Also their sandwiches are very good but very small. $16.95 got me a pulled pork but it was served on a Martin's Potato Roll, which while tasty is tiny. They're not even using the "Martin's BIG Potato Rolls" just the small regular ones. The sandwiches come with chips for free or fries for an upcharge -- But the chips are homemade and frankly way better than the fries! That said again it was good but for the price the sandwiches should be much bigger. They were dog friendly and very nice which we loved. We will be back soon! read more

Very welcoming service here and patient as well explaining the menu or cuts on display. Always a rare treat to see a stand alone butcher shop, in this day and age. The steak sandwich was yummy, thinly sliced cuts beef, gooey cheese and well seasoned. The sandwich would been better on roll or crusty bread over a hamburger bun though. House-made potato chips were my favorite, well seasoned and cooked just to crispy, other places tend to burn chips but here just right. The filet taco, was very small, mostly a just two bites. It's meat filling was alright, tiny diced but filled the space. The taco sauce though was fire, very savory and well seasoned, almost wish the meat was cooked on the sauce rather than salt and pepper it. Have to come back and buy some of the raw stuff for home, since a very wide selection of cuts is here I can't get at supermarket for sure read more

A stronger recommendation is impossible, thus burger joint within a butcher shop has the highest inverse ratio of pretension to payoff. In the most utterly humble confines sits the most flavorful large portions of meat one could hope for and this is before you become acquainted with the actual freshness of the product. As great a burger as the east coast could dream of producing you will be astounded at the shrug of concern for such a lofty status from the hardworking staff so accustomed to excellence as to be bored by any variation in their routine. Nice neighborhood butcher shop. Purchased an assortment of sausages including: 1. Spicy Italian- excellent sausage 2. Hotdog- wow! The most unique and best hotdog I've ever had 3. Pear sausage- a good sausage 4. Bratwurst- worst bratwurst I've had. Dry, has anise notes, just not good. For perspective, I've traveled all over Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, Poland and other countries that produce sausage. I've eaten bratwurst at the oldest brat stand in Vienna. I know sausage, and simply put Barb missed the mark on her bratwurst. So overall good, but the bratwurst was a disappointment. read more

This afternoon Barb's Butchery gave me what I've been missing about a neighborhood butcher and NYC quality foodie satisfaction, in one delicious swoop. First, it is the cleanest looking and smelling butcher shop that you might ever find. There are a few tables and chairs out front of the counter in the shop and the sweet ambiance of the place compelled us to get the food to stay. I said to the friendly bearded fellow at the counter, "ribeye jerky; A bit of a flex, no?" He smiled and handed me a taste and wow; it was as tender as jerky can be while still being jerky. Positively delicious. My sandwich was a perfect burger with a tender draping of brisket deliciousness that all hugged a piece of the yummiest bacon I may have ever had in my life. Bravo to Barb and her crew and the culinary experience that you'll enjoy. Every bite was a taste of a memory of my youth and a testament to unbridled carnivorous lust. My family decided to try this Barb's Butchery. This place has excellent pastrami and egg breakfast sandwiches. The pastrami is fantastic! Very friendly staff... came here initially to pick up a breakfast order (the food was outstanding by the way) for my girlfriend and was impressed by the quality of the meat. I was really looking forward to an opportunity to come back and buy some meat for meals during the week and I was really pleased with the quality of everything. Incredible!!! We stopped in and got 3 different sandwiches -- Birria Sandwich (my favorite) extremely tender full-flavored meat on a potato bun. SO GOOD!!!! we also got the corned beef sandwich, which I totally recommend as well, and lastly the short-rib with slaw. All three were absolutely delicious, you can tell they use quality ingredients l, the meats are local farm raised. It was Friday afternoon and I had called every butcher shop in Orange County looking for a tomahawk ribeye to enjoy with my wife Saturday night, everyone needed a weeks notice, but when I called barbs , they said how many and how thick, I said 1, and 4 inches thick, done! I must admit while I do love barbs the prices for the sandwiches can be quite high. I'm not sure if it's increased lately but paying almost 20$ for a small martins potato roll sandwich and some fries is a bit disappointing. I could see paying 15-16 for the combo with tax but almost 20 just doesn't seem right! I know rent is high and meat prices are rising but something has to give! read more

BEST BURGER IVER EVER HAD! The place super clean, you can see right in the back where " all the magic happens ". Barb is super nice, quick and personable. I haven't had much from here meat wise beside the hotdogs ( which were amazing ) but the hot food is unreal. Worth a little pit stop if your in town! ordered the kids cheese fries and hotdog from barbs butcher at the beacon food hall and it is delicious. The serving is generous. The cheese is melted and tastes like a blend. The hotdog is cut up on the fries. These are my favorite cheese fries. I definitely recommend barbs. read more

We moved to Beacon over a year ago and we started to discover some great food around town, for instance the burgers at Dogwood and Quinn's hotdogs. The common source turned out to be Barb's Butchery. About once a week I now go directly to the well for ground beef, dogs, specialty sausages (mergez!), chicken and more. All produce is high quality, store prepared, fresh and locally sourced. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than frozen long distance mystery meat from the grocery store, but man, you do taste the difference. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Always willing to provide preparation advise or do some custom butchering (like cutting up a chicken perfectly). Barb also has prepared food for lunch but, though I have heard some good things about that, I have not had the chance to try that myself. Barb's Butchery opening hours allow people with day jobs to shop after work. I am so happy I discovered this gem of a place a few blocks from Main Street. read more
