Definitely my favorite farmers market in Tennessee! There are so many fantastic vendors here, you simply can't walk away buying nothing. Johnson Honey Farm is my absolute favorite honey, get the wildflower, you'll thank me later. I can't remember his name but the sweetest Italian man selling fresh pasta has a lemon ricotta ravioli that'll blow your mind. Vegetables galore, everything you could ever want. Today I got 3 giant bok choy for $3. Parking isn't fun, so I would recommend getting there early, or come with lots of patience and grace. Good variety of food trucks. Jay's has been a staple here for years and so good. The California truck is so fresh and delicious. Live music. People watching. It has everything. read more

The Franklin Farmers Market is one of those places I love to go every Saturday. I can grab something to eat from one of the food trucks or go inside for a coffee and donut. I grab my local produce for the week and sometimes I'm lucky enough to get some fresh eggs. There's a lady there that sells goat cheese, which is amazing! Suggestion: Go LATER! I unusually race the crowd to arrive early, fight the crowds to grab booth freebies, and part the sea of people to walk around. Today, I went about 11:15 and it was much sparser in comparison. I was able to walk freely without my elbows brushing everyone I pass. And for reference, no pets at this farmers market! One of the largest Farmers Markets I've been to! I have only been a few times in the past, but haven't been in about a year!! We had family in town and decided to stop by on Saturday to check out the local vendors! So many new vendors since the last time I came! There is literally a vendor for everything!! -- Meats, veggies, homemade canned goods, honey, jewelry, clothing, art, home goods, FOOD TRUCKS, and so much more! I ended up leaving with some of my favorites from Kirkland Farms, Bae's Butters, and a few others. Yumm!! We grabbed some fresh donuts from the donut stand and freshly squeezed limeade from a different stand and enjoyed our day! Love that this is outside of the Factory in Franklin! When it got too hot, we headed into the Factory and enjoyed the AC!! Wish I could make it every week!! read more

TL;DR: Great experience, highly recommend. Bring a cooler to put frozen goodies in! One of the best farmers markets I've been to. Huge area with lots of vendors outside and tons of shops inside the building. Great selection to choose from and there were a good number of food trucks and inside dining options. It rained during my visit so I had to cut it shorter than I wanted, but would for sure come back again. Only recommendation is to bring a large cooler as there were a lot of frozen items. The vendors we bought from gave us some ice packs and an insulated bag, so we made due but would have preferred a larger cooler to buy more things. read more

Franklin Farmer's Market is a real gem of a market. The produce is all from nearby farms, unlike other nearby farmer's markets where much of the produce has PLU stickers from as far as Mexico and the West Coast. There are bee keepers, local meats, bakers, a local dairy, a handful of local crafts, and even local musicians. If you're an long-time local, you'll recognize a few old farms' names. Some of my favorites are Kirkview Farms, Delvin Farms, Pocahontas Farms, Hatcher Family Dairy, Triple L Ranch, Geraldine's Greatest Pies... I could go on and on. Most of the farms take credit cards but a few are cash only. There are also tents with food vendors. The creperie didn't make it back this year but the donuts are still there. Prices are now generally parity with the markets around town. The quality, convenience, and live music are just icing on the cake. Tip: On busy days, the parking lot can get crowded. Most people park on the Liberty Pike (southeast) side. Enter the Factory at Franklin from Franklin Road via the small access road that passes north of the Factory. There is usually a small sign by the entrance. You'll have a much easier time getting in and out from this back entrance. read more

