Their property is much deeper than I had imagined, an urban farm wedged into that little triangle formed by Highway 70 and Highway 70 South in Bellevue. Several greenhouses grow a wide array of plants! Enormous fresh strawberries sat in small baskets. Inside a small shed, fresh cuts of meat were on display in the refrigerator while numerous treats covered every shelf. I acquired some sourdough bread, sea salt caramels, and strawberries, and all were delicious!

They also had fresh produce, and I picked up very affordable heirloom tomatoes and purple bell peppers. The lady who checked us out had great recs on what to purchase, and we loved the jalapeño cheddar bread she recommended.

I calked the market this morning at approximately 10:20 I called and asked the man who answered about the receipt. His response was " I have about 3 people checking customers out and I don't know what you are talking about." I tried explaining, again, what the employee told my husband. The individual on the phone, hung up on me. Immediately, I called back and my call was not taken. Very disappointed how this was not handled. There are too many vegetable/ fruit markets that value their customers and consequently I will do business with them.

The staff are the friendliest people and another reason I'm thankful to live in Spring Hill. I moved from Arkansas to middle Tennessee 10+ years ago. Putting down roots in Spring Hill has been the best thing for my family! It's clear that this family does this for community, not to make a buck. Whenever I went, you could go in, grab a small tub and head out to the field. I made sure to meticulously look for only what was ripe and ready. Then we came back to the barn and paid for our tubs. I've been to Pantall Farm on a couple of occasions. The first time was fun, as we dealt with Mr…read more Pantall. He seems to be a very nice man. His wife, however, is a good ways away from him on the friendliness factor. Let me preface this by saying, I am aware that the strawberry farm is their personal property, and it is how they make their living. I understand their need to protect their farm and their investment. I also feel quite sure that they must have dealt with, on more than one occasion, unruly children who are not watched or corrected by their parents when they don't respect the Pantall's property while picking berries. However- On our last visit to Pantall's Farm Mrs. Pantall was keeping shop. It seems she is the face of the farm lately. Before my friend and I even got all the way from our car to the building with our kids, Mrs. Pantall was nearly berating us about watching our children and almost angrily telling us that we would be asked to leave if we didn't follow the rules. Our kids are not perfect, but they know how to be well behaved and respectful of others. And you better believe that when they are not, especially when it infringes on someone else, we are on top of it in a heartbeat. Not to mention that we had BARELY set foot on their property when she began to rant (not speak- rant!) at us. Our children were guilty of no rule breaking. It's one thing to reinforce knowledge of your picking policies, but it's another to act nearly hostile to your customers when they arrive. I've never felt less welcome. Needless to say, we have found another strawberry patch locally that we are more than happy to give our business to.

The service is always friendly and helpful, the coffee is really good, and they have a juice bar inside as well. The decor is cute, with a good number of tables inside and a handful of tables outside. Everything is made to order, so at times there can be a little bit of a delay. But the food is absolutely worth the wait, and it is a very pleasant place to hang out at. Once we discovered Oh My Chives we've been trying to stop by every weekend. Delicious! Of course some produce like bananas come from a distance but much is from our neck of the woods. Mike Baudinot's store is conveniently near the I-40 Old Hickory exit, so for West Nashy neighbors Bellview Produce is easy to visit. You will know the owner when you see him since Baudinot is a down-home big teddybear of a man. The mouthful of juicy goodness when I bit into one of his red ripe Jetsetter tomatoes was blissful. I love the fresh okra and also like the Tennessee maple syrup, raw honey, cane sorghum and preserves here. Sometimes the bottles of Mrs. Renfro's Salsa sell out, but when her spicy product is in stock it's a good buy for garnish or dipping. In closing I must say that blackberries in Bellevue are best at Baudinot's Bellview Produce.
