My dog seems to be traumatized after his groom. She was unfriendly to my dog and rude to me when I arrived. I can't imagine what she did to him if he had any behavioral issues while she was grooming. We had a fantastic experience with Brenda! We have been looking for a local groomer since our move to Washougal. When we called Brenda, she was responsive and even though our grooming appointment was during the middle of our 1-day snowstorm, when I called to verify we were still on, she said absolutely! My husband and I both went to meet her since it was our first time so that we could explain what we wanted for our two springer spaniels. We were very detailed with our instructions for ear, feet and overall grooming and she listened and asked great questions. Brenda dries the dogs by hand, and doesn't "kennel dry" them, which I really like. The grooming area is located in the basement area of the building and has a nice side entrance. The space is small, but well organized and while it's not fancy, it is clean and well taken care of. Now to the best part - how did our fur children look? FANTASTIC! They smell wonderful, the cut is great and she did everything just how we wanted her to. Plus, as an added bonus, when my hubby went to pick them up, they were running around with a couple of other dogs having a good 'ole time! They also came home with super cute holiday bandanas! My dog had two injuries from this woman, which I didn't duscover until we got home. No wonder he was shaking uncontrollably when she brought him out. Horrible horrible experience. Not only should she have said something when I paid her, she should have stopped immediately after the first injury and called. I know shit happens, especially with a squirmy puppy. But WTF?! I would be extremely cautious of this groomer. She is nice enough but my Dog (mini- golden doodle) came home and is not the same. I asked her if she wanted a copy of his shot records so she could verify that he is current she said no that's ok, I followed up with I have a copy in the car if you would like and got an ok that's fine so I gave them to her but any groomer home or business has always wanted to see shot records. I asked for a summer cut with a teddy bear face (I figured since she said she has groomed several doodles and does it all the time and confirmed she knew what I was asking for that all was good (I guess I should have remembered what happens when you assume) He now has a modified poodle cut his snout is completely shaved and nothing at all like a teddy bear cut. He has cuts in his skin (pits), his backside is completely bald and uneven. He slept all day when he got home and was extremely lethargic and he shakes when I grab his leash and is normally really excited to go on walks or get in the car for a ride. I feel horrible that I left him there I should have followed my gut instinct he was nervous when I dropped him off and he is normally a happy go lucky well behaved dog who has no issues being groomed. read more

Brenda is amazing....My dog lives going there...

Sadly we chose this pet groomer based on a few previous reviews. We brought Max and Charlie for standard grooming and nail clipping . she is very nice, however a few days after grooming we noticed Charlie a cute pug spaniel mix was really uncomfortable and scratching incessantly at his collar. When my husband removed his collar it was noted to be weeping and areas of excoriation. We needed to bring him to the Urgent Care as the vet had no appts. at Orchard Hills animal hospital. they were appalled at the underside of his neck which they termed "hot spot" from not being dried properly at the groomers. They said that "next time" to let the groomer know (as if a groomer should need to be told) that the animal should be dried properly. I emailed the pet barber Brenda on the 16th on her own webpage and have not had the courtesy of a reply or any communication to myself or my husband regarding this unfortunate and unnecessary situation. $80 for grooming has turned into a $300 urgent care bill with the visit and three medications,and now a follow up visit. be wary bringing your loved pets to Brendas especially with the weather turning into winter if she does not have the time to properly dry the animals which she grooms. read more

I have been taking my dogs there shortly after Brenda opened. She has always did great job. I would highly recommend her to anyone that's looking for a dog groomer. I have left my dogs there when I was out of town and when I come back they're always happy and been well taken care of. read more

Brenda has been great! We have a crazy border collie who doesn't like to be left anywhere and who holds a grudge. I usually have to carry her into a groomer. But after the first time with Brenda, the BC now jumps out of the car and races to the door. We've been to Brenda's three times now. Each time, Brenda is fast and thorough. If I could I would give this place 0 stars. This was my first time taking my dog here. I took her in for a full groom and nothing expected was done. Her ears were not cleaned, her nails were not cut nor were the pads of her paws trimmed. Upon bringing her into the car it was very noticeable that she had a strong perfume odor. When we got home her skin was really dry and she was flaking and while looking closer she appeared dirty. Not only was the service unsatisfactory but upon picking her up she seemed scared which is very unusual for her because we have taken her other places and she's always really happy. My dissatisfaction was expressed where she lied about everything I brought up. The only good thing was at least she gave our money back for our dissatisfaction. This experience was very frustrating especially when we just wanted to get a good groom in before the holidays. I will stay at my normal place and pay the 10$ extra for better service. read more

Brenda trims Lilly's toenails regularly and, when she needs it, clears her glands. Her prices are very reasonable. She is kind and gentle and Lilly is always excited to see her with her tail wagging vigorously. Lilly is a small dog with short hair so she doesn't require other grooming on a regular basis but I will definitely continue to take her to see Brenda and Jon. read more

I had a very close friend that passed away and left me his dog, she was a very sweet little cocker spaniel named baby, but since his health had gone on the decline he did not have time to take care of her (grooming nails etc...) The point where she had gotten kind of bad Brenda did a great job of taking care of her she is not overpriced at all and very flexible on hanging onto the pup for an extra hour or so till you are able to pick her up. She does a great job of cutting the hair washing the dog cutting the nails anything that you could ask for and she cares about dogs to the point that when baby had issues she pointed them out to us and advised us to take her to a vet. Can only rate Brenda's Pet Groomers based on their customer service - which was zero. Over the course of a week I tried calling and sent emails to get information their pet grooming services and to set up an appointment. This business didn't reply to any of my inquiries.
