I came here twice with friends. It is a great park to visit in the fall. It's less than 1 hour drive from NYC. I think the fee was $10 per car. There are plenty of autumn leaves showing off their bright hues. Some trails are paved, others are marked foot paths in the woods. They are not intense at all. Even this city gal did well! We walked a trail around the large lake. It wasn't too long. We were in and out within 2 hours. I saw some baskets, and my friend's husband that they're for frisbee golf. There are also barbecue areas, and we found a fireplace. :-) The water wasn't running the bathroom, so I recommend you bring hand sanitizer.

It's nice and very open land, only downfall is the littering:( you could also rent out like a paddle boat and walk a trail around the lake

I've also gotten to enjoy the playground as a kid with my parents and younger cousins and enjoying the view of the pond. I loved spending the day at the pool the other day. The weather was great, and I even got the chance to enjoy the snack bar, even though I got Taki dust in my eye. That hurt. The pool has always been a peaceful place, and I was even asked if I would like to try out for the local swim team a while back because the swim coach just happened to be there on the same day. Going to this park has always been one of the best highlights of Bedford Hills for me.

We love your (meticulously maintained) basketball court. We love your sweet little pondside location. We love that you're located right near the Metro North railway so we can watch trains go by and wave. Son #1 is in heaven when that happens. We love that we can all run around in the grass and not have to worry about stepping in geese poopie. Seriously -- high fives on that one. In short, we love you so, Bedford Park. You've got everything in one sweet little kiddie oasis. You make my little men shriek with delight...and who am I kidding..me too! :o)

I love that there's lots of green space to sit and relax and also a small playground for children. Taking the stairs up was more intense than I expected, but it's definitely worth the hike! Hiked up and across, ate the lunch we'd brought at one of the umbrella'ed tables near the playground, and then the skies opened up; drove back to Manhattan on an almost flooded Bronx River Parkway. Grandson back for a visit this year, wanted to go back! Zipcar got more expensive, so I followed the directions on their website using public transportation. DON'T! The website says take Metronorth to White Plains and then a Bee-line bus, #6, to the Dam Plaza. We found the bus stop, and the schedule said 11:43. Perfect, right? Not. 12:43 came and went. Other buses came and went. The #6 never showed up, so finally we took a taxi for $20.00. Took 10 minutes to get there. Better to take a train to Valhalla and walk the less than a mile or Uber for 8.95 or something like that. Watch the schedule for going back to Grand Central, because in the afternoon it seems to run just once an hour. Plan accordingly. Otherwise we had a good time.

It was hosted by a Bangladeshi group who actually come every year for their annual picnic. And they keep coming back to the same place years after years . Which gives you all an idea how pretty, peaceful this place is. And I might add that it is very highly maintained, I appreciate all the hard work by the employees! I did got mad with people for being messy in the restrooms ! And also wish there are multiple restrooms around the area. Because I have seen people stand in line just to use it. There is enough space for it. I have also seen people were jet skewing & looked so much fun. Some of the ladies were saying there is an area where you can actually go to the water , I am looking forward to that next year ! If you live in queens , it's a place you definitely gotta visit . It took us only an hour by bus, so for a family gathering it's perfect. Kids were having so much fun.
