I mentioned the Westmalle Dubbel didn't taste like itself-- normally there's plenty detectable sweetness, caramel, toffee notes but that it tasted bitter and with lots of cinnamon. He said that was the way it was supposed to be to his co-worker that brought this to his attention. His co-worker tags off the shift so I mention it again to him. He said it was hooked to the correct keg, so perhaps the keg was "bad, and Beer is Beer." Well thanks, Nick, for the enlightenment: Beer is beer. They're all the same. Wine is wine, too, I suppose. Nick didn't offer to exchange my 4-oz pour or make any adjustment. I received his message loud and clear: "The beer is bad and/or all the same so shut up and live with it." No other communication was made. What else was there to say? I got it. He didn't care. The tip line on the charge ticket struck me as ironic. I wanted to send the a ticket back across the bar with a charge for suffering him. Can I suggest that Nick be moved to the night shift, canned good section where generalizations he relies on hold true? Beanie weenies may be beanie weenies. More importantly, can he be sent to a place where he isn't customer-facing and does more damage to Whole Foods company? The last thing I wanted was to drink beer from a bad keg (I mean, if you know it's bad, replace it and send back to distributor?!) and to be faced with a pompous personality that doesn't take any interest in the experience of the guests. Does a company like Whole Foods do any training in customer service? I suspect they do but Nick needs a repeat. Yes, I'm in the spirit-hospitality industry. I've sold Westmalle Trappist beer in all its forms. I know what it should taste like. Something wasn't right with the keg of beer but worse is that this person didn't care. So tired of males that lord their ignorance and laziness over their domains at the expense of others and defame the whole ethos of hospitality. Other than Nick, and the awry Westmalle, the other beers were fresh and delicious. Atmosphere --beyond the attitude-- was good.

Yay for your beer selection! (Boo that you don't offer wine…read moreoptions like other WFs locations.) I really love the way I can try so many beers in a range of sizes. I'm not always up for 12 oz beer, so a quick 4 or 8 oz option is right up my alley. There are over 20 taps, too, and the bartenders have always been great about recommending a current selection based on my preferences.

You can tell they're putting some effort into the food instead of relying on the cool Ford theme to carry the place. The burgers are seriously good, cooked right and full of flavor, and the onion rings are definitely worth ordering. Everything we tried tasted fresh and well prepared. Service was just as impressive. Friendly, attentive, and on top of things without constantly hovering around the table. And then there's the atmosphere. If you're into cars, especially classic Fords, you could probably spend half the meal just looking around. The vintage cars, engines, gas station details, and garage theme are extremely well done. Even the bathrooms are part of the experience, which is a sentence I never expected to include in a restaurant review. It's just a fun place with genuinely good food and great service. Ford's Garage could easily get away with being a novelty restaurant, but the food is good enough that I'd come back even without all the automotive stuff. Definitely one of the more enjoyable restaurant experiences I've had in Lexington. We'll be back.

But the food was so good! I had been there once before, shortly after opening, and thought it was so-so. But the 2nd visit was a much better experience. Since we had a large group, we sampled each other's dishes and everything was delicious. The burrata appetizer was really good. I had the "make me something sweet" mocktail and it was pretty and tasted refreshing. Our server was top notch and explained every dish on the menu, and gave us recommendations. He really took his time with us, and you could tell he was a pro. More excited to return after this second visit than after the first! 11/26

For our appetizer, we had the beef tartare, it was also just okay. We didn't even finish half of it. The star of the dish was the rye crisp, unfortunately. For our entree we had the baked rigatoni and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin dish was delicious and so was the rigatoni. That was a plus. It was extremely loud in the restaurant. Be prepared to yell at your table partner. Between the amount of people talking loudly (I assume to attempt to talk over the loud music) and the music, and being seated really near other people, having a conversation was difficult. So don't go with anyone who is hard of hearing with background noise (my husband lol). Food took a little longer than what I'd prefer to come out. The restaurant itself had a great vibe and decorations were cute.

By the time I left at 6:30 it was packed with a wait of ~10 people. I sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and friendly. The menu seems very diverse with a lot of delicious sounding options. The beer menu is on the back with a QR code. As it was Burger Week, I went with their Signature Burger for $7 with a side of tots. The burger was a Spicy Pimento Burger with bacon jam, pickles, and lettuce. The burger was 4oz which was a great size to fill you up but not make you overly full. The burger was not overly seasoned and didn't have a ton of flavor, however the combination of toppings really enhanced the flavor and made it delicious. The tots were perfectly crisp and the Cajun seasoning really enhanced them nicely. All 4 of the beers in the flight were tasty but not overly powerful. Of the 4, the Tart and Tempered was the best as a light sour. I would recommend a visit and look forward to trying some other menu items.
