Since it was after business hours, I received an email from General Manager Kyle Sherfesee, who claimed they are a family-owned dealership with 74 years in the automotive business, offering transparent pricing with no games. His message gave me confidence, and I responded that it would be a pleasure to do business with them. The next morning, the inventory manager called me to confirm the vehicle was available (though still in transit) and said the MSRP was $69,192. I was asked to submit a credit application. When I requested a full out-the-door price, they added a $5,995 "market adjustment", claiming that only seven dealers had that specific model. I immediately rejected the deal and forwarded the original email from the general manager, which clearly stated they didn't engage in such practices. His reply shocked me: because I was located in Miami, they had to charge me the $5,995 markup -- and that was their best offer. They lied in their emails, added an unjustified surcharge, and discriminated against me for not being a local buyer. This is unacceptable, unethical behavior. Toyota USA should investigate dealerships like Franklin Toyota, because customer service and honesty should be a top priority. Toyota already profits from each vehicle sold -- the dealership doesn't need to scam customers with abusive markups. I never received a clear explanation of the work being performed--only a text with an amount due. Despite being told I would receive a call, that call never came, leaving me no choice but to pay for services I did not fully understand. Just five days later, on Tuesday, September 9th, my car would not start. I had to rely on a friend to jump it. When reviewing the paperwork from my September 4th visit, it clearly indicated that the battery was "good." Yet the very next day, September 10th, when I brought the vehicle back, I was told by your staff that the issue was my battery. When I questioned how this was possible, I was told it may have been my fault for leaving a light on, or that "it happens." I was also told the car "should have been" checked properly during my earlier service--an answer that is both dismissive and unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I asked if any consideration such as a discount or coupon could be applied, I was flatly told "no" without any effort at customer care. As a customer who has trusted Toyota for over 16 years, I expected much better. Instead, I was left with the impression that my concerns were not taken seriously and that my loyalty and business were not valued. This experience has not only shaken my confidence in Franklin Toyota's service department, but it has also made me reconsider where I will take my vehicle in the future. Went in for a simple oil change and tire rotation and it took them over 2.5 hours to do that. Every time I'd ask them if it was ready they would tell me 15 or 20 more minutes. When I finally got my truck back it had greasy smudge marks on the doors and on the inside. It had just been detailed 2 days before. Costumer service was poor and at any given moment, a majority of the employees were scrolling or playing in their phones. Worst dealership service I have had anywhere. read more

I brought my four runner in and paid for $945 service plus new tires (replaced exact same tires as before$1200). Now instead of 16.9 mpg she gets between 12.9 and 14.1. So i brought her back in and they did $589 in service. I asked why is it sucking gas like this and was told the technician said its the tires. No, because it had the exact same name brand and tread before and it was getting 16.9 mpg. But I am more baffled by the total lack of concern and professionalism. I have done business here for many years but this experience makes me want to not buy another toyota although i have had seven of them over the years but this is just so frustrating. We took our Toyota Tacoma truck in because the tire we had just recently had Franklin Toyota Service Department put on had a defect in the sidewall causing it to lose air. We asked if it was still under manufacturers warranty. They stated yes, it was and replaced it and only charged for mounting and balance. We picked up and paid on a Friday. On Monday they called and stated that the manufacturer will not cover the tire and that we owe almost $300. I said, "No, don't think so!" You can't come back after the transaction is closed after we paid in full and then state that we owe more money. They should have contacted the manufacturer and made absolute sure it would be covered under the warranty prior to replacing the tire, closing the transaction and allowing us to leave the property. This was their lack of follow through and their screw up and then they try to place it on us! I would expect this kind of workmanship from a shady tire place but not from a Toyota dealership! I get my routine oil changes the only opportunity is the level of customer service from the lady at the front counter; like shes aggravated to be there. Short snippy responses......... Ive come at different times of the day and its the same issue. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt like eveyone has a bad day from time to time but this is on more than one occasion. I sit and listen to how she interacts with certain people just to make sure im not missing something but man....wish there was another toyota delarship in Statesboro so that I have another option. I make an appointment it takes 2hrs or more...I try to come in and drop off...attitude...try to catch them later in the day....told to make an appointment...attitude. I recently went in to have my oil changed and for some reason it took 4 hours with a appointment. Drop my vehicle off at 10:20 (appointment was at 11:20) and at 10:32 they sent me confirmation via text that they have my vehicle and it's currently waiting to be worked on and then another one stated that a repair order has been added. No more messages after that and I could not follow the progress on their app after that. I was