The first time we took our Aussie in for a grooming, the lady did an exceptional job - just as we requested. This last time around, not so much. The britches didn't get trimmed and that's a pretty huge sanitation issue, along with the tail. I recently had my Himalayan cat in for grooming. Super calm, gentle - never and issue. ​​No matting, no fleas - super easy groom. They sent her home with unbrushed, WET fur. I called to complain and they offered to "fix" it, but I didn't want to traumatize her more. Fast forward a couple of mo ths and I took my little, very gentle, very well-behaved, 7yo Yorkie who has been groomed all her life in for a summer shape up and body shave. I swear they didn't do anything but bathe her body, didn't bother to trim her face, mouth and ears and left her underbelly jagged. I called to complain and was told she was bad and wouldn't let the groomer near her - she "did the best she could". I asked to speak with the owner and was given her cell phone number. I left 3 messages over the course of the next few days and still have not received a return call. I will NEVER go there again under the new ownership and highly suggest you not take your furr-babies there as well. ​ read more

The training of cats . We were charged 167 dollars not i clouding a decent tip with our cat who was supposed to have a lion cut he was only timed half way up his back and it looks botched. Tried tp call back but of course they won't answer. I want them to either make it look right or refund at least some of our money. Be accountable instead of ignoring your customers. All they did was bathe her and fluff her and leave her in a kennel for six hours. She is a five month cava poo puppy. This was her first groom and she was traumatized from this experience. The manager refuses to respond to my emails or text. That is probably why they make you pay before the service because if I would've saw this, I would not have paid for the service. It was a terrible experience! Don't take your pets there if you don't want them to be stressed. First of all, there are very rude people working there. Secondly, I paid for a full package of services to have my cat combed, bathed, claws trimmed and teeth brushed. When I left my cat, they told me to arrive in 2 hours, I arrived 2 hours later across the city, but they told me to wait another 1 hour! After 3.5 hours of waiting, I got my cat wet and it was obvious that she hadn't been combed! I asked the staff why it wasn't combed, even though I paid for it, but they replied that I could buy a comb and comb it myself. Lol, what? Why did I pay you $77? I took both my dogs to Franko's Dog Grooming. One is male, one female. Tuesday was the worst time yet. They charged me for services they did not provide and half-heartedly, partially did some. Franko's has you pay in full at drop-off, which saves time at pick-up but puts you in a bind if they don't deliver. I was really looking forward to having a good place to take my dogs for grooming. Unfortunately, Franko's is not the place. I was unable to reach them on Wednesday. But connected Thursday and was told to bring the male back and they would "re-bathe" him. We all have crap days so I was willing to work with the situation. I also had a $40 tip ready for the groomer. He had not been bathed at all! Absolutely without question. My female dog, I'm just not sure because I keep my dogs clean, so, she may have just still been clean OR maybe they bathed her and not him. We'll presume she was. Both dogs' nails were not trimmed, the bottoms of their feet were haphazardly clipped, their ears were not cleaned AT ALL. My female dog came back with mats she didn't arrive with. In the two days between Tues and Thurs a huge "blister" by her ear formed from where something went awry during the Tuesday grooming. On Thursday I brought the dogs back to have the unbathed dog bathed. The owner, Rosie, agreed to "re-bathe" only one dog, clean both their ears, clip nails and clean up their pads. (It was clear that she knew the one hadn't been bathed to begin with. But I was willing to let it go if she made it right.) I thought we were on the right track. They took the female back, held her there for about 15 mins while I waited. Instead of properly cleaning her ears, they squirted solution in one ear, didn't wipe it out and left it. They did not finish grooming her feet. At that point I gave up. The male was left to be groomed. When I picked him up he was actually bathed, which reinforced that he hadn't been the first time. In response to informing the owner of the unbathed dog, and the other concerns, the owner told me since I'm not satisfied, I should just find another groomer. The male ended up being groomed on the second visit. Both the owner and a staff member accused me of leaving my dogs at the grooming facility for two hours before picking them up, which was an out right lie. I have an insurance app that shows a map and is time stamped when and where I go. All of our phones show incoming and outgoing call times and duration. They called once, and I arrived to pick up my dogs within exactly 30 mins. Typically groomers will call 15-30 mins before your dog is finished so no one is waiting on either end. When I showed the staff the time stamps, she erupted with a poor ability to tell time in a transparent attempt at gaslighting. read more