Yesterday, the wife and I decided that we'd make dinner using only things we found at the farmers market! We found some amazing vegetables, grits, pimento cheese, and shrimp! This farmer's market has become my beloved Saturday morning routine. I also always use this as an excuse to treat myself to coffee at Honest Coffee Roasters (inside The Factory) and a donut at Ellie's (their truck is parked by all the vendors). For reference I've been to the Nashville market as well, and still prefer Franklin's due to more produce and farmer varieties. Their website even states the Franklin Farmer's Market "has the largest assembly of Tennessee farmers in the state of Tennessee." While I come here with vague ideas of what I want to buy and usually find it, I also allow myself to be inspired in the moment because produce selection can vary from week to week. My favorite finds and go-to's of summer have been tomatoes (the market has over 30 varieties), basil, large heads of lettuce, and watermelon to name a few. For you Peach Truck fans out there, while they don't have a booth in the market, they have one on Franklin Rd, across from Harlinsdale Farm. I recommend checking the market's website for the wealth of information they have, which includes the list of vendors so you know what things you can expect to buy (your dairy, meat, seafood, baked goods, produce is a guarantee) but there may be other eclectic goods you might want to grab! read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit to the Franklin Farmers market today. Rookie mistake to go on a Saturday at 11am as we had to wait a bit for a parking spot. We spent about a half hour checking out all of the booths- great produce and veggies. Most of the booths were food related (a few with local soaps, etc), everything looked very fresh. They also have 4 food trucks set up serving food and a place to sit outside with tables and umbrellas. No dogs allowed, it's a new rule they have. Who knew Franklin had hippies? The whole time I walked around this open air market, I half-marveled that I was in Franklin and, you know, saw old hippies. Drive down to The Factory on a Saturday morning and beyond a collection cool stores and interesting architecture, you'll find one of the best farmer's markets in the region. You'll know you're in the right place when you happen upon plentiful parking, spy condos across the street (condos... in Franklin???) and a travel hop, skip & a jump away from 31. Park and sidle up to fancy soaps (I started a very unhealthy addiction to artisan soaps here; there will be no more Dial for my skin), honey, dairy, local produce (as in, from the area, not Mexico), brownies, smores, flowers, jams, and other fanciful items that effortlessly combine the world of hippies and yuppies. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood and the atmosphere of community engagement was palpable. Kids ran around. Musicians played. People shopped. I ate. All was as it should be. I asked retailers about what they sold and where there farms where and if they allowed regular folk to walk around and pick/buy things. I don't know why that was such a satisfying moment but it was. I suppose it's because it made me realize that this was/is a true collaboration of city and country. The onus wasn't on trend setting. This was a market meant for feeding, etc. the local folks who couldn't/didn't venture to parts unknown for secondary supplies. It seemed authentic. That's the word; authentic. Cash is king but plastic is better than no sale. It's, definitely, worth the drive from Nashville. Start your weekend on a fun note. I spent the most wonderful morning at the Franklin Farmers' Market today. I found out about it from a farm mailing list I'm on. I think I had heard about it before, but I had forgotten, perhaps because I live nearer to two very viable farmers' markets. I didn't expect to find anything better or different in Franklin, but I was happily surprised to enjoy many things about it. Firstly, the setting is perfect - it's in the parking lot of The Factory, so not only can you look around the market in the morning, you can stop and shop, have lunch inside, or go to the dog adoption days at Happy Tales. Secondly, the quality and variety of foods available amazed me. I remember going to the Nashville Farmers' Market a few years ago looking for free-range meats and reaching a dead end, but there are several meat vendors here, with several different kinds of meats, including Beefalo, which I've never tried, but I have to admit, I'm curious, and lamb, chicken, pork, and steak. Some of the farms even make their own sausages - breakfast, bratworst, dogs, Italian hot and mild, chicken - you name it. It was as easier and more enjoyable for me to do a whole shopping trip here today than it would have been to go to the grocery store, not to mention cheaper too. There were tons of vegetables and fruits available, and all of them looked delicious and not too perfect, not suspiciously symmetrical and evenly sized, or glistening with a fake, waxy rosiness. I went to the grocery store to buy fruit and/or vegetables the other day and came out without both because the selection looked and smelled so unappetizing - actually it didn't smell at all. That's not something you can complain about here - everything smells delicious. You won't find everything here - I didn't see any corn, but I'm guessing that's because it's gone out of season, but eggplants were definitely in, as were apples, squash, and tomatoes. I have to admit, that as a mostly city-reared girl, I am ashamed to say I don't know really when most vegetables come in and out of season, but shopping at the farmers' market could possibly teach me that and bring me back down to Earth. Love, love, love this farmer's market! We were super impressed with the variety of deliciousness available here. From baked goods to meats to dairy to fun crafts, this place is the best. The food trucks also allow an opportunity for immediate consumption. Today we got fresh pasta and meat sauce for later, kettle corn for munching, blueberry muffins (a favorite of mine), fresh lemonade and food truck crepes. And that was after careful consideration of what to buy LOL! Can't wait to go back and try more next week. The donut line was long indicating they are probably amazing and the chips and salsa were calling my name as well. Great job Franklin, this market is a fun, family event! read more

