The entire staff was so kind, friendly, and extremely easy to work with. I had never had a root canal before so I was very anxious but Dr. Kerbl made it the easiest experience and I had no pain! They answered all of the questions I had an made me feel comfortable. Dr. Kerbl also provided me with his phone number so if I were to experience any symptoms after the fact I could reach out to him directly. I can't remember what it was called (it was back…read morein October of 2024) but they had to go in via the front of the gum to clean the root of an eye tooth I had already had a root-canal on. Most places put you "under" to do this and charge $$$ accordingly. Doctor Kerbil did it with local anesthesia. It wasn't a picnic, by no means, but why other dentists knock people out to do this is beyond me, except for possibly the money. He explained things very well and kept me and my wife posted on the process as it went on. Recovery was non-eventful, pain was there but was managed well, though I was surprised at the low amount of it. If I ever need something done like this again I'll definitely drive the 100+ miles to let Doctor Kerbil and his staff handle it for me. Nobody likes dentists, but I'll have to give them a 5-Star rating!!! They rock!!! (said the almost 70-year-old guy...LOL!!!)

He made a crown and instead of sending me to…read morean orthodontist for a lower misalignment issue he wanted the $$'s for himself, instead of thinking or asking what outcome I wanted to see. When he put the crown I had to ask him to smooth and re-check the bite burned and during the smoothing process, he burned my gums. Worst of all I had a crack in a front tooth I wanted it to be restored to its original form. Instead, he simply filed the whole side of my tooth off and said it looked like it was never there, and ran out of the room. I had seen him twice since moving to Baldwin County and each time was a bad experience.

However, my experience with Dr. Kurt was the complete opposite. During my appointment, I felt rushed, handled roughly, and at times dismissed when I showed discomfort. There were moments where I was yelled at in a way that felt unprofessional and upsetting, and physical interactions during the procedure felt more forceful than expected. At one point, my hand was pushed away while I was trying to communicate discomfort, which made the situation feel even more distressing. I left the appointment feeling extremely shaken, and the experience stayed with me for days afterward. Dental visits can already be stressful, especially for patients with anxiety, and this interaction made that significantly worse. I want to be clear that this review reflects my personal experience. While the office itself has a friendly staff, I would strongly encourage anyone who is nervous about dental visits to ask questions about who will be treating them beforehand.
