I took my scooter there to get a couple of extra keys made. I had to return about 10 minutes later because one of the keys did not work which was my mistake I should've tried them before I left. When I returned and told them this one key didn't work his wife came out and shoved the key in the ignition with a lot of force. I asked her not to do that and she went back into their store. When I came into the store she had complained to her husband that I didn't like it because she was a woman! From then on they treated me like crap. I don't care who it is, nobody is going to shove a key back into the ignition like she did.! read more

Very unhappy with the service here. I am from outside the area & called to get service. I was told they could take care of my issue & I explained to them in detail I am out of the area. After waiting 3 days for them to take care of my lock needs- they called me the day of service telling me that they could not take payment remotely. Completely wasted my time. They were not solution oriented & simply told me they are sorry. I'm sorry you couldn't at least try and help me find a solution or be up front with me and not waste my time. What great service! Luke at Frank's Lock and Key installed several new interior door handles with locks for bedrooms in our rental home in Pismo. He wisely imprinted the new, extra keys he made so that we could tell which key went to which lock. Their keys are beautifully made and work as well or better than the ones furnished with the new handles. That was a job well done. Several months later, our tenant let me know the front door lock was misbehaving. Late in the day, I went to check on it with some extra keys. The door would not unlock. I had visions of a very nice, but tired tenant coming home at the end of a long flight late at night and not being able to get into the house. I called Frank's after hours in a panic and left a message. Within minutes, Erin called me back and arranged to get Luke out with haste. I was so grateful for her understanding and patience. Luke promptly arrived and identified the problem immediately. The deadbolt was working properly but the hub that is controlled by the thumb press was broken and hanging by a thread. So, the door just couldn't unlatch. The expense of getting a new front door handle wasn't a happy thought. Instead, Luke assured me that he had replacement parts on his truck. He had the handle apart and back together working properly in no time. Problem simply solved. My stress was greatly reduced. On both service calls to the house, Luke has proven to be extremely knowledgable and professional plus just a very nice guy.
