We walked into the bar downstairs. Thankfully someone asked what we needed and then they were able to get our show wristbands. We were set and headed to dinner. When we returned after 7:00, there was someone right at the door handing out wristbands. We could have skipped the early drop in. Live and learn. I liked the small venue upstairs and the different chair options. We were early enough we had our choice of seats. I thought the sound was good, but we all had trouble understanding the singing. Of course I figured it was my ears, but after the show everyone admitted they had trouble as well. This seems like a possible limitation of the sound system. That said, the music itself sounded great. The Revival Room has its own bar and two bathrooms, one each outside the doors to the side of the stage. All of this is very convenient. We didn't eat or drink, so no comments on either. I checked the calendar and there's nothing coming up I'd like to see, but I wouldn't think twice about coming here for music.

While this can be harder for the older venue-goers like myself, I found it a bit refreshing to be able to jump into the throng, fight for a spot, and lose myself a little enjoying the bands up close. It was nice to be free of the seated mega-venues for a change. Bogart's offers a couple bar spaces with all the offerings you would expect including bagged snacks. I was not amazed by the specialty drinks on my last foray, so I might stick with the typical well cocktails on my next visit. Security was pretty aggressive at the entrance, so you might want to leave the purses and bags at home. They were even flagging things like pens, which seemed like a bit much. Parking in the Short Vine area can be a little tricky. There is mostly street parking and a couple lots, but they can be a bit on the pricey side even for just a few hours.

Drinks were okay, I didn't get to try their food unfortunately since they were slammed. The only thing I didn't like was that we paid for the event, got a wristband, but there were so many ways you could have gotten in without paying anything at all. There's plenty of seating, a super cool laid-back atmosphere, and the kind of crowd that makes you feel like you picked the right place without even trying. Bonus: the UK basketball game was on, the place was packed with fans, and the Cats WON so the energy was immaculate. High fives, cheers, happy strangers everywhere. You love to see it. We had the German Pilsner and the American Light. Both were crisp, refreshing, and exactly what you want in hand while celebrating a UK win. No notes. It's one of those spots where you go for "just a quick drink" and immediately start planning your next visit. We'll definitely be back to try food from Lucy's and hopefully catch a show next time.
