They have sanitizer when you enter, keep social distances, and have plastic barriers between the cashier and the customers at the check out. They have quality foods and prepared foods. There is a deli; for sandwiches and cold cuts. It's a little more expensive than a major supermarket chain; that's to be expected. But, they have a real butcher and selections you rarely find in a chain market. The staff can answer questions. read more

A generous four stars. 3 1/2 is more how I felt. I hadn't shopped at Frankies for a while and was looking forward to a "fresh "free range turkey. I was less than $150 away from my free turkey at ShopRite but really wanted to buy local and upgrade my turkey. FRANKIES has had a very strong reputation as a fantastic butcher for decades, and when I lived in Fishkill I'd frequented the shop. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the turkey which was prepackaged with "6% retained liquids". Basically, I could've bought a better one at the supermarket with a pre-order. At $2.19 per pound, my 18 pound turkey was about $40. I also pre-ordered bread. The parking lot was jam packed Wednesday, Thanksgiving eve. That's what earned them the extra half star. It was nice to have a local shop to get provisions from. I picked up four containers of brussels sprouts, four large yams, a large rutabaga, the turkey at $40, and was supposed to pick up reserved bread: two seeded Bastones and six club rolls. There was a sale on Tutoroso canned tomatoes. At $.99 I bought a case. Very good value. Why the loss of stars? Simple. The turkey was prepackaged, not what I expected at all from a butcher. It was "natural "not organic. And my bread order was short two club rolls so I had to opt in for Kaiser rolls which was not my plan. It seems nitpicky, but when you make a reservation and are given a reservation number, you expect your order to be prepared correctly. My bill was over $100 which is very steep considering the turkey was not really fresh from the farm. Overall, the shop is very clean and I would shop there again for specialty butcher cuts of meat, but not for my turkey again in the future. TIP: It is very difficult to make a left turn out of their parking lot so patience is needed. Advice: by your provisions at FRANKIES but pick up your bread just adjacent at Mario's where they make it fresh every day. That's what I did. Went to Mario's and purchased additional loaves of real Italian bread. read more

I am very disappointed in Frankie's I shop there all the time and lately every time I come in for something that you would expect to be out in the case its not. They tell me they haven't gotten to it yet . This doesn't help a person when they're leaving for work and they can't stop back . Most recently I've come in 2 days in a row right before Thanksgiving looking for the sliced individual pieces of pie. Both days I have asked for pumpkin pie and they said they didn't have any sliced yet and today they told me they couldn't slice any even though there were several on the counter because the person who slices the pies wasn't in yet . Is there only one person in the store that knows how to use a knife? This is unacceptable when you're a good customer who comes in every week and you're trying not to disappoint people for a holiday. Never going back. I was one of a few people in the store. Ordered shish kabobs at $8-10 each that consisted of 3 chunks of meat, green peppers, onions. I don't like that you really can't see what you're ordering, pre made, and you get what they give you. I looked around and everything was more expensive than grocery store but you pay for the service and quality, right? No one says so much as hello or even smiled. The woman by the bread and cash register was showing me no kindness either. Get your bread at Mario's. Friendly and superior and take a ride to Adams. Well worth it. if I could give zero stars I would . This is the worst freaking place I've ever been to. Christine was extremely rude and did not care to help us. She's rather carry on talking to one of the male workers . The bread was stale and hard and the mayonnaise was smeared on the outside .... so disgusting to eat . The worst part of all of it was one sandwich had hair in it. When I returned into the store to nicely ask for a new sandwich, I was simply ignore and left due to frustration. Ordered an Italian combo on a wrap. After getting the sandwich I looked at the wrap and saw only 2 slices ham cappy, 2 slices salami and 1 slice of provolone. I asked for pepperoni to be added and was charged $1 for an extra 3 slices of pepperoni. There's actually more lettuce on my wrap than meat. Really disappointed because I normally get good sandwiches. This sandwich was meant for a 3 year old. read more

This is a follow up to my 2/4/21 review of Frankie's Superette as I've had more time to think about what transpired and how the ugliness that occurred might have been avoided. If you look on Frankie's website you will see no directions for obtaining an order from the outside window. None. So, like an Ice cream stand I assumed that you simply approach the window and someone would be there to help. Nope. Not so with Frankies. No one was there to acknowledge my presence. Now consider this. I am standing outside. My husband is in the car a few feet from the customer service window with the engine running. The traffic on route 82 is just yards away, and I'm expected to hear a women I can't see giving me directions from inside the Superette with a face mask on. Seems ridiculous doesn't it? Obviously, there was some sort of employee snafu going on inside that deli long before I arrived and the built up anger was thrust upon me the moment I arrived to pick up my order. And, once inside, away from the noise of the car engine and the traffic Rt 82, instead of receiving an apology I was chastised further for not hearing the muffled directions from an angry employee screaming at me through a face mask from inside the Superette. The more I think about how absolutely unnecessary this all was the more outrageous it feels. As I mentioned in the original review I'm 77 years old. If I was younger I'd consider starting a deli, provide a friendly, respectful service and give Frankie's some real competition. The only reason Frankie's is still in business is because its the only deli in town. read more

Have had a few good experiences here buying marinated steaks and antipasto however I bought a 3 foot wedge for Father's Day and have to say it was thoroughly disappointing. Chicken cutlet mozzarella and roasted red pepper; you think it would be amazing from this spot. Instead it was dry and way skimpy. Not turning my back on the place but put a major damper on their reputation for me. read more

This is my favorite market in the Hudson Valley. There is always fresh produce and a friendly staff that awaits you. The deli and meat section can't be beat and Anthony and his family do a great job in making sure every order called in is done right.
