The rooms are especially helpful on the rather busy days when the library isn't always so quiet. The children's area is great! There's always crafts to do and mini scavenger hunts that get changed about twice a month. Also seasonal reading challenges that get kids excited to read and win prizes. They also have legos, a train set, and a play grocery store. It's definitely worth a visit for any ages!

I've been a regular library user and usually have positive experiences, but I was very disappointed…read morewith how I was treated regarding a STEM kit. When I borrowed the kit, all the parts were there. One set of attached blocks included a slightly off-color red piece, but the kit worked fine and I assumed that's just how it came. I supervised my children while they played and returned everything intact. Later, the library called accusing me of replacing one of the blocks with my own and told me I had to pay $34.99 for a "missing" piece. This was upsetting, since I take good care of everything I borrow and even notify the library if I ever notice something is missing. Instead of being heard, I was made to feel like I was stealing. This experience makes me worry about checking out kits or specialty items in the future. I hope the library improves how it documents the condition of items before lending them, so patrons aren't unfairly charged for problems they didn't cause.

The space itself is very open, well organized and staffed with very helpful people. The kids area is a great place to take kids/grandkids for some activity on a cold day. Storytime is at 10:00, which fills up pretty quick. Easily accessible bins of books, a wooden train set table, large kitchen station with all the accessories, puzzles, magnetic tiles and more give little fingers plenty to do. Spending a couple hours here during a drab winter day is always time well spent.

My first impression was how brightly, airy, and open it is! So much light pours in, as compared to the old location which was quite dark and confined. Having two kids, libraries are always a go-to and this one now tops the list. They have an entire kids section wrapped with rows and rows of books, a little play-stage and dress up clothes, magnetic tiles, a play kitchen, and a few small computers with educational games. There's also a whole enclosed youth room which I assume will host various events and activities-- I'll have to look into that. Oh and you can check-out Tonies here too, which is wonderful. I love how overall inviting the space is. My kids really enjoyed our first visit! Oh and there is more than enough space and books for adults too. Never got to share my experience from the other day. I actually saw that this is a popular…read morephotographer spot since the architecture is a selling point of this place itself. I got to get some pictures, tie up some loose ends with a very helpful librarian, went on a little side quest to the the second floor in the business room where I found a few amazing books that were showcased. I love that they showcase books as looking through the isles is a little daunting. Using the online portals to sign out books for book check out is an amazing tool. Book drop off drive through is great, don't even have to get out of the car. Parking is by meter conveniently all around block. Lighthouse is so neat! The children's area librarians are incredibly sweet and knowledgeable, you see a lot of the same staff here which is also telling of an environment I feel. Inner city so it sometimes it attracts loitering, but overall it's well kept.

What makes it not just good but actually great? It's a beautiful and unique space, an old building but very renovated. And you know the MPL workers are Tik Tok stars. I think that's great.

There's a big room on the left side and a big white board that lists out the various event there's. Lots of things related to learning, with teachers, and for those who need assistance with citizenship, etc. I hope they keep the events up and people take advantage of it! It would be fun to have a Yelp event at a library just to shake things up and get outside the box, wouldn't it? I always forget about libraries for books instead of Amazon or even for renting movies. It's a free resources that so many of us neglect! Education is is an important priority and second to schools are libraries! I hope people remember they exist and to go to them!

The bad--many people who use this library seem to have forgotten library etiquette. They carry on, talk loud, their children play loudly and are disruptive. Even more surprising is one of the employees of the library talks so loud you can here her conversations no matter where you sit! Very distracting.
