either your system clearly has flaws or you are just completely incapable of keeping sensitive information in order. You could has easily set aside 10 minutes for a guest to arrive and fill out the desired paperwork. Instead you have no customer service skills and don't know how to adjust for unexpected circumstance. I will find another office that will be more understanding and update my post with there information. read more

The doctor is a great doctor,on the othee hand those two girls that work his front office are rude to patients and They speak negative of patients . They are what makes a good practice look bad. They dont look to find a patients records and complain about the amount of records a patient brings in. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Frankel's for 10 years plus. And he also took care of my Mom. His office is very efficient and he has an amazing bedside manner. Mom, who had stage 4 cancer just loved him and felt very secure with him as well. I HIGHLY recommend him as I had 2 other Dr.'s that were horrible. He was a great find. You can tell he really cares about you and your condition and you're NOT just a number. read more

I made an appointment with doctor Frankel's office. I filled out the paperwork ahead of time that they had email to me. I then emailed it back to them. When I got there, they said they didn't have my paperwork. After checking, they found one piece of paper work. I then had to fill everything out all over again. That was fine, I didn't mind. When I got in to see Dr Frankel, finally, everything seemed OK. He appeared to be kind of distant but I figured I just needed to get to know him better and he needed to get comfortable with me. Going forward I was having an important test that he asked that copies be sent to him of the results. I sent copies of the results to him, or I should say had them forward it. My internist called me the day after my test with some concerns. She said she would contact Dr Frankel and she would let him know what was going on and have him call me to discuss it with me. I waited all that day into the night and into the next day I heard nothing from Dr Frankel. I waited till late that afternoon. It was approximately 3:30. I called his office and asked if he was going to call me. They said that he is off on Fridays. No one bothered to tell me that!! Consequently, with all these unanswered questions hanging over head I asked that he please call me the following Monday. On Friday she gave me some vague reference to something they thought they had found but acted as I said very vague. On Monday I called the office again to see if I was going to be hearing from him. I was asked do you have an appointment? I said no I need a phone call. They said again well do you have an appointment? I again answered I didn't want to come in I wanted to speak to him. Then I said are you telling me I need an appointment to speak to him on the phone? She said yes. I then got a little bit frustrated and explain my situation to her. She then checked her notes and said oh you're on the list to call today. It is been over 24 hours since that time. I have still not heard from him. At this point I don't know what to say. read more
