First photo before she was groomed

All they did was bathe her and fluff her and leave her in a kennel for six hours. She is a five month cava poo puppy. This was her first groom and she was traumatized from this experience. The manager refuses to respond to my emails or text. That is probably why they make you pay before the service because if I would've saw this, I would not have paid for the service. This is an abuse to an animal. I feel horrible for taking her to that terrible place.

    Aspen fresh and clean

My little fur baby was so clean and looked so handsome also had his teeth brushed and his mouth smelled so clean thank you so much we will for sure be back in the next 6 weeks

That's how much hair I combed out of her in a couple of minutes! And this is after professional cleaning

It was a terrible experience! Don't take your pets there if you don't want them to be stressed. First of all, there are very rude people working there. Secondly, I paid for a full package of services to have my cat combed, bathed, claws trimmed and teeth brushed. When I left my cat, they told me to arrive in 2 hours, I arrived 2 hours later across the city, but they told me to wait another 1 hour! After 3.5 hours of waiting, I got my cat wet and it was obvious that she hadn't been combed! I asked the staff why it wasn't combed, even though I paid for it, but they replied that I could buy a comb and comb it myself. Lol, what? Why did I pay you $77? Besides, the dogs are barking very loudly and the cats are stressed.

That's a really dirty dog's ear, after Franko's Dog Grooming "groomed" him.

I took both my dogs to Franko's Dog Grooming. One is male, one female. Tuesday was the worst time yet. They charged me for services they did not provide and half-heartedly, partially did some. Franko's has you pay in full at drop-off, which saves time at pick-up but puts you in a bind if they don't deliver. I was really looking forward to having a good place to take my dogs for grooming. Unfortunately, Franko's is not the place. I was unable to reach them on Wednesday. But connected Thursday and was told to bring the male back and they would "re-bathe" him. We all have crap days so I was willing to work with the situation. I also had a $40 tip ready for the groomer. He had not been bathed at all! Absolutely without question. My female dog, I'm just not sure because I keep my dogs clean, so, she may have just still been clean OR maybe they bathed her and not him. We'll presume she was. Both dogs' nails were not trimmed, the bottoms of their feet were haphazardly clipped, their ears were not cleaned AT ALL. My female dog came back with mats she didn't arrive with. In the two days between Tues and Thurs a huge "blister" by her ear formed from where something went awry during the Tuesday grooming. On Thursday I brought the dogs back to have the unbathed dog bathed. The owner, Rosie, agreed to "re-bathe" only one dog, clean both their ears, clip nails and clean up their pads. (It was clear that she knew the one hadn't been bathed to begin with. But I was willing to let it go if she made it right.) I thought we were on the right track. They took the female back, held her there for about 15 mins while I waited. Instead of properly cleaning her ears, they squirted solution in one ear, didn't wipe it out and left it. They did not finish grooming her feet. At that point I gave up. The male was left to be groomed. When I picked him up he was actually bathed, which reinforced that he hadn't been the first time. In response to informing the owner of the unbathed dog, and the other concerns, the owner told me since I'm not satisfied, I should just find another groomer. The male ended up being groomed on the second visit. Both the owner and a staff member accused me of leaving my dogs at the grooming facility for two hours before picking them up, which was an out right lie. I have an insurance app that shows a map and is time stamped when and where I go. All of our phones show incoming and outgoing call times and duration. They called once, and I arrived to pick up my dogs within exactly 30 mins. Typically groomers will call 15-30 mins before your dog is finished so no one is waiting on either end. When I showed the staff the time stamps, she erupted with a poor ability to tell time in a transparent attempt at gaslighting.

My regular groomer moved so I tried this place out August 26th. Terrible cut for someone I was told had 20 years experience. Had to pre-pay and tip for a place I've never been. The cut was uneven as you'll see in the pics, didn't pay attention to the notes I left about how I wanted him cut, and butchered his tail. Didn't bathe him even though we paid for it. If they did, they missed the dirt between his paws and around his eyes & belly. Had to give another bath at home. I was offered to bring him back in to fix or a discount on the next cut. As if I would actually go back there. I asked for a refund and was told the owner would call me back. I've called 3 times since then & she's always unavailable. The customer service is as bad as the haircut. Update, as of September 13th, I have yet to hear back from the owner (Rosie) and was told by the person I talked to today that I would not receive a refund. If they stand behind a haircut this bad, just beware.

Another great grooming for Barkley and Lily!

Took Barkley and Lily in for their quarterly haircuts and was very pleased again! I have a special groomer I always request for them and they always seem happy when I pick them up. I haven't had any of the issues I've seen pictured on Yelp, thank God. I doubt I would be back if I did. Their pickup room has changed since I started coming here, so I like to make sure I come at the quoted pickup time to lessen the length of time they have to sit in the kennel room, as it can get pretty loud with all the dogs barking. The prices here are very reasonable and the owners are accommodating. I would definitely recommend.

