The young man who made the appointment was great...the receptionist when we arrived was great..the nurse was fabulous...the Doctor we saw was awesome...she was very friendly and professional and my son really liked her.(I am sorry I don't remember anyone's names). They got us a referral for surgery the same day. I cannot thank everyone enough at Loxley Family Medical Center.

I have always loved and praised children's medical group but today they have lost my confidence…read more Telling me they can't refer my child to orthopedic with a broken ankle because insurance wouldn't cover it if they didn't diagnose it. As the primary care Dr they are the only ones who can put the referral in. I disagreed with this statement and it finally came out it's because it was diagnosed in urgent care and they "don't trust urgent cares". How can you not trust other Doctors and radiologists and want me to use up resources in the emergency room Instead? Then to tell me tricare won't pay for it if they do? I know that my child had broken a bone before and we went to urgent care and then called our primary in GA and they put a referral in immediately. Instead wanting me to come in for another appointment with them to go to another facility to get an X-ray (because they don't have X-ray services) then get a referral. I refused as that would bill my insurance twice for the same thing and cause delays in care for my child with a broken bone. The pediatrician put the referral in (reluctantly), But they coded it as routine for ankle swelling and pain. Not as urgent and that there is a fracture. Then called me the next day while I was talking to the insurance company about 30 min after they submitted the referral to let me know it wasn't approved yet. (Pettiness has no place in a pediatric office)

They took the batch of typical X-rays and the next thing the dentist came in and suggested the removal of a tooth next to a dental implant. This is the first dentist I know that has ever suggested not saving a tooth. I contacted my old dentist from another state who took a look at my X-rays they had on file from just a couple months ago and he didn't see the logic. Furthermore, he advised that removing a tooth next to an implant actually causes more harm than good. Added to the insult, the dentist suggested the complete replacement of a perfectly good crown on the implant...a procedure which is NOT covered by insurance vs a "repair" which is covered. I guess some dentists see a couple of implants and think they can get more $$. I have had a lot of dental work done due to an accident so I know probably more about dentists than I care to admit. So, my best advice is to shop around...not all dentists are created equal. Even though dental insurance is pretty crappy, most dentists understand and work with insurance companies. Save your money and shop around and don't ever go to a dentist that suggest replacing perfectly good dental work just to get an extra dollar.

By my third visit, everyone knew and remembered my name, how many kids I have, and that my dad was running for the city council. Dr. Lyssy is very professional and explains everything he is doing before he does it so there are no surprises. Dr. Lyssy and his staff are accomodating to whatever the patient needs to leave his office feeling more refreshed than when they came. I called this office simply to ask questions about new patient paperwork. During the call, I was…read moretold I had an appointment already scheduled, even though I never set one up and was never notified of any appointment. I was told the week prior I would have someone reach out to me, which they never did, hence my call. When I asked when or how this appointment was made, the receptionist was dismissive, unhelpful, and rude rather than clarifying the situation. This interaction was very off-putting and unprofessional, and it made me decide not to move forward with this practice. Not a good voice or representation to have for first impressions especially in healthcare. The receptions clearly does not care, isn't friendly, and both times calling she seems extremely annoyed by the fact that there's someone calling. Ridiculous

They also had essential oils in my room making me relaxed and believe me lavendar oil does that..

Always on time, never asking off, filling in on short notice, And are always quick to answer their phones. And with personal care they know what they are doing! They are very good at making sure skin stays healthy. They are very good at wound care , Catheterization, transferring, and more. They have very pleasant personalities too. We had hoped they would be our caregivers for ever but we have to move and will miss them terribly.
