Its really unfortunate because so many people depend on FPHC for their care. There ARE some really outstanding providers and staff there. (Everyone in OBGYN, also Ms.Wanda, Ms.Joy and a few others) its a shame that they are so few and far between. They also have some really good programs there. (Well Woman, Access to Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy, etc) Unfortunately (again) you have to navigate through the nightmare that is the phone/appointment line and the god awful front of house staff to find out about any of those good things. I'd like to recognize one employee in particular, Ms. UnPleasant & Rude (aka Ms.Pleasant) who, if one is so unfortunate to encounter, I'm afraid they might lose out on some really great benefits that she goes out of her way to prevent access to. Gatekeeping like its her personal belongings, while being incredibly condescending and giving a stench of superiority that is unlike anything I've encountered. I sincerely hope she retires or...something... very soon, so that the damage she does is at a minimum. All in all, until they acknowledge these issues, clean house and/ or retrain, you'll do well to avoid this place. Best of luck! read more

I tried calling and finally got through on the phone after being put on hold countless times and the call would disconnect. I tried to remedy that by asking not to be put on hold and I asked politely but I had to speak fast so it wouldn't happen and I needed to get a word in edgewise. Well the woman I asked not to be put on hold to blew my hair back and was horrible. I am astounded that she has a job at all. I can't believe a doctor would want anyone to talk to their patients or anyone that calls to like that. I would flat out fire anyone like that if it was my employee. By the way I was calling for a 75 year patient who couldn't get through for hours on his landline and I am his caregiver so I used my cellphone and spent a couple of hours to get through myself. I actually go to the Hadley Center to see Dr. Lawrence and I was in there on Monday 4-4-2022 and my medication wasn't sent in like they told me it would be.. So I called and left a message to see if they would get a message to the nurse or Dr. Lawrence and no one called. So I waited a couple of days still didn't hear from no one so I went up there and the lady said she would get it in for me because I need it and I also let them know I was leaving to go out of town because of family emergency and I still haven't heard anything. Just when I get use to one provider they put another one in. I have been going to this clinic for over 9 months to the same provider. Melissa Tatum is one of the best nurse practitioners I've ever seen. She is caring and listens to what I have to say. Now she is gone and won't be coming back. Worse staff ever. seen the doctor on Monday. The doctor said I needed back ex-rays and physical therapy. And she would tell the nurse I wanted providence for the ex-rays and the physical theory. I asked for a referral to providence hospital. The nurse said she would call when she set up the appointment. I had to call Wednesday because she didn't call me.They gave me a appointment for M.L.K Franklin clinic office. I called back and reminded them I wanted to go to providence. Each time I called they made me talk to the downtown office.And each time they tried to force me to use Franklin clinic for the ex-rays even though my insurance covered providence.Clearly more concerned about getting my money and not concerned about whats convenient for me. You cant get a number for the university location. They made me go back to Franklin clinic on Thursday to get the order-paperwork for providence hospital. I went to providence Friday morning and after sitting there most the day. ,I Gave them the paperwork and providence could not give me the ex-rays because the paperwork from Franklin was not signed by the doctor, something the Franklin staff clearly wasn't trained or educated enough to know!!! Providence sat there for several hours trying to get some one on the phone to fax them A sighed copy and once again the clinic tried to get me to the M.L.K location. So a week later and still no ex-rays or physical therapy. they are incompetent even the nurses at providence said they are a joke. Don't put your life at risk going there.Don't put your life at risk.