My regular groomer moved so I tried this place out August 26th. Terrible cut for someone I was told had 20 years experience. Had to pre-pay and tip for a place I've never been. The cut was uneven as you'll see in the pics, didn't pay attention to the notes I left about how I wanted him cut, and butchered his tail. Didn't bathe him even though we paid for it. If they did, they missed the dirt between his paws and around his eyes & belly. Had to give another bath at home. I was offered to bring him back in to fix or a discount on the next cut. As if I would actually go back there. I asked for a refund and was told the owner would call me back. I've called 3 times since then & she's always unavailable. The customer service is as bad as the haircut. Update, as of September 13th, I have yet to hear back from the owner (Rosie) and was told by the person I talked to today that I would not receive a refund. First I just want to say the people I have met there were very friendly and nice. I took my golden doodle in for a full service bath and trim. 4 hours later I was informed that my girl was unruly, which I can understand.. she has a lot of energy. Next I was told she had become aggressive when they tried to trim her nails. My doodle doesn't have an aggressive bone in her, so this seemed suspicious. After getting her home and excepting the terrible trim or should I say shave they had done to her,I noticed that they had nicked her heel joint on the back legs.. not one but both. Unfortunately, Frankos is not what it used to be. We have brought our dogs here for over 25 years. In the last few years, their service has declined, and their prices have gone up wayyy too much for the normal cost of living expectations. My last and final straw, I brought 2 dog's in for bath and cuts. This includes bath/cut/nails/anal glands/ears. Nails were not done at all on the front paws of one dog, nor the glands, and both dog's were not cut the way I asked and the face of the other dog untouched!!! $119 before tip. This included an additional fee of $7 for multiple dogs... what??? When questioned, I was told this was for the taxes (you can't charge tax in the state of WA for "services" I asked for a call from Rosie the owner and instead got a call from a very rude unknown name girl. PLEASE READ I cannot stress enough how horrible this place is as well as the professionalism of the assistant manager and grooming manager. The "senior" groomer completely botched my golden retriever. She was told not to shave him and she compketely shaved his underside. His ears look like a 5yo took the scissors to him, and whe shaved half his tail. The managers would not offer a refund since the haircut had already taken place (not aure where the logic is there). PLEASE DONT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY. Groomers name was Kelly. Avoid at all costs. They also tripled their prices so $100 wasted. Horrible people and business. read more

Took Barkley and Lily in for their quarterly haircuts and was very pleased again! I have a special groomer I always request for them and they always seem happy when I pick them up. I haven't had any of the issues I've seen pictured on Yelp, thank God. I doubt I would be back if I did. Their pickup room has changed since I started coming here, so I like to make sure I come at the quoted pickup time to lessen the length of time they have to sit in the kennel room, as it can get pretty loud with all the dogs barking. The prices here are very reasonable and the owners are accommodating. I would definitely recommend. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all, they had horrible communication when it came to explaining things. I bring them in for cat grooming (my 2 cats) at 11:30 AM. I get a phone call at 1:30 saying my "CATS" are done. So I assumed they are both done. So i come all the way there, just to find out one cat is only done. My second cat is there til 4 pm for 4 hours basically without food or water. Third of all, it is a very loud environment where most cats will be scared because dogs are barking nonstop. What made me want to do a review? Maybe the fact that a "cat groomer" cut my cats whiskers. As every cat owner reading this knows, you are NOT suppose to touch those let alone trim or cut them. The groomer did not ask for my permission let alone tell me they would do this and it made me furious. You are not supposed to do that as it is a very important part of cats senses. I come home, notice my second cat got his whiskers also cut. And the entire carrier was filled with hair that they did not bother to clean. They either don't have groomers that actually know what they are doing or these groomers were not aware. Well, you are not suppose to do that. I will never come here again. Frankos used to be a great groomer but in the past few years have been slipping. Now they are just a hot mess! I deceided to give then another try yesterday and they did an absolute amateurish hack job. And they dont seem to care - just defensive and arrogant. I'm now spending today trying to find another groomer who will take my poor pup quickly and try to make some sense of this cut. I shoudol have known better based on other recent experiences but I'l done with them. And would recommend that you do the same. read more