This is the best farmer's market in the Nashville area. Although it is quite a drive, there is such a good variety of products and produce from so many different sellers. So much fresh veggies, fruit, and meat here! I especially love the stand that sells fresh herbs, roots, and plants (fresh turmeric!). What a treat to see such rare items in Nashville! Wow! I finally had a chance to check this out! It was awesome! The market had so many different types of vendors. Everything from Hatcher Family Dairy to bee keepers selling honey and other bee products. The variety of stuff to choose from was almost overwhelming because everyone has such good looking stuff and there is so many people to choose from! Vegetables, fruit, coffee, dairy products, soap products, organic everything! The list goes on! You name it; they have it. The market is so diverse in so many wonderful ways. You can get your hand made soap in the same area as you get a elk antler for your dog to chew on... Yes, elk antler! I had a chance to try pure bee pollen. I had no idea you could eat it. I found out that bee pollen is very good for your body in so many good ways. This place is a great place to learn all kinds of new stuff about things you never knew about. As well as a place to buy wonderful products sold by wonderful local people. I highly recommend this market to anyone and everyone! read more

My family and I enjoy coming to this farmers market. Our favorites so far are Aces Kettlecorn popcorn with the BEST kettlecorn of life (the owners are super friendly too!) the apple donut from the donut truck is hands down the best donut I've ever had, the cute goat soap stand, the chess pie stand, the list goes on and on. As everyone else has Yelped, this is just a wonderful farmers market - the best one I've ever visited. Friendly vendors, great selection, lots of truly local produce, fresh baked goods, arts and crafts, plus live bluegrass music. I haven't tried all the goodies yet, but I can say that the yellow peach tomatoes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_Peach_Tomato) are delicious. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the farmer from whom I bought these. Have to take a notepad or look more closely next time. I'm not a huge fan of cheese (my wife has a revulsion to pretty much all cheeses and has turned me against the stuff), but I made an exception for the exceptionally creamy, soft and delicious garlic and herb goat cheese from Noble Springs Dairy (http://www.noble-springs.com/). Out of this world! Don't miss it! As others have mentioned, this market is special in that it is open all year long, although I believe it has shorter Saturday-only hours during the wintertime. Hands down the best farmers market I have ever been to! But, be warned, this place is packed on Saturday mornings. I went yesterday morning with my girlfriend and some friends, and we were all impressed with the huge selection of produce, meats, cheeses, and breads. All of the vendors were extremely helpful and friendly. Some of them even had samples. Who turns down a sample of cheese? Did I mention that there was a band playing and a food truck? What else could you ask for? I would say that whole trip down to Franklin was a huge success and I'll for sure be back. read more

They also have wonderful vendors selling everything from jewelry, cutting boards, candles, pottery to funny signs. My favorites are most definitely Lucy's Kitchen: for her hot breakfast sandwiches, muffins, cheesecakes, limeade!!, sweet tea, coffee and her newest addition (tah-dah) delicious incredible soups! Then there is Hatcher Family Dairy, Devlin Farms, Ellie's Donuts, many delicious cheeses and I don't know his name, but I love the wine bottles with the candles in them... There is too much to mention...just get there and enjoy the morning, walk, eat, drink, buy some fresh stuff, enjoy the live music and bring some family or friends!! read more

We recently moved to Franklin from East Nashville, and I just never thought that the Franklin Farmer's Market would live up to the East Nashville Farmer's Market. Boy, was I wrong! I was amazed at all the different farmers and vendors there - the selection was fabulous. All the produce looked so wonderful (local, seasonal food usually is!), and knowing that it's all coming from local farms, what's not to love? I ended up purchasing quite a bit on my first trip - beautiful organic shiitake mushrooms, green beans, eggplant, cucumber, Easter Egg radishes, eggs, baby bok choy, lacinato kale, and Japanese Black Trifele tomatoes. It was an amazingly beautiful & healthy haul! I resisted the urge to buy any Kenny's Farmhouse cheese or Noble Springs goat cheese. I didn't even buy Hatcher Dairy milk, but only because we'd just purchased a gallon from Whole Foods. There's also other cool, local, handmade stuff besides fresh food items, like jams/jellies, candles, soaps, and crafts. You can also pick up CSA shares from several farms. I can't wait to go back now that we're into the cold growing season. The hours they are open (Saturdays from 9am-12pm for Winter Market) is taking some getting used to, but so glad that it's here!! FYI - some vendors take cards, some take checks, and some take cash. Your best bet is to take cash, since some that do take cards have $10+ minimums. read more