asked if I was gonna stay with my car and I told them no. I left my number just in case they completed the service before I returned. I returned sometime before noon but did not go inside. I was waiting for them to call me. When 1:30 rolled around and still no phone call I went inside to see what was going on. All the service tech could say was it will be coming in a minute. Well it was another hour before I got a text at 2:25 stating my vehicle was completed. Then on the service progress app it stated at 2:25 that the work has started on my vehicle and right behind that one it stated it was completed. Finally about 10 minutes later my car was brought around and the service tech Kirsten Smith calls my name with paperwork. I asked why did it take so long for a simple oil change. She said sometimes the techs will not work on your vehicle right then if you don't stay with your car. First of all, how does the tech know you didn't stay with your vehicle unless you tell them. Secondly, why make an appointment if this the case. I can just walk in and request what service I want performed if I'm going to stay with the vehicle if appointments are not being honor. I have been getting my car service there since I purchased it in June 2021 and I have never received service like this before. And the service tech Kirsten didn't make it no better. I didn't get no I'm sorry it took so long nothing in way that she valued me as a customer. I will have to think long and hard if I will bring it back for the next service. Also, I was also charged for a tire rotation that I did not ask for. I only want a oil change. Once again Kirsten tried to flip it as if I came in and asked for my vehicle to be serviced and that means tire rotation. I told her when I came and talked with the young man that I left my keys with I stated my appointment was at 11:20 for a oil change and nothing else. She refunded my card for that service but once again no thank you for choosing Statesboro Toyota and come again. :( Oh, I did texted the salesman that sold me my car and told him the situation he did state he was sorry that it took that long but in the end I got it done. Set up an appointment, got there a little early and was told they were behind by 2 hours, girl at the first desk was very short, and obviously does not know her business or customer service. We explained an issue that just needed a sensor replaced and she argued with me there was no such sensor when I know there is, I have even seen the part number but I did not write it down, she said she had to charge me $119 to diagnosis when I already knew what the problem was, and when I found someone else to do it for 1/3 the price and I cancelled the appointment, she was rude and went and got my vehicle and she put it back in the service line, and grunted when I said thank you!! Worst customer service ever and this was the 3rd time, never again, do not use these people unless you want to be looked down on and treated like crap. read more

Buyers beware. Trying to buy from out of state and the dealer was about to get the exact spec car I wanted. Called them up and asked if the car was available, they said that they would check and call back. Heard nothing for a day so I called back and got in touch with Richard. He told me the car was allocated and soon to be in transit and all I had to do to reserve it was to leave a deposit. Not only was it the perfect spec but at MSRP too, I left my deposit and asked him to keep me updated. 2 weeks go by and I call back asking if there is an eta on the cars arrival and he told me there was no news, I explained to him that I would have to fly down to pick up the car so I'd need a weeks notice to get the ticket and have the time set aside from work. He assured me that he would call with any updates. 4 weeks since the deposit was made and he had yet to call me to update me or even say hey still no word, I reach out 3 times in the same day and he is busy with other customers. Coincidentally that day I get a call from a dealer in my state saying he has the car I want at MSRP, not in the exact spec I want, but a car nonetheless. I wait until the next day to give Richard time to call me back. Surprise he didn't, I then try going about getting my deposit back. I proceed to call Richard and one of his associates answers and I explain the situation, he brushes me off and states that Richard is busy and he is the only one who can help me. I wait a few hours and call his direct line again, different associate answers and this time I ask to speak to the sales manager. Can you guess what came next.... He was busy, I was assured that I would get a call back. I waited a few days, but was seeing a pattern. It's been months and have yet to hear back from Richard or his superior. I went to get a new key after locking my key in the trunk; they were so nice to me and very helpful! I didn't catch the name of the lady that took my payment, but she was awesome and Spencer was amazing too. I was honestly having a terrible day, but they lightened my mood and got me a spare key for my car. I also briefly spoke to the Toyota care department and they were very nice too. They couldn't help with my mistake due to the layout of my car, but they transferred me to the Parts people and they got me situated. Even the people I didn't actually need to speak to were very friendly and greeted me as I walked by. It was all very helpful and nice having everyone be so welcoming and nonjudgemental because, let's be honest, my mistake was pretty stupid. I contacted the dealership on Monday. Spoke again on Wednesday. Set up an appointment for Saturday at 4:30pm. I got text messages and calls from Wednesday to Friday evening confirming my appointment. I arrived the early for my appointment, around noon. I was told the car was sold and could they show me something else. I drove an hour, wasting my Saturday. They contacted me so frequently leading up to Saturday yet they couldn't contact me to say the car was sold?????? Then I got an email