Worst place ever. This so called grooming cost me a 400 dollar vet visit immediately after they called me to tell me he was bleeding "from a scab" that was brushed off. The vet shaved the remainder of his leg and exposed the 1.5 inch laceration that was caused by this business that claims zero responsibility. This is not ok. I highly discourage taking any animal that you love there. Zero Rating!!!

You can clearly see they cut it down.

Did a great job of removing the mats on my cat. So much of a change his sister did not recognize him when he got home.

Things…read moretend to turn out looking off and we end up having to fix things on our own to the best of our ability- but not here! They have groomed our 2 coton de tulears many times at this point and every time they come out looking great! No weird long looking poodle ears like the people who like to keep the hair on the ears long, we think they end up looking silly when groomers do that. We told them we prefer shorter ears before their first groom and they have always done it without having to be asked ever since! No weird random chunks of longer hair like when groomers don't take the time to make sure everything is around the same length. A HUGE thing for us is neither have come back from Rustic Mutt with razor burn! I can't tell you how many groomers have ended up at bare minimum giving our little guy razor burn even when we warn them he is prone to it. I've even had to pay for urgent vet appointments they've gotten razor burn from other groomers so bad but never here. Our poor boy used to come home from grooming, appointments, totally miserable and would run from carpet to carpeted area and sit down to try to not feel that irritation on his skin. It was awful and no matter how many times I tried to make sure they were careful , it would always result in razor burn. When we moved here I really wasn't looking forward to finding a groomer again because it's hard to find one I trust because of this. Rustic Mutt put me at ease and the people have been very nice. I always appreciate the option to text them as well as I'm not great at keeping up with the phone sometimes. We went through a really stressful, prolonged time in our lives recently and when we were away almost all the time and when we were local it was busy. I was diagnosed with a very painful disease that has no cure, several surgeries, several rounds of IVF, I could go on. This resulted in my husband and my dogs needing to travel all the time, living in hotels for months while getting care and treatment and some of the surgeries. Since it was such a frenetic time we weren't able to get them in for a regularly timed groom and with all the walking and no access to regular bathing for them they ended up quite matted and dirty by the time we were able to get them in for an appointment. I really did try to brush them and keep up as best I could but at a certain point with them not shedding and their hair getting so long I'm ashamed to say I let it get away from me. They went to such great lengths to cut their hair and not give them razor burn, not shave them all the way down, and they left some of the matts on the counter to show us what they had cut off and how bad the matting had gotten. Contrary to what people might assume I was appreciated of the gentle visual chiding, it shows me they care for the animals. There are only 2 reasons I can't give them the 5th star and it is this: 1) as far as I'm aware they still choose to go off of verbal confirmation that an animal has been receiving their vaccinations & such. Almost every other groomer I've ever worked with (and I've had dogs all my life) required confirmation from an animal's veterinarian that they are up to date and while it's a pain in the butt to constantly keep that updated it also makes me feel safer knowing all the other animals they will be around in the establishment are up to date as well. Verbal confirmation is great but unfortunately I'm sure it's easy for some people to lie. I had a problem once when my dogs were around dogs that weren't up to date and it resulted in one of my dogs being hospitalized, a very heart wrenching experience and expensive mistake that could've been avoided. Just to be clear this didn't happen at Rustic Mutt but a previous place, I'm just explaining why the worry had relevance to me. 2) you generally have to schedule pretty far in advance in my experience to get in generally, especially in the summer, which I understand but unfortunately there are times where you really just need to get your dog in and can't wait several months. I wish that they would/were able to hire more people, even just for bathing services so during the times I can't bathe them regularly it would be great if I could rely on them for that.

All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! We are so happy and very proud of our dog's progress and have so much to thank Taylor for. Folks send their dogs to board and train programs for many reasons. For us, we wanted support honing previously learned skills, learning recall, and curbing a few unwanted behaviors such as excitedly lunging and jumping at people, fence fighting, and barking. We were nervous about so many things. What would we do without our boy for three weeks? Would his sweet and playful personality be the same when he returned? Could we stick to it and reinforce his learning at the end of it all? The three weeks away were tough. But we timed it with a family vacation which helped a lot. As for the dog we picked up at the end; Ozzie is the exact same amazingly sweet and playful dog. But he is so much more confident, calm, and responsive. He honestly seems like a much happier dog. Almost like he feels and shares the pride we have in him. And with the tools and confidence it has given us, we can now give him the fulfilling life he deserves. THANK YOU, TAYLOR! We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