My pit bull came home scratching the hell out of her ears to the point of blood dripping and constantly violently shaking her head. A few days later we took her to Colombia river vet hospital. She had 2 ear infections, damage to her inner ears and 2 nails clipped way past the quick. The infection from her ears infected her rear right paw because of the nails being cut way to short. Now $800.00 dollars later she is on her way to healing. And both her and our Frenchie still had a sweaty dog smell on top of their skin being very dry and flaky. We've taken our dog here a handful of times. he is a wheaten terrier. Twice now he's come home and they've shaved the base of his tail near his anus so close that his butt has been completely raw. He keeps his tail tucked for days and is in obvious discomfort. When I called to complain they suggested that he had bit at the area and it wasn't the groomers fault. They then said that I should bring him in for them to assess the situation. I explained that I didn't want to bring him back there because of what's happened now twice. On Friday, we took our dogs to be groomed at Franko's in Vancouver. We were looking forward to having them both nice and tidy for the summer. Sadly, after yesterday's situation, we will not be returning. When we spoke about how we wanted our rough collie Nessie trimmed, we gave explicit details not to cut the hair around her face whatsoever. A groomer told us that she heard us give these instructions. Upon picking up both Nessie and Darby, we were devastated to find that our words had not been heeded in the least. A manager/cashier came out to talk to us and showed no regret whatsoever. She accused us of not making our thoughts clear in the first place. One of the groomers told us that she definitely heard our instructions not to cut or trim around the face. The manager/cashier gave us an insincere "sorry" but her body language spoke otherwise. She treated us like it was our fault and to add insult to injury said, "What's done is done. I can't put the hair back." My husband asked about compensation and was met with perhaps 10% off next time--maybe. I cannot tell you what a terrible experience this has been. It will take Nessie up to six months to grow her mane back. Anyone who grooms collies should understand the significance of the lovely black that frames a collie's face. I just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, and the woman who spoke to us outside afterward needs some lessons in customer service and common courtesy. She didn't give a damn! read more

I previously gave this place a good rating when I first started taking my dog here about 3 years ago. I have been debating for months whether or not to update my review, but it needs to happen. I advise people to read the low-star reviews consistent with my one-star review. My dog is a breed known to likely get ear infections, but he had never gotten an ear infection...until I took him to Franko's. It should also be noted that my dog was TERRIFIED to go into this place, which has never happened. They did not dry his ears out well twice, resulting in a vet bill for an ear infection. The owner didn't acknowledge my $250 vet bill was because of their mistake. Instead, she just said they will make sure to put cotton balls in my dog's ears next time. It gets much worse. The next time we went in I clearly stated his ears need to be dried completely with "cotton balls." My dog came home and was shaking his head within 24 hours. When I took him outside for a walk, he stopped and lifted his paw. His paw was bleeding because part of it was shaved off. And, when I looked in his ears they were scratched and red, too. See attached photos. I called and spoke with the owner as I was sobbing because of the maltreatment my dog had experienced. The owner offered a discount for the next groom. A discount for maltreatment?? I'm never going back to this place again. read more

Run away from these dog abusers! I've been coming here for years, and they used to be wonderful. My dog has very sensitive ears, which I tell them every time, and shaving them causes a hemostasis reaction which causes his ears to bleed profusely for days, and causes our furry friend incredible discomfort. They used to be careful and scissor cut his ears to avoid this from happening, but the last few times prior to the pandemic they caused massive bleeding that took months to heal. I bought my own clippers during the pandemic and trimmed him myself, and never one drop of blood. My clippers died on my during his last trim, so I decided to give Franko's one more try. I come in today, make it EXTREMELY clear my concerns, speak directly to the groomer, and say if there's any risk to bleeding to occur to not touch his ears and I'll scissor cut them myself. I told them to err on the side of caution and to simply not touch his ears if there's any risk of bleeding. I just picked him up, and blood everywhere. Zero apologies, and only victim blaming. I asked for my tip back as I refuse to tip someone who is so negligent. They couldn't figure out how to apply a credit to my card, so I asked for cash. They said that would make their till unbalanced so they can't. Somehow that is my problem, I guess. I suggested a refund as my dog is bleeding in front of them. Nope, and instead I get excuses and blaming me for letting his hair get too matted. No one showed any empathy, no hint of an apology and I was told that I should just trim him myself from now on. Never again! Yes they are cheap but be aware!! My dogs have been groomed here several times. They don't take appointments so they are easy to get your dog a grooming. The real problem comes when they take the dog "in the back" to be groomed. My dog had a large cut on her upper thigh. The biggest problem was her nipple got cut off. It took weeks for her to heal.