today saying thank you for your visit!!! I must say, I absolutely LOVE my new 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. In fact, every day I find more reasons to become attached to my new car. The moment my middle son and I showed up to look at this car, which had just been brought over from another dealership, I knew this was the car for me. It was barely used, with extremely low mileage. It was still covered by the three Jeep warranties. It was not either a stripped-down model of the Cherokee, nor a fully-dressed up version either. I was impressed and pleased with the service and attention I have been received from Statesboro's Franklin Toyota and Chevrolet dealership from the moment I set foot on their lot. My salesman, Dean, came out to greet us, and listened carefully to what I wanted to do. He didn't try to "upsell me." If he had, I would have simply walked away. He listened to my comments attentively. He did not try to bluff me when he didn't know the answer to one of my questions, he simply found someone at the dealership who did know. The owner, Lehman Franklin came out and introduced himself. I felt as if I were the most important person in the building, not a feeling I've experienced at any of the other dealerships ive dealt with. When it came to my trade-in, they searched out a car wholesaler who wanted my car, and were thus able to give me a more than fair trade-in price. I found there were two things I felt should be included with the car before I bought it. They agreed to provide them as I requested, and did just that. They worked me on the financing, and have continued to do so. They've contacted me several times to let me know that one of the things I had requested had arrived. Bottom line: I recommend Franklin Chevrolet-Toyota absolutely and without any reservation. I will urge any and all of my friends whom I learn are interested in purchasing another car, be it new or used, to first go to Franklin Chevrolet-Toyota. After they sold me the car, rather than send me the fedex envelope so I could send the dealer tags back, which I called and requested since I lived several hours away, they instead decided to report the tags stolen which led to my husband being arrested when he was driving my car. THEY COULD HAVE JUST CALLED ME AND SENT ME A FEDEX ENVELOPE LIKE I ASKED but instead they chose to set one of their customers up to be arrested. Don't even get me started about the fact that they have to be audited by the government for 10 years because they let their consumer's private SENSITIVE information get leaked to a file sharing platform. I have always found them to be very fair on the price, quick on finishing the deal and helpful on understanding the new features on the vehicle. My salesman of choice is André Weathers, but my interaction with other sales people has always been pleasant. Service department is top notch. I enjoy taking my vehicles in for service. Hugh has a great team working the service desks. The service drivers who take me to work and pick me up are always nice and courteous. I think when you bring your vehicle in for service they should do a inspection of fluids and top off any that are low also safety components. When I came for my appointment I made sure the appointment was for an oil change but, after sitting there waiting for an hour and a half, they didn't change my oil. I wasn't at my miles but I'm about 3 weeks shy of a year, so I'm due. I'm going on a road trip and I wanted to go ahead and get it taken care of. If they thought I didn't need the service I requested someone should have spoken to me about it, not just decided to not do what I requested. After about two weeks of haggling we agreed on a price but the truck had to be sent from a dealership near Macon. The truck arrived two days late and with 300 more miles than I was told at the time of purchase. 45 minutes after driving out of the lot, I noticed the rear backup camera was not working. Took it back and was told the parts had to be ordered. Once they arrived I dropped it off one morning around 10:30am. The dealership took me back to my office since it was going to take about two hours. At 4:50pm I still had not heard from them so I gave them a call. Turns out not all the parts arrived so nothing had been fixed and they had not called me. Now I'm in my office trying to find a way home. Franklin Toyota got the warranty reinstated and fixed my radio. It took awhile but they fixed everything. The only thing they need to work on is returning phone calls to customers. read more

Recently, just days after my second AC blower went out of warranty, it quit working again. The blower in my air-conditioning system appears to be a defective product. But the service personnel, especially Donnie, are certainly not defective. I was pretty angry and upset that I would have to shell out another $200 for this air conditioner blower. Donnie patiently explained that the blower part only had a one year warranty and that this warranty had expired. He indicated there was really nothing he could do. I hung the phone up extremely agitated about an extra $200 on my service bill. A few minutes later, I got a call from Donnie. He told me that he had met with the Service Manager and that they were going to cover the cost of the AC blower. The service personnel at Franklin always come through for me. I had an awesome experience working with Brandon "Jersey" Cohen and James Breda. Brandon was very friendly as soon as we met and was very professional, quick and thorough with my paperwork. He saw that my mother and I were on a time scheduled and he worked with it and didn't waste time handling the business as needed. I needed to be in Brooklet before 6 to finish securing my loan. By the time I returned to the dealership Brandon had to leave due to other obligations, but he left James there to see the purchase through to completion. James greeted me at the door and kept me company until I was able to complete my paperwork and walked to me to my new vehicle.
